Spec’s is always consistent. Clean stores, Good prices and Good selection. The staff is always helpful and if they don’t know the answer, they will get you someone in the store that does. I enjoy reading their recommendation cards in the red wine sections and have found them to be very accurate.

Very dissappointed. Prices have recently gone up 30% or more. ie «Berringer Moscato» recently went from $ 7+ to $ 10+ and is still $ 7+ at Krogers, Fiesta, and HEB. The Specs mgr Will Green will not match pricing and this is the 3rd request. I have found him to be arrogant, coniving and uncooperative. Susan, the gen. manager, has been very cooperative for years but I stopped my trips once before due to Will and must do so again. We have found Scotch(ie Passport) and Bourbon are now cheaper at the corner mom and pop liquor stores.

This is one of the smaller Spec’s that are located about the Houston area. Smaller does not mean lacking in stock of spirits. The stock may not have the variety of the granddaddy of all Spec’s downtown but you’ll not leave wanting. Wall to wall, this Spec’s sells almost any wine, whiskey and mixer that you could need. If you’re a beer person they have many beer types and brands. While looking for meads we were extremely happy to find they had two varieties of Enchanted Manor Winery’s meads, which is our favorite mead. They also have Thorin’s Viking mead and it’s also excellent. The layout is organized and labelled well. This Spec’s sells cheeses, salamis, crackers, European type cookies and candies. The selections are decently varied but not immense. As with all Spec’s when you pay with cash or debit you get a discount. The prices on products are labelled regular and cash payment discount prices. The service is friendly and efficient. The store is clean and well kept. It’s a cool place to browse or buy and come back to.
