They recently did a photoshoot of my kids at their pre school in Allen and it was a joke. The whole session was delayed with 2 year olds beind made to pose as lunch was nearing. The hungry kids were fussy and they shoot went on with their disheveled hair and outfits. Way to ruin a memorable occasion.

If you are looking for an intro DSLR class this is where you want to be. I came into the class already knowing a bit on how my DSLR works, however that is not what the class is about. The instructor gives the class the tools necessary tools to quickly determine on how to best shoot with what you have. If you own a $+500 camera this is a great place to learn how to accomplish the shoot you visually picture.

Barbara Berry is an amazing photographer! She has the ability to see what others cannot, that is the inside of a person and she reaches down deep and brings it to life in the fore front of her subject in her beautiful photography, that’s what makes her an award winning, Master Photographer! She has done many sessions with me, my family photos, my grandson and most recently my daughter’s wedding. My daughter has said for years that Barbara was shooting her wedding, that she just would not have anyone else on such an important event! Barbara did shoot her wedding, and there is an amazing story told in photography of a beautiful love, courtship and marriage! Of a day her and her husband will never forget, and will look at for many many years to come. Thanks Barbara, for your dedication to photography! For your attention to the littlest detail in capturing a photo that will live on for decades in our lives and eyes of others!

Attended a basic photography class after purchasing an expensive camera. It was very informative. Decided to have photos of my daughter made. Loved them!!! The studio is beautiful! Will definitely be returning!

I used a group on to take a photography class here. It was a great experience. Barbara was dynamic and engaging. She gave us nice reference books to use at home. While there I signed up for her online class. The online experience was very good as well. It taught me so much. My photography has improved immensely. I still use the class materials as reference. Barbara truly sparked a love for photography in me.

This is one of the best studios in Texas. The talent and professionalism are beyond expectation. Barbara doesn’t only have an amazing talent for photography, she is also extremely friendly and pleasant. She’s managed to capture some beautiful photos of my 3 month old mist his many baby moods! I had all five of my children’s portraits done at Legacy Studios. I found Barbara, the studio’s master photographer, courteous; professional and quite genuine. The way she engaged my kids really brought out the best in their personalities, and resulted in timeless portraits that we’ll treasure as family heirlooms.
Legacy Studios isn’t cheap. Barbara is a real artist, and her art is capturing a subject’s personality, then rendering it in a way that is both honest and attractive. I found that the images I received, as well as the experience I enjoyed, represented an amazing value that I will definitely return to for all my photography needs.
By the way, Barbara is also a lot of fun!
While I didn’t commission this kind of work, her studio contains numerous examples of work that spans architectural and relationship photography. In fact, her «makeover» work, which captures female beauty at almost every life stage, is stunning.
Book early, though. Legacy fills up fast.

Barbara is an amazing master photographer. She has an art for capturing feelings in her shots. We will never go to another studio again. The quality of her work is exceptional and our pictures came out beautiful. Check out her new studio in Keller Town Center it’s gorgeous and setup to accommodate any picture needs from baby pics, senior pics, family, couple shots and anything in between! If you are new to the DSLR, a beginner, and want to get out of shooting in AUTO mode and into using the Manual Mode, this is the BEST class in the metroplex. It begins with explaining the basics of ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed. She is there to answer questions and has helpers during the class to make sure everyone is understanding their own cameras and how to set the ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed. Then there are two set-​ups where we had hands-​on using our own cameras and taking shots of a shallow DOF and a deep DOF. This was very helpful in understanding when to use which and how to manual mode.
Wonderful Class and highly recommend it to anyone new to shooting with a DSLR camera.

I recently attended one of Legacy Studio’s photography classes, purchased through Groupon. I was very unimpressed… hardly worth the $ 50 I spent for it. Barbara honestly makes no effort to ensure that people in the class are actually learning and gaining practical information. The «hands-​on» exercises were pathetic. She obviously doesn’t care less who accomplishes what. Then, predictably, there’s the effort on her part to SELL you on her products. Maybe her photography business/​skill is great, I don’t know, but I definitely would not recommend her classes.

I bought a class/​photo safari combo deal on groupon last year. As I see these deals come around again, I thought I might share my thoughts on the value offered. It was an intro class, so I didn’t expect it to go too in depth. She was just a bit late getting started, spent quite awhile talking about herself and her history as a photographer, and then cut the instruction time early to answer pretty basic camera questions one on one with students. I did not find this to be a great use of the time paid for and would have preferred to have spent the duration of the time advertised in actual instruction.
She did give us a nice booklet of information to take home. It was pretty basic stuff that you could find by Googling, though, having a handy booklet was a nice bonus.
I was probably most disappointed with the two hour «Photo Safari». We chose the «Dallas» Night Safari, however, her idea of «Dallas» was apparently Grapevine. (SO not the same.) We met at the Gaylord Texan (which charges you plenty for parking unless you dine/​shop there). Inside, she had us gather around while she chatted for a bit. I have no trouble hearing in general, but given the ambient noise and the size of the group, it was near impossible to hear much of what she was saying.
The ad said we would «visit and shoot city landmarks». All we did, however, was walk outside the Gaylord hotel and photograph the exterior. That’s it. I’m not sure I would call that a «Safari» nor would I pluralize the word «landmarks» in the ad as we only saw one side of one building. As she was the only instructor and it was a pretty good sized class, she could not spend much time with any one student.
Given that I thought I was signing up for a «Dallas Night Safari» where I would photograph «city landmarks», snapping photos outside of the Gaylord was pretty disappointing.
The price was not terrible, considering the hours included, but the value was just not what I was expecting. She was nice and I believe she likely knows her stuff when it comes to photography, but I did not learn any more than I could from a simple Google search and experimenting on my own.
My friend and I had fun, but that’s about all I can say. I can’t imagine paying the non-​Groupon or Living Social price for these classes, based on my own experience.
