At first I was carpenter doing framing and trim work, setting windows and doors, etc. Then the money was better in Masonry work, tile and concrete foundation & flat-​work, but mainly exterior brick and stone and chimney building. Then when I owned my own homes, and built and renovated, I became familiar with all of the skills required for remodeling from foundation to roof. Working with a member of the family who is a plumbing contractor and builds homes, I learned even more. For a few years I worked for an excavator doing underground water and sewer connections, piping drainage systems. Then I renovated and flipped houses with an investor before becoming a construction manager. When the housing market bubble burst and the financial crisis hit in 2007 I found myself unemployed. Eventually I found my niche in my roots again — working on homes in need of general repairs, remodel and renovation. I enjoy working with my hands and the smiles I get from people who appreciate my craftsmanship.
