Calvary Chapel Kaneohe is nestled on a side street on the mauka side Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe. It is a small in size, but extra large in heart. I attend another church in Honolulu, but when I can’t make over the hill this friendly church is my church home away from my church home. Pastor J.D. Farag simply teaches the word of God without compromise. He has a unique perspective being an Arab Christian with Lebanese roots. Each week he takes current events and expounds on them in light of biblical prophecy.
CC Kaneohe meets at a Seventh Day Adventist Church building on Muhinui St. They begin Sunday morning with prayer at 7:45a, the first service begins at 8:30a and the second service is at 10:45a, with youth ministry at noon.
Most things you would expect as part of a Calvary Chapel service, worship, prayer, communion monthly, children’s ministry, and people to pray for your needs after the service are all part of the humble little church. With all the large churches out there, if your are looking for something more intimate, where you won’t get lost in the shuffle, try this church.
The extras: a mommies room at the rear of the sanctuary for nursing moms to have some privacy, coffee and a hospitality table before and after services, and a «potluck» or should I say «pot-​blessing» lunch after the second service. Please bring a dish to share and enjoy the fellowship after the service. Another extra: one morning it was storming in Kaneohe and a nice gentleman met me at my car with two umbrellas (one for me and one for him). Nice touch…
