The Barton Perreira eyewear collection was established in 2007 by Kansas City native, Bill Barton, and internationally recognized eyewear designer, Patty Perreira. After opening retail locations in Aspen and Nashville, Barton partnered with long time friend and eyewear retailer, Mike Niewald, to open the Kansas City location which features the Barton Perreira collection as well as other exclusive brands including Anne et Valentin, Lindberg, Mykita, Thierry Lasry, 2.5 Eyephorics and many others. The retailer is a full service optical boutique specializing in the highest quality digital lens technology available in the industry. Experienced opticians are available to offer their expertise in fabricating the finest quality eyewear available anywhere.

Business Owner

Mike Niewald is a respected optician and business owner in the Kansas City community. After managing the Optical Shop of Aspen in Westport and on the Plaza for over 20 years, Niewald partnered with long time friend, Bill Barton, to open Barton Perreira in Kansas City. Niewald brings years of experience and a dedicated following to this venture, offering an unprecedented dedication to the highest level of service and quality. Niewald remains highly involved in the local Kansas City music and arts scene as the founding member of the adult-​friendly kid music band, The Doo-​Dads and various other projects which he incorporates into charitable and entertaining events at the store.
