Specialties
We craft traditional and unique espresso and coffee drinks using fresh, local ingredients. We work with multiple area roasters — The Roasterie, PT’s, Messenger, Oddly Correct, and Blip. All of the coffee and espresso we serve is organic or sustainably raised, and fair or direct trade. Our milk comes from Shatto Dairy Farm in Osborn, MO. We offer: whole, skim, chocolate, banana, root beer, strawberry, coffee, and egg nogs (seasonal). We source our tea and chai from a local KC company Hugo Tea, and have many non-coffee/tea drinks to offer you as well.
Our other focus is baked-from-scratch goods. We make a wide range of cookies, biscuits, breads, coffee cake, hand pies, granola, and quiche. They are made in small batches, with quality ingredients, no preservatives, and love. Varieties change seasonally and at the whim of our baker.
We also have sandwiches from The Nutty Girl and Fud, vegan tamales from Mean Vegan, pastries from Le Monde Bakery, donuts from Hana’s Bakery, and much more. Overall we carry products from 25 – 30 local & regional companies!
History
Established in 2009.
When the space became available in our neighborhood, a friend suggested that we would be a good fit. We were not actively looking to start a business, but once we saw the space, and it seemed liked folks actually wanted to lend us money, we began to believe that we really could do this!
One More Cup is our love letter to our neighborhood, and Kansas City in general. We are very passionate about the products we have chosen to use, family, friends, the environment, and our community. Our shop is an extension of our home. All are welcome, and we hope to have many chances to share cups of coffee with you.
Meet the Business Owner
Jeremy and Stacy N.
Business Owner
We both grew up in KC/KC area, and we have lived together in Waldo since 2001 (with a brief stint in Brooklyn, New York.) Jeremy has worked in the coffee business on and off since the early nineties in Lawrence, Kansas City, and Brooklyn. He is also a piano tuner and musician, and is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 34 – 627. He received his training in piano tuning and repair from the Museum of the American Piano in New York, New York.
Stacy is a graduate of The Kansas City Art Institute’s fiber department. She loves pouring her creative energy into the shop. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and having a beer with friends.
Our main priority, besides the shop, are our wonderful kids. They bring us a lot of joy, and keep us on our toes!
