Alonzos has smash hits plates. You have not tried anything unless you try their Hawaiian Steak Plate. Broke da mouth, and the bank, and the diet. yes you will way cash for these plates but like me, I go back for more. I like my food done right and tasting ono… the hamburger plate rocks your taste buds, and the gravy onion is to have wet dreams. Call me crazy but it’s like my get away from eating healthy… CAUTION plates have plenty, and makes work very hard after throwing these plates down. I HAVENOT disliked any plate yet. Everything gets heated on the stove so there is a wait. There’s cheaper, there’s less tasting, and there’s faster trucks, but my appetite for GOOD tasting Food is way more important. Alonzos is an experience… fast food is what McDonalds and Burger King about.

My favorite food truck in Campbell Industrial! Kim chee fried rice pork adobo is off the hook! Fried snapper is also great if they have it, but this is definitely the most expensive and slowest of all the food trucks. Worth it IMO, but be warned.

Haven’t had to out at Campbell Industrial Park during lunch time in a while. Brought back some great memories of all the great, and some otherwise, lunch trucks. The best part of working out there is the vast selection of trucks to choose with food of all types and ethnicities. All with great prices to boot. I was getting worried as I drove down the main drag and didn’t really see any truck along the edges. As I got more toward the back end I caught a glimpse of Elena’s and another. Elena’s is always a pleaser but as they tour Mapunapuna where my office is, I was looking for something different. I turned down a familiar street and saw a few trucks. Decided to give the Alonzo’s one a try. Have been a fan of them since from Waipahu, Aiea, and Mililani so thought it should be good. I guess 12:30 may have been a little late for a lunch truck trek as their whiteboard menu had been erased down to half. They still had the crispy pata, beef stew, hamburger steak, lechon kewali, and adobo fried rice. Well, nix the fried rice, they forgot to erase it. I settled on the hamburger steak and my friend got the beef stew. I guess I thought lunch truck would = fast, but I was wrong. I guess I should be happy it was cooked fresh but I was hoping to be in and out quickly. Took 5 minutes for my hamburger steak. It was good, could have used a little more seasoning, but the fresh cooked onions helped it along. My friend enjoyed his beef stew but wished it had some veggies in it. At $ 8 a plate I would have expected better. Actually, I didn’t even expect $ 8 a plate. I though I was at a lunch truck. HELLO – no overhead, where’s the deal??? What blew me more was the cost of the drinks. They had soda for $ 1, Powerade for $ 1.50, water for $ 2.00, and Arizona for $ 3. They were out of soda and just threw in the Arizona, so pretty much only had water and Powerade. I thought, $ 1.50, not bad. Who would have thought it was going to be a 12oz Powerade. Hell, I can buy 12 for $ 4.50. Even the Powerade is usually just a dollar. I can understand they need to make a profit, but they don’t need to rape us. Reminded me of Eat the Street pricing. Maybe these guys gotta remember their roots, Eat the Street this isn’t. Hopefully my next venture into the Industrial park will yield better result, whenever that is. Like I said, food was good enough but the pricing totally sucked. If you don’t mind a $ 10.00-$ 11.00 lunch from a truck, enjoy. If not, do a little more driving and Happy Eats!
