I hijacked my boyfriend’s bike to spiff it up for his birthday, I’ve never been to a bike shop before, and I must admit I only came here because I’ve seen it driving down Westnedge Ave. many a times.
I got lucky, because these guys were great. One gentlemen came out and helped me haul the surprisingly heavy bike out of my trunk. From there, another man spent plenty of time with me trying to figure out what exactly it was that I wanted and walking me through what they had. I didn’t quite know what the heck I was looking for exactly, but the guy was patient.
They didn’t have the kind of saddle I wanted in stock new, but they have a small box of saddles that had been taken off in-​shop bikes that were customized with other saddles instead– I thought this was pretty cool. I was able to find the perfect saddle in that box & it was much cheaper than other options! I purchased some solid new pedals, too. The gentlemen who was helping look installed everything super quick (there is a small installation fee), & the employee who cashed me out helped me get the bike back into my car.
I was a happy camper.

I walked into the store around 6PM on 7÷14÷2015. After making two laps around the store with not so mush as a «hello» or «how can I help you» I left. The store was not crowed at all.
Very disappointing.

I am by no means a bike expert– I can 9 times out of 10 not fall off my bike, that’s about my expertise level. So I definitely am offering the novice perspective, but in my view, Zoo City is a really great place to go for service, advice, help, and products.
I recently got an old Schwinn bike and needed a new seat. I bought one, without bringing in my bike, upon the great staff recommendation. Unfortunately, it was way too high for my bike. I brought it back in (WITH the bike this time), and they helped outfit me with an appropriate seat that was a good height. I had no problems exchanging it, and they offered me a «used» seat– it looked brand new but had no tags, likely an exchange from a person in a situation similar to mine. I was out in maybe 30 – 40 minutes on a VERY busy day in the shop, with a new, perfect, installed seat as well as a water bottle holder– also installed.
Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable, but also they listened to my concerns without judging me for my probably obvious ignorance about bikes in general. (I believe the guy who helped me out was named Bo or Beau? I could be wrong.) I highly recommend stopping here for help– definitely bring your bike! Prices are of course a bit marked up from big box stores or online retailers, but in my opinion, less of a markup than at other bike stores in the area.

They get it done with no nonsense knowledge group. Fixes my mountain bike twisted chain and tuned up my derailing system for 46 $ in three days.

Staff was mostly young guys but were very friendly and knowledgable. I needed a rim and they were able to special order it for me as well as change out the sprocket and put in a new tube. I was able to drop off the damaged one and they called me to let me know they had made the repairs and could pick it up anytime.
Was not in the market for a new bike but I did look around and they have a wide selection of bikes on the cheep as well as high end bikes. They had a good selection of kids bikes as well as helmets. There is also a section for used bikes.
I’ll be back for my bike needs.

Not my «home» bike store but I needed a helmet, and no other place in town had one that fit my huge head so…
Friendly, not pushy staff, huge selection, decent seeming prices. Didn’t condescend to me (which is a big deal for bike stores I think) and I got what I needed, quickly.
they don’t seem like much of a shop, more focused on retail knowledge and selection. maybe get new stuff here, but take it elsewhere to get fixed? Who knows though, this was just my impression.
