SuperShuttle

Paid for the direct van to our hotel. Multiple people and drivers standing around with no idea of who is assigned to what car. The numbers the drivers are calling out are not the numbers on the tickets. Driver is upset after looking at my ticket because I didn’t answer. (the number he was calling was NOT ON MY TICKET and he wasn’t saying the right name). We then proceed to get in the van with the drivers family apparently tagging along for the day. He ran at least one stop light and then also turned left into oncoming traffic (we almost got hit). Think I’ll walk next time.

Utilized SuperShuttle service twice during my stay at Kansas City, one from airport to hotel, and another from business to airport. On both occasions, drivers were friendly and outgoing. On both occasions, they arrived within 5 minutes of scheduled time, or more impressively probably within 3 minutes. Prices were competitive for a person traveling alone, and I like to know how much I will have to pay in advance. So why the three stars?
I had scheduled for a specific pick up time from the business to the airport. I finished what I needed to do way in advance, like ~1.5 hours in advance, and so I call the national 800 number to see if they can bump the pick up time. Apparently it’s not very flexible. The drivers were «busy.» I call BS on that. This is a huge company with services nationwide. I hope that they don’t have 3 drivers per metropolitan area.

SuperShuttle is SuperConvenient. At KCI, the SS stand was right by the baggage claim. From the airport to the hotel, we had great service. We were the only ones in the van and had a painless ride. The airport was about a 30 minute drive to downtown with no stops.
A few days later– on the way back to the airport, I wasn’t crazy about our driver. He was very short with an older gentleman in our van. He asked the driver a question and the driver didn’t answer. The rest of the 30 minute drive was completely awkward. Besides this guy that obviously didn’t like his job, I’ve had a great experience with SS.
Pros–
–They show up on time.
–When you arrive to the airport, it doesn’t take long for the van to appear.
–They’re communicative with where the van is. They even text you a map so you can follow the van
–For those that don’t carry cash, you can tip in advance if you book online. (This might also bite you in the butt though if you have bad service and don’t want to tip the full 20%.)
Cons–
–If you don’t do a private van, you may have to share the van which could also lead to additional stops.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use SS again at other airports.

Alright, «yay, I’m a fan» might be a bit excessive, airport transportation is just not something I’m going actually get excited about. Maybe I’m giving Super Shuttle four stars to boost their average.
I’ve used them several times, and never had a problem. They’ve always been on time, or a little early. Their website tells you you might be sharing a ride with another party, but that’s never happened to me, even early in the morning. Their vans are new, clean, and big enough, and the drivers have always help load and unload. Booking is easy, it’s cheaper than a cab, and I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes to be picked up at the airport coming home. So, I don’t cheer when they pull up, but they’re a strong A-​Ok.

took the private van to hotel on arrival as I was getting in late and did not want to stop. The scented tree was very strong, but all else good. pickup to return was on time and the driver was helpful with luggage. Good process. oh yea, they have auto check in so you don’t have to wait in line.

Clean vans, helpful staff, easy text updates, confirmation numbers, no hassle. Booked 2 people (online two days before traveling) to go between the Airport and Hotel Phillips. They were ready to pick up from the airport and take us to the hotel in under 15 minutes. I was about to walk up to a super shuttle kiosk when a very friendly staff member volunteered to take care of it in person instead. Personal service with a smile is a rarity. I was a little in shock that someone would go out of their way to be helpful like that.
There was a huge traffic jam up ahead of us on our way to the Hotel; the driver skillfully and safely avoided the mess, altered the route, and we still arrived in time to check in for our convention and grab some dinner. If we had taken a cab or über, that probably would have been extra.
Super shuttle was ready at the Hotel to take us back to the Airport, exactly on time as scheduled. Seriously, the text alerts made everything effortless. It made our first stay in Kansas City a breeze. I wish they had this shuttle at every airport. This was the least amount of stress I have ever experienced in booking rides between an airport and a hotel.

Crap service. If you have two or more people in your party, it’s more simple and affordable to take an Über or taxi instead.
I recently had to take Super Shuttle from the Kansas City Convention Center to MCI. My pickup window came and went, without so much as a phone call or text from Super Shuttle. Eventually, I called Super Shuttle’s operator, who assured me that a van was coming and I’d get a phone notification when it was on its way. Still, nothing. Eventually, I walked up to a SuperShuttle driver who was loading a later pickup group, and he casually said, «Oh, sure, I can take you.»
Helpful, I guess … But it’s pretty evident that I wouldn’t have been picked up if I hadn’t incidentally spotted another SuperShuttle van, and that SuperShuttle didn’t have the courtesy to let me know that they had no intention of providing me any service.
You can’t be a transportation company and then just not show up and expect that’s OK. If you’re taking SuperShuttle in Kansas City, be wary. It’s a really pathetic service, and you should be persistent about calling them and bothering them until you’ve secured a ride.

Horrible if I could give it negative stars I would. I booked a reservation 3 weeks before I was due to arrive. When I landed I checked in and it told me I would be picked up in 5 – 10 min. 29 min go by and still nobody. Finally a dispatcher calls me and tells me it will be at least another 20 – 30 min before the shuttle will get here. She told me they have no drivers at the airport. Isn’t that what your company does, drive people from the airport to where ever they are going. I will never use this company again they are worthless.

A shuttle is here (has room for me and is heading my way). However, they won’t let me ride because «the other driver will be mad». Apparently the shuttles run every 30 minutes and the shuttle that is here «should have left already «. Therefore, I’m just told to wait 25 more minutes for the next one.
TLDR: Even though a shuttle is here and waiting, I can’t ride it and must instead wait for the next one.

I just had a very poor experience attempting to book a shuttle with Super Shuttle in the KC area. The customer service agent who received my call — put simply had a bad attitude from the get go. I asked in a very courteous way that she repeat one of her initial questions and she copped an attitude in a very off putting way. Totally uncalled for. As we continued, though I had the answers to her questions she was short and seemed like she REALLY did not want to be taking my reservation. Felt awkward and uncomfortable. Then she starts saying hello. hello. and couldn’t hear me. I checked reception on my end and was good, so I am not exactly sure what happened but after a few brief seconds she hung up on me… :-(
I decided not to go with an airport shuttle at all and pay JUST A FEW EXTRA DOLLARS and use Über which I have had many positive experiences with.
To Super Shuttle– you just lost a customer to Über — a more modern system that is competing well in your market…

The shuttle passed me by, the nice guy in the terminal said 5 minutes. 25 minutes ago.

Pricey but professional. Minimal wait time when leaving the airport and on time pick ups. Friendly motivated staff. I flew in, grabbed bags, and was on a shuttle within 10 minutes with no advance booking. Very easy.

This was my first time using Super Shuttle and a Shared ride. They were very responsive. Once I landed, I got a text letting me know where to go once I got my bag. The attendant was efficient and let me know every step of the process.
We were picked up within 15 – 20 minutes and the vehicle was totally full. We stopped at one hotel before we got to mine (all destinations were within blocks of each other). The ride was quick, easy and very affordable.

Traveling as an individual, this service makes economic sense. If you’ve got a group of two or more, however, getting a taxi or other transportation would be cheaper and more expedient.
Once at the airport, check in at their kiosk– then go stand at the curb outside and wait. Once the shuttle arrives, board the van and then sit at the curb and wait some more until all passengers have arrived and boarded. Once you’ve finally started moving towards your destination, cross your fingers and hope that yours is the first stop– otherwise, yep, you’ll be waiting some more while the other passengers disembark.
I’ve taken airport shuttles in several cities, so I know the drill– and SuperShuttle provided adequate service and an average experience. In hindsight, though, I wish that the group I was traveling with had just taken a cab and saved both time and money.

I booked and paid online so that I wouldn’t have to worry about transportation to my hotel late at night when traveling alone. However, when I got to the super shuttle representative at baggage claim, she told me that it would be over an hour wait and I needed to call to cancel and ask for a refund. Yes, an IN PERSON customer service rep told me I had to call! Even better (and by better I mean worse), upon calling, the operator transferred me to an automated system that couldn’t find my reservation. Super Shuttle could have redeemed themselves for not having my promised transportation, but because they don’t empower their employees with any customer service authority, it was a boondoggle of the worst kind. Skip this service in the future, or at least, don’t count on it.

The only city where it is a bit messed up is NY. Any other city — fantastic

For $ 33 roundtrip you cant beat it! They’re prompt, early most times and I don’t have to worry about parking or driving.
Their app is easy to navigate and they automatically updated my pick up time when I changed my flight. I would recommend this service to the constant traveler.

For $ 31 I had a roundtrip to and from the airport. Although, that doesn’t include tips to the driver… factor in another $ 4-​$ 5 bucks.
Upon pick up the shuttle was only a couple minutes late (I’m talking like 3 minutes) and I did get a recorded call saying the shuttle was on the way just as I was about to dial them.
I’d use them again!

Even if you pre-​paid online, you still have to sign in at the kiosk:
The driver showed up about a minute after I signed into the kiosk, and he was on time for the return trip pick up from my hotel. There was a tiny navigational glitch: I had to give him directions for the last ¼ mile to the hotel: for some reason they don’t bother using GPS. What’s with that? Anyway, a good experience, despite the fact that everyone seems to enjoy bashing SuperShuttle.
