Cupcake Loco

These are the most delicious cupcakes I’ve ever had — and I consider myself a bit of an aficionado. The strawberry shortcake is my favorite. My second favorite is the strawberry vanilla! The couple that was running the counter were very friendly and knowledgable. The establishment itself is clean, cute, and inviting.
Highly recommend!!!

My friend had these cupcakes at her wedding shower and they were AMAZING. All the things you want in a cupcake: medium size, moist, flavorful, perfect icing pairings, etc. They just looked so pretty at the shower that I am keeping them in mind for any future events!

I have not tasted a better cupcake. Always fresh with a great variety of options to choose from.

I’ve been eyeing this cupcake place for a while.
Came in on a Saturday afternoon, at first I was confused as to where the line started, once I found the register somebody came over to help.
I ordered 2 red velvet, a vanilla bean, and a strawberry shortcake. The lady at the register was very friendly and helpful. I asked if they had banana flavored cupcakes for my boyfriend and she said no but suggested other flavors. It was a pleasent surprise because sometimes bakery helpers can be snotty. She was nice to talk to.
Anyhoo, cupcakes came in a cute little box with the logo which helped to keep them from moving around on the car ride back which was convienant.
I tried the red velvet and let me tell you I was less
than impressed. The cupcake tasted like they added too many eggs to the batter and the frosting tasted super sour. Maybe the baker just had an off day because the vanilla bean was delicciousss. Cupcake was moist and flavorful. Frosting had a slight vanilla flavor without being too rich or sour.
I have yet to try the strawberry shortcake. I really wish they made real buttercream frosting but thats hard to find nowadays anyway it seems.
I will definately be back for that vanilla, I guess I’d give the red velvet another try but it was awful. They said the strawberry shortcake is their best seller so I’ll give it a taste tomorrow.

Cupcakes: red velvet gets a 0 in taste and texture, vanilla bean gets an 8.

Delicious cupcakes that are super moist and fresh. Everything was made today so they are fresh. Great friendly staff were helpful with our kids. Easy to use payment system that texts the receipt to you. Nice and modern place.

Bought the sea salt caramel. It was the moistest cupcake I ever had. It’s next door to my husband’s chiropractor so he’ll get us cupcakes whenever he goes to visit his chiropractor. Yum yum!
The customer service was exceptional. He went in the back to get the flavor I wanted even though it wasn’t the flavor they had that day !!!

Thank you Sharon for going above and beyond with our Colorguard cake! It was so perfect and the glitter was so so pretty. Best cupcakes in Dfw as well! I’ve tried almost all and have yet to find one u don’t like! Go on Thursdays and try the Rum Coconut!

Absolutely amazing amazing cupcakes I didn’t imagine them being so great. Red velvet and sea salted Carmel way over exceeded my expectations I will most definitely be back!!!

Super pretty and yummy cupcakes. Decided to do these for a birthday party instead of a cake — got a mixed selection and everyone snatched them up. The salted caramel cupcake and the strawberry cupcake seemed to be the overall faves although our son is very into vanilla and he really enjoyed his vanilla bean cupcake. Yum!

First off I love there cupcakes. All the flavor’s are wonderful. I give cupcakes as gifts all the time. But today I went in and I didnt recognize the man behind the counter. He was rude. I ordered and I asked for a blue box with ribbon and stated it was for a birthday party. He said it was his 1^st day and he didnt know where the boxes were. I asked him nicely if he could look in the back. He said No. I was taken back because every other time I have came to this location they are usually so friendly. I was very disappointed.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here on my birthday (Feb 13^th) because a closer cupcake place had absolutely no selection. I was craving cupcakes for my birthday so we called Cupcake Loco and I immediately got a great first impression over the phone. The lady that answered told me exactly what selection they had, mentioned special «Saturday flavors», and was extremely warm and welcoming.
We rushed over and there were 2 women working in the store. It was towards the end of the day and also the day before Valentine’s Day so their selection was a tad wiped. The lady that helped us recommended some flavors and also said if there was a flavor they didn’t have that I wanted, they would whip some up for us as quick as possible. I thought that was amazing! I’ve never been to a cupcake place that offered to make something they were out of, on the spot. That earned major kudos with me! We selected 6 different flavors that they had already made (chocolate with vanilla, vanilla, lemon cheesecake, red velvet, Carmel, and strawberry shortcake). I have to say I absolutely despise anything «lemon flavored» but there was something about that lemon cheesecake that I loved! I would say that, and the strawberry shortcake were my favorites!
Overall it was a great experience and they had amazing service! I appreciated them so much on my special day!

The lemon cupcakes are my favorites. Vanilla is a close second. In my opinion the chocolate flavors are not their most successful menu items. I wish they made miniature cupcakes, that would probably entice customers to purchase a wider assortment of different flavors.

I walked in at 5:28 on a Thursday evening, literally minutes before they were set to close. The cupcakes had been taken out of their cases and stored in the back. Just as I thought it was probably better to come back later, a nice woman appeared from the back room and encouraged me to order some of their cupcakes. She shared that the strawberry shortcake and coco loco were their two most popular flavors. I took one of each and threw in two vanillas as well. I mentioned how my young daughter would be excited that I was bringing home cupcakes– and the nice worker offered to add something special to her cupcake (a flower, or sprinkles, etc.). I thought that was a very nice touch to this great experience. There are a handful of everyday flavors and then each day bring a couple of unique options to try (coconut, sea salt caramel, lemon, etc.). The store, while small, was clean and smelled wonderful (duh).
The prices were very reasonable — $ 3 per cupcake and they really are a good sized cake. You can save by purchasing a half or full dozen. They have a great web site that lists the prices and flavors by day.
So yeah, the cupcakes. They were fantastic! I had the strawberry shortcake and it was sooooo good. It had fresh strawberry preserves draped all over the sides and the buttercream frosting was excellent. This was one of the best cupcakes I’ve eaten — and I’ve tried some of the more «popular» destinations like Magnolia in NYC and Sprinkles in Beverly Hills. My wife raved about the vanilla cupcake, said it was delicious.
We will be coming back to Cupcake Loco.

A friend of mine grabbed some (4) cupcakes for me and my daughter when we were set out to meet her for lunch. It was one of the best cupcakes that we have ever tried. It was not overwhelmingly sweet like other cupcakes from other shops. We will definitely stop by when we have some sweet cravings. Highly recommended.

Awesome cupcakes! My favorites so far are the key lime and the strawberry shortcake. Yummy! Its way to close to the house tho!

Not the most amazing cupcakes ever, but I do appreciate they are a normal size and not ginormous. The double chocolate was average however the Carmel was extremely tasty.

We just had cupcakes delivered to our office for a meeting. They were on time, beautiful and delicious! Yum!

Needed last minute cupcakes for a friend’s birthday and found Cupcake Loco. I’d just left my nephew’s soccer game in Keller and this place had the most stars. When I walked in there, there was a customer raving about the salted caramel cupcake. So I preceeded to order a half dozen for my friend and I couldn’t decide between the salted caramel and Margarita Tequila and yes people it has tequila. So the owner Sharon let me, my mom and sister sample the salted carmel. We ended buying 13 cupcakes. You can’t go wrong with any flavor!

Holy cupcakes! I have cupcaked at all the «best» cupcakeries and this place is a hidden gem! I have never had such amazing cupcakes! Super moist cake with lots of frosting and the flavors are spot on. We tried lemon cream cheese, chocolate, coco loco, and orange sherbet. My fav by far was the lemon cream cheese and chocolate followed close behind it. These cupcakes made me wish that every day was my birthday and cupcakes had no calories.
I also have a feeling that if they handed out samples like a lot of other bakeries do, they would sell more cupcakes. I would have bought more if I had known how good they would be.

Let me just say, I totally dropped the ball when scheduling to pick up my cupcakes for my daughters 1^st bday (scheduled on a Saturday and they are closed on Sunday). Not only did it slip my mind, but my daughter dropped my phone in the bathtub that very morning so I unfortunately didn’t receive any phone calls from cupcake loco. Later that day I was able to get my phone working and saw many messages and realized I had missed the only time to pick them up before her bday party that next day. I was so freaked out, but I called them back and spoke with the nice owners and they were so great and agreed to come up on Sunday the day they are off to let me pick up my cupcakes! Just made my day!
Now let’s talk about the cupcakes I ordered. First let me say, I am not a huge cupcake fan, but I was getting these for her party and most people love cupcakes, so I figured why not. We chose the strawberry shortcake, the coco loco cupcakes and some mini’s for the kids. I had originally planned to make my daughters smash cake, but when I picked these up, all I could think was WOW those strawberry shortcakes were show stoppers and I decided to give my daughter one of those instead. I can’t explain how freakin delicious these were! Just so amazing, not too sweet, but just like a perfect blend of strawberry cake, strawberry sauce drizzled over whip cream (which is the topping instead of traditional frosting). Everyone wanted one! They were so good! The coco loco’s were absolutely delicious! Rich chocolate cupcake with caramel in the middle, yummy! But definitely my fave was the strawberry shortcake and I will be ordering these for future birthdays!
