George Street Photo & Video

I enjoyed how simple it was to work with GS. You get to pick a photographer based on whose photos your like the best (out of local photographers in your area), you pick a basic package, you get an online wedding/​reception planning website (which was very helpful), you know exactly what you’re going to get and when you’re going to get it.
My photographer (Karissa Granzela) and my videographer (Morgan Cooper) were fabulous, charismatic, talented people and it was delightful working with them. I have literally zero complaints about working with them.
That being said, the downside to GS is that if you do not get along so well with your photo/​video talent, you will literally not know until your wedding day. They contact you about 1 – 2 weeks before your wedding, but you don’t get a chance to meet them at all unless you book a $ 500 engagement shoot (yeah not going to happen). It was stressful not knowing if/​when they will get a hold of you and whether or not your personalities will work together. It was also frustrating that the wedding planner website shuts down the planning portion about 1 month before your wedding and you can no longer update the timeline or schedule without contacting a representative. If you’re an «everything at the last minute» kind of person like me, your detailed timeline will not be ready 1 month in advance. It was barely ready 1 week in advance. So, I had to call the coordinators multiple times to update documents. That was the reason for docking 1 star.
Pros: Very great service if you are new to an area and are not familiar with the local talent. Easy, streamlined service to get exactly what you want. Online pages were convenient and easy to use.
Cons: Not a lot of communication on deadlines. Possible misalignment of personalities. Long wait time to see photos/​video.
All in all, it was a good experience and I really feel happy to have worked with the talent I ended up with. I really could not have chosen better myself.

We decided to use George Street for our wedding photography and videography for several reasons:
1) Affordable — it’s my understanding they take care of the administrative work so photographers and videographers can focus on the creative work. It results in a more affordable package.
2) Professionalism — we were able to meet with one of their local representatives. She told us about the company and described how the process would work from start to finish. We were able to see example albums and she showed us several slideshows of potential photographers and we were able to discuss our style, wants, and needs with her. The photographer and videographer were equally professional. They called us during the week leading up to our wedding to discuss plans, wants, and needs. On the day of the wedding, they were friendly and easy to work with. I especially appreciated their discretion during the ceremony. They got amazing photographs but were never a distracting presence.
3) Quality — I could tell from the portfolios we could choose from that George Street only works with the best photographers. Our photographers brought out the best in us and our guests. I’m very happy with the quality of our photos.
4) Customer Service — I was surprised at how dedicated the customer support team remains after the day of the wedding. They’ve effectively and personally communicated with us about creating an album and other photography related products.
