History

Established in 2014.

My name is Jason and I created HandyGeek Home Services after retiring from the Information Technology department at a Fortune 500 company. For years I solved common handyman problems ranging from drywall repair to remodeling entire living spaces while working my day job as a software developer and later as an IT director. I decided to leave the corporate world to pursue my passion for working with both my head and my hands. Now, I like to do jobs that deliver real value to my customers. My favorite jobs are the ones where the homeowner walks away thrilled with what I’ve done.

At heart I’m a problem solver and I enjoy practicing my skills solving home maintenance and improvement challenges as well as using my experience with electronics to setup WiFi networks, home theater systems, and more.

Meet the Business Owner

Jason W.

Business Owner

I worked in the IT department of a Fortune 500 company for over eighteen years. On the weekends and in the evenings, I would work on common handyman projects around my own house, for family, for friends, and for friends of friends. Over the years, I developed the skills needed to solve a variety of household maintenance and repair problems.

Around the time my son turned two, I realized that it was time for a change. While I enjoyed my day job, it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I wanted to do something that allowed me to work with both my head and my hands — and something that gave me the flexibility to be there for my son when he needs me. I started HandyGeek Home Services so that I can do what I love, so that I can spend more time with my son, and so that I can help people solve problems around the house.
