History

Established in 2004.

The Budo Ryu (School of the Warrior Way) was developed to help preserve the truth of the ancient ninja and samurai!

Tired of all of the politics that seem to surround the martial arts community on «who is who» and «what is what». Soke Anshu Christa Jacobson started the Budo Ryu Ninjutsu Dojo so that anyone that wants to simply train in the authentic historical fighting arts of the ninja and samurai can do so without all of the politics and negativity that surround many of the major martial arts organizations.

With this politic free approach and open mindedness towards training, the Budo Ryu Ninjutsu Dojo has grown to be one of the top 5 largest ninjutsu organizations in the world with over 22 schools and is head quartered in Kansas City, Kansas.

Anshu Christa Jacobson; Headmistress of the Budo Ryu Ninjutsu Dojo, is one of the most sought after instructors in the traditional and eclectic martial traditions. Her many years of training in several martial arts has lead her to to be the only non-Japanese to receive Menkyo Kaiden (The highest level license that exist in Japanese martial arts) and named Soke (successor /inheritor) of the Tomo Ryu tradition of Shinobijutsu from Master Ichiro Kobayashi.

Aside from technical excellence, she is also an expert in martial arts history, tradition and lineage and has help in various areas of study for the Ninjutsu Historical Society.

In 2004 Anshu Christa Jacobson wanted to bring back the tradition of Japanese Bujutsu, something that she felt has been lost in the modern world. To do this she established the Budo Ryu Ninjutsu Dojo, meaning School of the Warrior Way.
