Established in 2011.

We had a dream of a health & wellness center, where the focus is on assisting in balancing mind, body & spirit. All in a beautiful, clean, quiet and safe environment. Kealakekua is an ancient place of healing. It means «pathway to the gods.» You can feel the serenity and experience the beauty as soon as you arrive.

Christine and Ken B.

Business Owner

Christine has trained and taught physical fitness & movement therapy most of her life. She holds a Masters Degree in Health Education and has worked at the Internationally known Wilhelm Schulthess Clinic (Olympic Center) in Switzerland.

Ken has trained in many aspects of health and healing and has developed a keen and intuitive sense as a therapist. His skills are helpful for resolving various imbalances and discomfort in the body.

Beware. This business is associated with a different address in Apple iPhone maps. It is listed as being in Hilo. The phone number associated with the Hilo address connects to the location in Kona. The owner must not be aware of this… They charged us 50% of the massages we were supposed to have at no fault of our own. Poor business ethics.

Susie is one of the most enlightened humans I’ve meet. She gave me the best facials of my life! Susie is very knowledgeable about health. She always answers any of my questions and if extremely helpful. My skin felt amazing! They use a all organic basically raw face line thats made from herbs thats grown by a local farmer in the high mpuntains of Colorado. The products are out of this world and at a decent price! I wouldn’t go anywhere else or have anyone else do my facials other than Susie. A beautiful spirit she will have you leaving feeling refreshed happy and inspired! Thank you so much Susie for everything!

A Hawaiian miracle happened at Island Spirit Healing. I called at 2pm on the rare chance I could get a couple’s massage that day… at 5pm. Not only were they able to make it happen, it was a great experience.
My massage was fabulous. I get massages pretty frequently at home and thought it was a TERRIFIC. My husband also had a great masseuse who could read him like a book. He’s had some back injuries (including surgery) and the gentleman was able to tell instantly what pain he had been feeling.
All in all, if you’re for a great massage at a reasonable price in a small but great spa… check out Island Spirit. I loved it.

I got a gift certificate for Christmas for a massage package. Beautiful place very professional but also very personable. Ken worked on me and I was more than pleased. I didnt feel rushed and was very pampered. My husband goes all the time and loves. Also got a gift certificate for my senior mom and she was impressed.

What a gorgeous healing sanctuary! My husband and I saw Christine and Ken for massages– both particularly skilled as well as loving/​calm energy. My prenatal massage was absolutely lovely, healing, relaxing. I received an awesome facial too and walked out of there feeling melted. We only wish we had booked services earlier in our trip so we could have gone back :) the location and part of the island they are in is also really beautiful and feels very sacred. Enjoy!

We did the couples massage and really loved it. Good massage and great room. Even better for us it was close to the area of our hotel. Both therapist were very good and knew their craft. We wanted the local lomi lomi style and enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend this place to others.

I felt immediately comfortable with Ken. He is a true gift from heaven. He is an intuitive healer and you not only get the body work you need but if you’re open to it he’s asks you the most powerful questions to assist you in healing emotionally as well. Highly recommend the loving atmosphere he provides and long with his wife Christine.

Having not been to the Big Island in four years, it was exciting to come across Island Spirit. The layout of the space was very accommodating, with the rooms being 2 or 3 times bigger than what I’m used to on the East Coast. It was apparent that this was designed by people who put the experience first and not by a corporate machine. Right as you walk in, the staff make you feel like family. There are some great locally made essential oils and jewelry available as well. With coffee and avocado trees growing just out the back lanai, it really enhanced the spirit of being on the island. Also, just found out that the same couple that operate this are starting a massage school as well. This is exciting because it shows me just how dedicated to massage therapy they are!

Very much enjoyed our time here. Not only was the massage wonderful, but the atmosphere of the entire building matches the relaxing experience.
I was really uncomfortable with the thought of being massaged, as I have never had one before, but all of the ladies made me feel very at ease and welcome. I left not regretting a thing.
My one wish is that they would offer slightly better Kama’aina rates. I would be here every Saturday if they did!

Vacation mode quickly left me, so excuse the delay in sending my absolute accolades to this lovely little day spa just off Mamalahoa freeway. P. s. excuse the spelling too, because apparently, I am worse than Siri when it comes to understanding and speaking Hawaiin. I love Unilocal for the premise that it really allows folks and businesses to hear from their customers and the folks that come through their doors. Ken and Christine are the owners of this day spa, and not only are they lovely, attentive and offer a relaxing environment, their treatments indicate they are sharply at the forefront of alternative therapies and treatments. It’s rare to find a place that has an amethyst bio-​mat, they have one, and its amazing. The massage I received was restorative and relaxing. The entire place smells nice. Overall, if you are on the Big Island, and want a true experience, not a spa that focuses more on sending you to its amenities, but really instead customizes treatments to the person. They are a great place to visit.

Just marvelous! Therapists who are a master of their trade and use their good energy (karma) during the treatment. High, if not impeccable, standard of hygiene. Treatments are tailored to particular needs. Exceedingly flexible for all intents and purposes.

When I walked into the salon today I was greeted by Christine and Ken. The aroma and energy in the space they have created is relaxing and inviting. As part of the holiday special my friend and I received a 75 minute massage in addition to detoxifying aftercare. I hold stress and grief in my back and shoulders. Christine was intuitive and thorough. She is indeed a healer. My friend said afterwards that Ken gave her the best massage she has had in her 58 years of life! This spa is truly a blessing. It is refreshing to meet owners that place quality and care as priority. I look forward to more healing at the Island Spirit Healing Spa and recommend it without reservation.

What a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. As soon as you walk in the relaxation starts. My massage was the best! I enjoy deep tissue massage; sore shoulders and neck. Shavaun, my therapist did exactly what I wanted — from head to toes. I would highly recommend Island Spirit Healing Center and Day Spa — give a gift certificate to someone you like — that’s how I got introduced to center. Mahalo!!!

What a beautiful nurturing and healing Spa Ken and Christine have created. I have been in for numerous healing massages over the past 4 years. I always come away feeling blissful and relaxed! I highly recommend this lovely Spa. In addition to their masterful skills they are extraordinarily personable, kind and caring. In fact I had an incredible massage just yesterday for my birthday!

After a week of serious hiking in Volcano National Parks, I was ready for a massage. I booked a 90 minute session with Ken and emerged a new and reinvigorated woman. Small, elegant spa, excellent, intuitive, and healing hands. Will return my next visit to Big Island. Highly recommended!
