The worst service(Danielle) I have ever received at a restaurant. The restaurant was empty and I waited over an hour for a meal and the waitress took 15 minutes for anything we asked. Will never go back. One-star is an over-statement.

Walked in last night… sat down… waited 10 minutes. Went to Cascone’s. I thanked the bartender for everything… sarcastically…and left. Won’t be back.

Place is going down hill, window blinds and tables are dusty. Reported a broken stool watch the manager move to another spot. Should have been removed. Food was ok, service average

The food is always tastes great and is speedy — however the young hostess has the customer service skills of a wet blanket. It would be nice to be greeted with a smile!

Well I have to say my bad, My gut told me I should of stuck with pizza… I loved this original place at metro north mall I’m sooooo disappointed I wanted to give a good review, but I just can’t sugar coat sh** So my girlfriend and I went in on Wednesday night it was dead. Here’s how the night went. As the waitress sat us she asked us for our drinks…1 minute later she brought our drinks and asked for our order??? Hello lady we just sat down! She acted like we were keeping her from doing something as she was very rushed, I’m thinking really chick who you waiting on there were 2 tables! Like I said we should of stuck with pizza as this is a pizza joint! We ordered a salad each and split a Reuben sandwich. Salad no complaints, who can ruin a salad the tomato blue cheese dressing was delish… Reuben came about 15 minutes later and it looked delish… haha it was a trick and I was so disappointed the bread was SOO toasted I almost broke my tooth biting it. I thought okay maybe it’s the edges, nope it was all horrible and it had 1 yes I said 1 slice of corn beef and I think the sauerkraut was waived over the sandwich!!! «Where’s the beef»?? On a good note the atmosphere was good… I will go back and give them another chance for«old metro north days sake» but this time I’m sticking with pizza!

Not sure how begin this without expressing total dislike of the place and service. the evening started off well with a light crowd on a Saturday night but soon after the food arrived(which wasn’t bad**calzone**) server dissapeared along with the bartender and a couple of patrons on what we think was a smoking session for over 15 minutes. the bartender even changed the channel without checking with those watching to please the 2 patros she was taking shots with. The menu is limited and outdated to say the least but I’m glad my calzone wasn’t a total disaster. will not be returning

Pretty dang delicious! Not too keen on the sports bars, but the drinks are strong and tasty, and the pizza is the best I’ve had in a long time!

I really love the pizza and the salad with ranch. The past few times my family has ordered carry out for gatherings, so I can’t really say much about the customer service dining in. However, the next time I do dine in, I will have to politely tell the waitress that I expect good customer service since most of the reviews on here are saying that is lacking. Maybe they’ll spit in my food, but at least I gave them a chance and won’t feel bad about giving them a horrible review next time.

My first visit to Kelso’s was just annoying. For many different reasons. The pizza was awesome, but that’s pretty much where I stop being positive. So I walk in and the restaurant is empty. Great. I’m standing by the host stand that reads«Hostess Will Seat You» but there was no host to been found. Stood around for a few and then a woman comes up and seats me ‘wherever I want’. Cool. A woman walks up to my table and I wasn’t sure what she was doing because she was talking on her phone. Turns out that she’s my server… and she was talking on her cell phone while waiting on me. Cute. That’s the big thing that pushed me over the edge. That and Kelso’s just has this weird vibe that I personally do not dig. It was relatively inexpensive for what I got, but I just can’t see myself bringing anyone here for dinner just out of sheer embarrassment for the server. Completely unprofessional. Oh and you eat your pizza off of questionable metal saucers, not plates. Weird. Two stars goes to the pizza though.

This is a great lunch spot or quick dinner. Our server was awesome, however, they had an employee meeting right at the table next to us and were really loud and obnoxious. The food is your average 3 star sports bar/grill. My pizza was actually pretty good.

i actually feel like 2 stars may even be generous for this place. The food is about as stale as the décor. The food can be described as typical ‘bar food’ — pizza, burgers, wraps, and lots of fried items. It is a titch less than mediocre. I ordered the Meatball Grinder. The marinara sauce tastes like gross catchup, which threw off the whole sandwich. My husband ordered a turkey sandwich that was reminiscent of something a busy mom would pack in a kid’s school lunchbox. It was decently priced, which is about all I can say for it. The waitress took FOREVER to come to our table and take our order and was slow throughout the meal. Just go somewhere else. ANYWHERE else. First Watch up the street is good or the Smoking Guns BBQ is good too. My husband and I just left Kelso’s asking ourselves, «How is this place still open?!»

My office is located in North Kansas City and Kelso’s is very close and great to get a quick bite to eat. We normally will call in our order and pick it up and bring it back to the office. Great portions, I had The Stopper sandwich with fries which was a ham and provolone sandwich with red pizza sauce on an Italian bun… It was amazing! The sandwich was packed full of ham and the sauce was delicious, and the bun was soft with a little bit of crisp, SOGOOD! Fries were… eh. But I was having a hard time finishing the sandwich, which I did like a champ, so the fries were just a little extra something something. Have not had the privilege of dinning in, but when we call to put in an order, they usually have everything ready with in 15 to 20 min, and we normally call in at least 5 different orders at a time. It’s very convenient!

If only this place didn’t take as long as it did, I’d give it at least another star. However, if you aren’t in a hurry, you’ll be fine. Food wise, it’s great. Cute area on the corner. Great selection that I haven’t had anything I don’t like yet. Two words-pink sauce. No idea what it is, but it’s the best thing you can ask for whether it’s to dip fries in, add to a sandwich, or even just drink it(maybe exaggerating a little).

Hubby and I went there for lunch. Finding parking is a bit of a challenge during the lunch hour, but the weather was nice for the short walk. Menu items consisted mostly of bar food– sandwiches, pizza, deep fried appetizers. The food is good and service was pretty fast. I ordered Fowl Ball(smoked turkey sandwich with mozzarella cheese and buttermilk dressing) with sweet potato fries. It was pretty good. Price is a bit high but not too outrageous. Would I go back? Yes.

I went to Kelso’s for the first time for lunch with co-workers. During lunch time it was somewhat difficult for us to find parking. We went to Kelso’s because we were in the mood for pasta. Unfortunately, we were unable to find any pasta on their(lunch) menu. I ended up ordering a «rookie» size pizza which ended up being enough for lunch and dinner. Our server was attentive and discounted my food when my pizza was not hot when it was served. Once my pizza was warmed up it was quite good. I would go back to Kelso’s for lunch again.

Here’s the problem with Kelso’s: the service. Honestly, that’s the problem and it’s huge. I’ve had good service only once at Kelso’s and that was also the only time that I chose to eat in the bar area. They are incredibly slow there as well as not well informed on what they can and cannot do. On one occasion, our waitress allowed my husband to order a pizza with one half white sauce and one half red sauce, which my husband was unsure of if it could be done. When he inquired, she listened and repeated it back saying that it most certainly could be done and that it would be very easy to do. She disappeared with our order and returned 20 minutes later(TWENTY!) along with the cook who was confused and pissed off for some unexplained reason. He was very rude and opened by telling my husband how that order was impossible and he didn’t know why anyone would ever think that was something that could be done. He stormed back in to the kitchen as though our mere nerve of having inquired to the waitress about this offended his entire being. Our waitress then asked what we wanted instead. Flashforward to another 20 minutes later and here came the new order. What a waste of time! Why on earth did it take so long if the pizza couldn’t even be attempted? It should have taken a couple of minutes tops and there was zero need to talk to the psychotic, sweaty cook. On the only occasion of having faster service, we informed the bartender/waitress that we were catching a movie soon and needed a quick bite(we weren’t ordering pizza, just chicken tenders). We asked if it would be possible to do this quickly and she told us it would be. She was right and this woman was a saint. She had a very full bar area and the other side of the place was very slow. Despite this, the other waitress just stood around chatting and checking her cell phone as opposed to assisting our poor waitress as she ran around like crazy getting people’s drinks and waiting on all of her tables. I felt very bad for our waitress and she deserved the large tip she received.

I wish I had read the reviews before going here. We were seated quickly and the hostess got our drink order. She promptly delivered the drinks. Waitress came over and we ordered right away. We let her know that we were on a time crunch, asked what food would come out fast, and ordered based on her recommendations on what would come out in 10 – 12 minutes based on the crowd that day. 25 minutes later, no food and we hadn’t see our waitress even once. We had to find another waitress to bring out our food. Then another waiter came over and brought the check. Then he came back and asked if we wanted two checks. I still had 2⁄3 of my food on my plate and he didn’t ask or give me a chance to ask for a to go box. I went and found the server station and got my own. Food was okay — nothing special, but not bad. Based on the service, I wouldn’t go back.

I regularly will meet people here for lunch and don’t mind the food one bit. I’m a fan of getting a little pizza and salad(although it’s definitely out of a bag…) and I’ve taken it to go also. It’s not a gourmet restaurant but it gets the job done. I think the meatball sub(with extra sauce) is delicious, the meatballs are large, bun is perfect and meat is moist. It’s quite the lunch spot for NKC as it’s always busy during the lunch rush. The service is a little slow and relaxed unless you make a special request of saying you’re in a hurry. Personally, I like the place, I’m a fan. It’s a sports bar, what do you expect?
