I usually go to chain haircut places, but since I was tired of feeling unsatisfied, I decided to try a salon. I am so glad that I did because I left there feeling 5 years younger and my hair felt 5 times lighter! I haven’t cut my hair in a year and today I had Enough to donate to locks of love and get the hair cut I wanted. The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is very relaxing. Raeden is super friendly and chill. He listened to what I wanted and also made a few suggestions on what he can do so that i can have the perfect cut. As a mom of now 3, this place will not break your bank. In fact I feel like I ripped them off because everything was perfect. I will definitely go there again and will recommend them to everyone.

I just haven’t had any luck with a hair stylist. My last one just totally butchered my hair. So I went on Unilocal and this salon had good reviews. I was able to walk in and Ara was able to help me with my hair. She did such a great job that I started taking my youngest daughter and referring her to my oldest daughter even though she lives in Kaneohe. Ara is a great listener and makes great suggestions, we highly recommend her.

Maelynn is the best! I havent had anything done to my hair for years and my husband forced me to go. She took her time with my hair and the salon just has a very positive vibe. Love it.

Wonderful place to go and relax. Kelly did exactly what I was hoping for. Finally… Someone has cut my hair exactly the way I wanted. Thank you!

I don’t know about you, but I DON’T like surprises. Especially when you call to get a quote and then end up paying more.
I was looking for a new salon and found Kapolei Salon on Unilocal.I called to find out what they charge for a haircut and was quoted $ 25 for the hair dresser that I selected.
I went into the salon and the first thing she asks me is, do I want a shampoo… I didn’t know what to say; that was the first time that anyone asked me that question. So I said I don’t know does it matter? She said she prefered to do a dry cut. So I said okay.
I did not like the cut that I had, so she cleaned it up, and re-​shaped it. The back portion of my hair and it was wavy so she asked if I wanted her to flat iron it. I said ok. She only flat ironed the back of my hair and that was it.
She rang me up for $ 47 at the register. I was surprised. My appointment was less than an hour, no shampoo or blow dry. I’m disappointed because I don’t like hidden fees. I called back and was told her fee starts at $ 25 and goes up depending on what they do. I wish I had known that I would be charged more to flat iron a small portion of my hair.
I liked the haircut, but don’t like their style of hidden fees. I like to know what I’m paying for upfront.

This was my first experience with any salon and it was fantastic. I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted and Raedan made it werk. It was exactly the level of cool and funky but still professional. I would definitely recommend to everyone!

I’m really picky with my hair. It’s been 2 years since I last did anything with it. I opened Unilocal and they had all excellent reviews. And turns out one of the reviews was from someone I know. So I decided to chance it. Scheduled the earliest available appt for today, didn’t even ask who was gonna do my hair.
Nani did my hair and let me just say OH MY GOSH I am in love with it! Literally first time ever that I’ve actually completely loved the end result. It’s either a little too short (cuz people cut it shorter than I want then tell me «it’s gonna grow out fast») or it’s the wrong color or its crooked… Blah blah blah.
But Nani took the time and helped me figure out what to do. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted just knew I wanted something different. Usually the person gets frustrated with me and doesn’t even give advice. Nani gave advice and on top of that it was what I forgot I wanted. Lol
Like the layers I knew what I wanted but didn’t know how to put it into words. But she nailed it. And the color. I only asked for caramel and red but really wanted blonde also but didn’t wanna seem like wtf kind customer. But she offered the blonde w/​o me asking. And she nailed the color also. And she gave tips on how to style my hair.
Like she asked if I use a hair dryer or flat iron I said no. So she gave tips on how to style my hair using the methods I already do (which is air dry). Lol I lazy. (((She said after I wash it, gel it and roll sections in cut towel pieces and tie it. Then dry half way, sleep then when I take it out in the morning it’ll be wavy))) I can’t wait to try it.
So anyways sum it up…
Nani is so professional, nice, and she nailed my style and color WITH NO PICTURES!!!
The owner Moun is really nice too. I feel like they all are just very down to earth local style but super professional at the same time.

I was originally going to go to one of those chain salons but decided to check Unilocal to see if there were other salons (with better ratings) in the area. I was pleasantly surprised to see Kapolei Salon pop up! I called as soon as they opened for an appointment and was able to get in just a half hour later.
It has been a while since Ive gotten my hair cut and it was pretty long! I wanted to chop it off but I was pretty nervous too. Raedon listened to exactly what I wanted and was reassuring the whole time. He did a great job cutting and styling my hair and also gave me good advice for how to maintain my new, shorter locks. He was also very nice and friendly – he made it a point to make conversation.
I am so glad to have found a salon this amazing so close to home. I will certainly be returning. And Im already recommending Kapolei Salon to everyone I know!

Long over due… got the works done! Seriously, everything but a Gel Mani/​Pedi and it was under $ 250! We are talking total body waxing, hair cut, color, conditioning, color toning, you name it! Smokin good deal and worth every penny! My curls are rocking and I’m ready for Pro Bowl parties ;)
Thanks to all the ladies at the salon, they were so nice and helpful! And amazingly quick. I will not let it go so long between visits. Mahalo Ladies!!!

I feel like such a dummy. And I Owe Kapolei Salon my sincerest apologies. Somehow I left my poor review for another salon on their page about a month ago. I don’t know how I selected the wrong place but I am incredibly sorry for my mistake. I just looked at my past reviews and realized my mistake. You guys have wonderful reviews from actual customers and my poor experience was at a salon near you but definitely not this salon. The one I am referring to is actually a chain salon. So sorry :(I look forward to doing business with you soon and hope I didn’t cause any trouble or loss to your business

This place is amazing!!! I love how my ombré came out. My stylist Moon really did an amazing job. And the staff is super friendly, easy to talk to!!! I had too much fun getting my hair done. And their prices are so good I can’t believe she did my ombré for such a great price!!! Thank you Moon!!! You are the best

Came in today which was my first time since they moved to the new location — love the salon décor… Moun been my go to for several years … –Moun did her magic got me looking fabulous (blonde ombré) with a lil trim and of course gotta get the nice blow out flat iron touch with a curl great touch «a very happy customer service»

I’ve seen three different stylists at Kapolei Salon within a month and they were all amazing! Cheryl did my cut & it turned out just the way I wanted it. Nani did my ombré/​balayage beautifully and Kelly toned my roots within a week of doing my ombré and took me in for a last minute appointment (I really wanted to do it that day so I’m grateful for that!) They were patient, kind, & professional. Never once have I felt like they were rushing. They communicated well with me to make sure they understood what I wanted. It feels like going to a girlfriend’s house! I finally found my go to salon and better yet, it’s only a 5 min drive from my house. Thank you Kapolei Salon!

My 1^st visit was with Nani. I arrived undecided with what I wanted to do, other than a trim. She was wonderful helping me decide on my colors. Very personable and never rushed. I love how my colors came out, will definitely return.

Moun gave me a last minute haircut and was able to take me without an appointment and I got a two or three compliments on my haircut and that never usually happens.
All and all an excellent place where you will get excellent treatment and a great hair cut.
