History

Established in 2011.

While working for the U.S. Postal Service for 31 ½ years, she began collecting books. At first Willa only collected Christian books because of accepting Jesus as her Savior, but then Willa’s collection began to spill over into Black history books. After awhile, Willa had collected so many books that her husband began inquiring about what she was going to do with them. Soon after, «WiIIa’s Books» was born out of the need to create more space within her home. In 1994 she started selling her books on 18^th and Vine, in Kansas City, Missouri, as a street vendor. As as they say, «The rest is history!»
