History

Established in 1978.

Masa & Joyce was created by Masa and Joyce Tobaru. Both are originally from the islands of Okinawa. Masa was a fisherman by trade and started as a fisherman on the Aku boats here in Hawaii when he first arrived. Joyce has always had a passion for cooking and they just put that together and started as a fish market/Okazuya (a Japanese style deli). Today, Masa & Joyce continues to operate as an Okazuya and have added Plate lunches and Hawaiian food to the menu. The fish market aspect have changed a bit, but we have always kept Poke on our menu and ONLY use fresh Ahi or Aku. Today, we are also known for our Hawaiian food catering services as well.
