We have been servicing the Kansas City, Missouri metro and surrounding areas since 1969. We take pride in being a Full-​Service Locksmith Company. What does «Full-​Service» Mean? It means that we can handle all of your security needs whether it’s your car, your house, or your company. It’s true that nobody can have all the answers, that’s why we have a large staff with expert knowledge in all the categories of the locksmith trade. History

Established in 1969.

Founder J.R. McGuire began his journey as a locksmith with a purely mobile service under the name of McGuire Lock & Key. He started running overflow for a local locksmith shop near the plaza area in Kansas City Missouri, and then for a locksmith business in the northland known as Logan’s Lock Shop.

In 1978 he purchased that business which gave him some roots. While staffing up with like minded people, he continued to run service calls and serve where needed. The shop afforded the opportunity to warehouse more inventory than a single van could carry and to finally merchandise safes.

In 1984 the business name was changed to McGuire Lock & Safe.

In 1991 his son Joe came to work for him working his way up through the ranks of shop help through field work.

In 2002 the work of transition began by selling the business to his son Joe and daughter in law Becky.

In 2008 the grandson Justin came on board.

We now have 6 service vans with a full time staff of 11 to better serve you.

We are a family owned shop with a heart for service. There are aspects of the industry that are not all that profitable in dollars and cents, but we choose to provide those services because they are lacking elsewhere. We want to protect the environment, so we will try to repair it, rather than just sell a new one.

So if you have to jiggle your key to make it work, bring it in and let us know, we can cut it back to the manufactures specifications or re-​pin the lock to match. Is your safe door dragging? Maybe we can shim it up. Did your Keyless Remote stop working? Perhaps we can repair it. Are you tired of using a different key for every lock on your car, house or business?
