TexasSno – New Orleans Style Snoballs

Amazing! One of my favorites! They have more flavors than any snowcone place I have seen and many toppings to choose from. Always friendly staff and owner! Definitely my sweet place!

We had all our sno-​cones this summer from Texas Sno! They were delicious!

These guys have some really tasty ice cold treats!!! Great on a hot summer day, you know you want some!!!

If I could choose 3 ½ stars I would, but not quite 4, because they put way too much syrup and also the ice is a little too fine, it tastes okay on your first few bites, but then it starts melting immediately. But the sizes are decent. And I do like that you can stuff it with ice cream, or put a drizzle of something.
The favors are also named so you don’t know what is in it. So you have to ask what is in each flavor. So it is a little frustrating deciding what you want cuz who knows what is in the Spider-​Man or tropical storm or Cinderella.
We might come back cuz it’s by a friends house and sometimes it gets too hot outside. But it’s definitely not on the top of my list.

Insane selection of flavors but some with weird names, so you either have to look it up on the «products» section of their website or ask when you’re there…

Love the silver fox, leche and the vampire blood! The old favorites like tigers blood and strawberry are there as well! Or even dill if you’re into that lol!
The toppings are good but I usually just prefer the ice and flavors!

I have been to a lot of sno cone places but this by far is one of my top three in the USA. The ice is what makes a snow cone and this place has got it down. Never disappointed me in three years

Love, love, love this place. The snowballs are always on point. Great customer service and friendly employees. My family and I visit this place at least twice a week during the summer months and even a few times in the fall (they are open;-))!!!
My only complaint would be the speed of service. I’ve noticed in general they are pretty fast. Your order is taken immediately and shortly there after you have a special treat. The exception is when the owner is there. Unfortunately she slows the service and always mixes up the orders:-(

I got a mango with chamoy and it was LOADED with syrup. I have no idea how anyone could eat this. I had about 3 bites and that was enough sugar for me. The flavor was good, but just too much syrup. Next time I’ll ask for less. They’d probably look at me funny but oh well.

I am updating my review. This place deserves 5 stars, no doubt. Talk about costumer service… I gave an honest review with feedback (there were a few minor kinks in service, etc. the first visit) and the owner messaged me immediately apologizing and asking me to give them another try. So I did… and thankfully so, this place is marvelous. Takes me back to my summers at LSU. Thank you thank you thank you! You’ve earned yourself a repeat customer!

Absolutely LOVE this place. Always a smile and friendly face when you walk up, and the snow is the BEST! So many flavors and even toppings to add on. If you haven’t tried this place out, you’re missing out!

I absolutely love this little snow cone stand, it’s a small business and very tiny but they make the best snow cones in Texas hands down! I’ve tried them all over and they just taste like Ice. Here though, my goodness the snow cone is like soft snow, and the flavors are amazing ! They have about 30 – 40 flavors and special flavors during some part of the year. The owner is such a sweetheart and is very polite, please support this small business!!!

I have a shave ice addiction. We visit Hawaii annually so only 1 time a year do I get to fulfill my craving of shave ice (yes in Hawaii it is «shave» ice, not shaved ice). Flipping through the Unilocal pages I find the reviews of TexasSno and I’m curious. Do they have shave ice that is as fine as the places in Hawaii? YES THEY DO!!! Their Snoballs are sooo fine that it literally melts on your tongue with each bite. No large chunky ice here. And the condensed milk on top and ice cream on bottom is the ultimate! The flavor selection is a bit intimidating because you want to try them all!!! Luckly they do offer samples.
Thank you TexasSno for keeping a sharp blade and a spot in Katy. Do yourself a favor and give them a try!

This is the absolute best place to go!!! If I could I would go everyday no matter the weather

My first of many visits that I will be making here. I haven’t had a snowball such as this in the many years that I have lived here in Houston and its almost around the corner from the crib. Another good place that has been recommended by the Unilocal community around Katy.
I didn’t use my $ 1 off check in coupon I will save it for a later date as my phone was really acting up while I was checking in. I got a scoop of ice cream stuffed inside of my snowball. It was so good it reminded me of the stands back home.
The way the weather is looking I will probably visit every weekend.

Very few businesses that I review on Unilocal get the prestigious honor of five stars. This place reminds me of Louisiana whenever we come by for snowcone. They’re not very many snowcone businesses that do what’s called «snowballs» which is a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream under the layer of snow cone. The flavor is always rich within the snowcone.
A lot of snowcone businesses use a cheaper brand of concentrate because I end up tasting mostly regular ice and all of the syrup is at the bottom of my cup but this place is not like that at all. What first peeked my interest in snowballs was when we visited a snowcone shop in Lake Charles Louisiana and I told my wife that we have to find a place like this in Houston and lo and behold thanks to the power of Unilocal there was a location right up the street from the Crib. This place is definitely going to be a frequented spot in this Houston heat. It’s a very small unassuming stand on the side of a gas station and unassuming suburban neighborhood but trust and believe that this place is very popular and Katy. It’s run by a mom and daughter team and they are always alter professional and I love the fact that they offer you one dollar off coupon through the Unilocal app. I wish more businesses would harness the incredible power of Unilocal like these businesses are smart enough to do. Definitely a great place to bring the kiddos and anyone that is a Louisiana transplant will fa sure enjoy this place it will definitely remind you of home

After looking at check ins and reviews from several of my fellow Unilocalers, decided to look this place up and visit for myself. When I arrived I greeted them and advised them of how popular they are amongst my Unilocal crew and they seemed shocked. With all of the combinations and flavors to try, I will be making several trips to this little Sno-​ball spot. One major plus for me is the «check-​in» special ($ 1 off). In addition to the check in special, they also have the «frequent buyer» card which allows you get a free snow-​ball after an «x» amount of visits. Check it out!!!

Anyone who has read my reviews on snoballs, snowballs, snocones, etc knows how picky I am.
So one Saturday afternoon, while my husband is working on my computer and I am very impatiently waiting (I told him to buy the full version of the OS and not the upgrade, but NOOOO), I decide it is probably for the best if I just step out of the house for a bit. My plan is to a get a quick car wash and then hit this place for a frozen treat.
The car wash was scary. Very scary. But that is for another review. I definitely need a treat after that though!
So they have a good bit of flavors and even a few cream flavors, but unfortunately my favorite cream flavor isn’t pre-​mixed, coconut cream. I guess I’ll need to get use to the fact that Texas stands will have few if any premixed cream flavors. I understand it takes up more space, but I guess I just got spoiled by the stands I grew up with in S. Louisiana. So I get the regular coconut and just have them add the cream on top.
So flavor? 5 stars. Seriously yummy and just had a mouth-​gasm after my first bite! This isn’t watered down and is intense!
Ice? So-​so. Creamy, but had a mix of big chunks. Edited to add: These chunks are not unshaved ice. They are shaved ice that starts to freeze back together so they are relatively easy to break up.
Amount of syrup? No «dry» spots that I could detect!
My only other comment is the spoon. Many of the local stands do this, but they need to understand that most of us can’t drive and use a spoon at the same time — especially myself since my car has a standard transmission! (Look Ma! No hands!) The other half of local stands only give you a straw. I need both or even just one of those straws that opens on one end to become a spoon are good options for those of us driving home after. Edited to add: The owner wrote and said that they do have straws, but I’ll have to ask for them.
Will I be back though? Of course! Especially since most stands have closed up by now when they should stay open until the daily highs are 50 °F!! Silly Texans! Just because school has started doesn’t mean it’s not HOT out there!

Okay… I know it is just a day later, but I could not stop thinking about getting another snoball! Yesterday, I dealt with the female half of the ownership, and today, I had the pleasure of dealing with the male half of ownership, plus their daughter. I have to say, that these people are beyond friendly… I can talk about how nice these people are, but I am sure you are curious to why I gave them the extra star!!!
I had a blind eye to the sugar free flavors yesterday. I NEVER see sugar free on a menu. That is such an evil word to whereas I never have the desire to let those words creep out my lips without having soap and a bible handy! The owner was so animate about making sure he had flavors that everyone could enjoy. That consideration alone made them earn the 5^th star. He knew people are health conscience more and more each day. He took lots of time to develop a wide assortment of sugar free flavors so those of us… well, them, with tiny waist could enjoy a New Orleans treat as well!
Also being considerate of others, he made sure to let people know he has Tajin spice for their snoballs. That is the spice that you find on top of a lot of Mexican candies… hard to describe the spicy, not so spicy, tangy, not so tangy taste of that spice, but he has it for all the people that make up the great state of Texas. I already mentioned that he has treats for dog lovers as well, just another example of him thinking about the entire family.
The owner also stated that he wanted people to experience all his flavors. He is offering samples of flavors so you can really know that you want it before you purchase it. This guy is looking to make sure you are not only a satisfied customer, but a repeat customer as well.
I can go on and on about the great experience I just had with this establishment but just know one thing… they made the snoball juicy, so that let’s you know how committed they are to excellence here!
