Re-Runs Warehouse

Wish they haven’t closed. You can still find there main store down town Westport. Makes me sad that this and jaskeys are both gone. Looks like this district is too expensive to keep aflo the. Just when the west bottomed was getting good again

This place takes a lot of digging. It’s hit or miss, but you may get lucky and score a really cool find. I am very petite, but I went with a taller friend of mine. She ended up with a lot of neat stuff. Several pieces from different time periods. It is hard to dig through the selection but at the very least, each room is categorized if you are looking for something specific.
I ended up only finding one piece but it was a really cool vintage dress. The quality was not the same as what you see these days and it fit me so perfectly. It would have bummed me out to have to redo the beautiful hand-​stitched hem. I would go back and not be sad if I didn’t find anything for myself. It’s fun to look through once in a while just for the history of the fashion.

I just brace myself for the dust allergies this place stirs up, because it’s totally worth a few hours of sneezing and a runny nose. I don’t care. For cool clothes I will put up with almost anything, and there are plenty of cool clothes to be had here. Not that dust is such a huge problem, but I just notice it. The place is only open on the weekends, and it is in the West Bottoms, so dust tends to takeover in the off hours.
Normal Re-​runs expeditions should take up entire afternoon. In my experience, once I’ve crossed the threshold, I’m in it for the long haul. I usually have to be kicked out. Ken, the owner, has always provided a magnificent selection of vintage garments to sort through. Been going here since I was but a child, and I’ve never been disappointed.
Clothes are sectioned off by decade, so if you are like me and have an idea of the style of clothes you look best in, it really helps to narrow your search down. There’s a big shoe room, and lots of accessories bins. Hats everywhere, berets to sophisticated floppy wool hats. And more. There is even a room filled with vintage fabric, perfect for people that are handy with the sewing machine. (Not me, though I try.) Not everything is in perfect condition, but it’s pretty easy to judge whether something is salvageable or not, and for the low low prices, I can’t imagine a missing button being a deterrent.
Last weekend’s score: Black velvet high-​waist hot 90’s pants, a melon colored polyester Georgie girl dress, a patterned silk 50’s day dress in MY SIZE, and a red sequined holiday jumper… like Ice Capades level glitz. Sorry to be such a show off, but really, can you blame me? I’ll be celebrating til next trip.

Top notch. Found a sweet jacket and some 40’s era items for the lady.
Then I was told by the manager that the store on Broadway is where they keep the gems. Can’t wait to check it out!

One of my best friends always tells me that I’m an «old soul». Well, she’s right. Inside our present there is so much past! That’s why I absolutely love vintage shopping. There are some many unique pieces of eras gone by that are just really beautiful. I do like the Reruns vintage store in Westport, but the Reruns Warehouse in the West Bottoms is where it’s at. Things are super cheap – ten, fifteen bucks maybe? Everything is sorted by decade which makes things really easy to find if you know if you’re a 50’s girl or a 70’s girl… or a little of both like me. It’s probably the least stressful/​easiest to browse through vintage warehouse I’ve ever been too. In fact, I find it much easier than the Reruns store in Westport… I mean, you have to be either willing to search or just up for a casual browsing session to really enjoy the Warehouse. Even just browsing I managed to find some awesome dresses for ten bucks which I just couldn’t pass up. It’s a steal. If you’re an old soul too, checking out the warehouse is a must.

Re-​runs Warehouse is located in The Bottoms, which seems like the perfect neighborhood for this huge warehouse full of vintage clothing.
The thing that I really respect them for is that unlike other vintage «warehouses,» they sort the clothing for you according to era and/​or style of the garment! No piles of misfit toys here. Yes, you have to still sift through loads of items packed on the rack (each of which have signs telling you the era and classification contained within).
Anyone who knows anything about vintage shopping knows the warehouses are where you find the bargains, the hidden gems, the forgotten treasures. Diehards will make the sacrifice of time for the sake of the rush of getting a bargain. Oh, you know the kind of person I’m talking about. The person who you compliment on her vintage Pucci and she casually remarks she got it for 10 dollars at «some thrift store.» Uh huh. So that is probably an exaggeration (remember, Re-​Runs knows their vintage! They would never disgrace a garment with a low price tag), but you can find that lovely beaded Angora sweater here for a steal. It may have the tiniest of holes. It CAN be part of the charm. Why not make up a history for your garment?
Alas, even the most devoted are not always in the mood to work. Yes, I admit to sometimes even being, gasp, a positively lazy shopper. if I have something specific in mind for a specific occasion and I’m short on time, I wouldn’t even venture here, I’d head straight to Reruns in Westport.
But oh, those rainy early afternoons when I have an itch to find something special, Re-​Runs Warehouse is my pastime.

This is what vintage shopping is all about. Actually working hard to find the goodies…
