We celebrated our daughter’s 4^th B’day party at Kidz Village. The party was well organized and the kids parade was something all the kids enjoyed. Also, the quality of the food served (specially Pizza) was very good. We would definitely recommend this place for hosting birthday parties for your kids.

We had our son’s 2^nd Birthday party their it was fun the only thing I didn’t like was the pricing for the number of kids it should be for 20 kids very thing else was great.

My three year old niece loves this place. There is a slide and tunnel small play area that she enjoys. It was clean and you can see the children play from a bench stationed directly in front of it. The place is fairly small and it includes a couple of arcade games as well. Only downside is that rooms tend to get very messy if it’s very crowded. It’s a bore for adults but the little one always has a good time here.

Such a nice place to go to with the kiddos on this rainy day! There is a huge indoor playground, lota of pretend play rooms! Small area to eat and serves pizza, fries, etc. Very kid friendly here.

Place is pretty cool for toddlers. They have about 7 – 9 different theme rooms for the kids to play in.

Great place for kids of all ages. Lots for them to do. There is an arcade, climbing area and about 10 theme rooms where they can play make believe.

With the insanely cold weather that we’ve been having, I was looking for a place where my 2.5 year old son could run around and climb a jungle gym, since all outdoor playgrounds have been snowed in. We were VERY happy with Kidz Village. We went on a holiday weekend and got there a little after opening time 10 am.
Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly staff at the front desk. They stamp your and your kid’s hand then buzz you in. There is a big walk-​in coat closet where you can leave your coats. The first thing we saw when we entered was the jungle gym which although was only one side of the facility had a lot of nooks and crannies and areas for climbing and sliding down. Kids are asked to take off their shoes to protect the jungle gym and there are small cubbies. (As it got really crowded around 12:30 pm, they ran out of cubby space and shoes were all in a pile, but I’m sure everyone finds their shoes in the end.) There is only one jungle gym for all the kids so you’ll see bigger kids (5 year olds) mixed in with toddlers. I would recommend this jungle gym for 2.5 years old and up. Anything younger than that, an adult would need to accompany them, and when it gets crowded, it can get crazy in there.
Kidz Village reminds me of one of those children’s museums where they have pretend play areas. There’s a tiny movie theater where kids and parents can watch the DVD that is currently playing (I could barely hear the sound though), a ‘50s style diner which was very cute, a baby area with baby dolls, strollers, washing machine and piano, hair salon (with mannequin heads that the kids can style) — I thought this was so much fun and funny to watch, supermarket area well stocked with play food items, and handyman tool area. There is also a comic book area that I wasn’t sure of, but it did have a bin of superhero costumes (they smelled a little musty — just need to throw them in the laundry and they’ll be good to go). They can probably use that space for something else (a music room perhaps!) — make another area for younger toddlers and babies to play in, as there is really just a small room for that age group and nothing else. It also has a small arcade which is perfect for toddlers and anyone 6 and younger. Tokens are extra but not too crazily priced — 2 tokens per game and you get tickets that you can use to redeem small prizes. There are two crane games that you can play until you win — the one that has small blow-​up balls is the best deal. There is a netted ball area where kids 4 and up can «shoot» balls at each other.
The food in the «cafeteria» area was pretty good and prices weren’t too crazy. We tried the French fries (light and crispy), chicken tenders (great!) and personalized pizzas (pretty good! they make them on the premises).
What I liked most is that it felt safe since the stamp on a parent’s hand must match what’s on the child’s hand (they use blacklight to view the stamp), in order for both to leave the premises — they are buzzed out.
Best thing is to go early — it’s easier to keep an eye on your kids on the jungle gym then. It got very crowded around 12:30 pm. I would definitely go back to this place with my son.

Took my 2.5 yr old and 9 month old here this past weekend. First of all they have an all children wear socks policy, yet you see parents walking around the carpeted areas in their shoes which defeats the whole purpose of children being in socks only. I felt grossed out felt like it was only a matter of time my children were going to catch germs. I was inspecting their toys and they were not sanitized and cleaned. we only lasted less than an hour there. There are better cleaner indoor play space areas in norther jersey I would recommend.

My three year old loves this place — she can run around unabated for hours throughout the place. I’m far too much of a yuppie to eat the food, which is very greasy roller rink style food. We go here when it’s too hot or cold to be outside. You have to watch your kid, which is good because they are having a good time and not being hovered over by employees, which would be a teenage girl likely.

I dig this place. It is a very 90s type of kids recreational area. You won’t find employees hovering over you, and prices are good! At the same time though, you have to look after your child a bit more here.
I know its not a theme park but this place is like the anti-​Disney or anti-​Sesame place. Kids village only charges for the child’s admission fee (which is reasonable as is) not the adults.
The food area is actually not horribly over priced and the chicken wings served here are actually quite juicy and good. If you come early enough in the day you can go out and eat at one of the many great restaurants in Kenilworth then come back.
The main attraction is the jungle gym. Probably it is best for you to accompany your kids in there unless they are over 4 years old. Otherwise your toddler runs the risk of bumping his head in the slides or trampled by bigger kids running thru the various tunnels.
Even if you join them, there are still no guarantees. Some 4 year old punk crawling ahead of me and my 2 year old decided to fart in the tunnel we were in. Also we had to maneuver around various pools of saliva (left behind by excited toddlers) while crawling around the jungle gym.
There is also a cannon ball shooting area which was loads of fun. You get to shoot tennis ball sized balls at each other. The sign by the area said 4 years and older only but I saw a lady with her 1 year old in there. No employees around to care. They all just adhered to the unwritten rule — cease fire when the baby is crawling in the line of fire. The balls are very soft and light though and don’t hurt. Probably the only way to get injured is if someone swings the cannon and hits someone else in the head or a 1 in a million chance direct hit to the eye.
This place has great potential but they need one or two more really fun play areas in my opinion. A kids shopping area filled with empty maxwell house ground coffee containers doesn’t count.
Dance dance revolution arcade game is a fun way for adults here to pass time. 3 songs of play in 2 player mode for only 50 cents. Too bad they don’t have street fighter 2.

No Party, No Deposit.
Due to Hurricane Irene, Kidz Vilage in Kennilworth closed on the one and only day I could have my Daughters party. Unable to reschedule within the next 2 months, I aksed for our $ 150.00 deposit back. The owner «Angela» basically told me, either reschedule or lose deposit. I would have thought that under the circumstances and the fact that I technically did not cancel the party, as the owner, she would have made an exception for a «hurricane». I feel like $ 150.00 was stolen from us and my daughter lost her party. Shame on you Kidz Village. I will never go there again and will tell everyone I know that goes there how you you run your buisness.

Another frozen day in NJ and needed to find a new spot for a playdate with a fellow Unilocaler.
We arrived at noon to find two school buses parked outside and dozens of elementary kids running around. Seemed like a fun place so we were excited to head in.
At first glance, it seemed promising. A slide and play area on your left as you walk in. Once you turn towards the right, you see a central path «street» with a half dozen rooms on each side set up as «stores» for the kids to play in. A diner, hair salon, grocery store, comic store and preschool on the left, with a laundromat, cinema, workshop and castle on the right. At the far end, video games.
It’s not until your child enters some of these rooms to play that you notice the flaws at this venue. For instance:
SLIDE AND PLAY AREA– poorly constructed for all ages and parent visibility. There are NO areas for children under three to climb, slide, play and even access. The layout makes it nearly impossible for a parent to accompany your child or watch them if you don’t.
DINER– why is there an actual microwave with a plug in this room? The diner concept in layout overall is cute, but I don’t see the need for a real microwave. Also, an Elvis theme in this room is a waste as Elvis was at least 40 years ago!
HAIR SALON– CREEPY! Severed mannequin heads staked onto a stick with a drop cloth tossed around them does NOT make a hair salon worthy of kids to play in. This room was never occupied. Reminded me of something out of a horror movie!
GROCERY STORE– someone had the bright idea to take their old, used groceries and bring the taped up empty boxes into a commercial venue to give this «store» an authentic feel. The issue is– WHO WANTS THEIR CHILD PLAYING WITH GARBAGE? Especially someone else’s! YUCK!
COMIC STORE– A couple of superhero stickers on the wall does NOT make a Comic Store.
PRESCHOOL– Again, someone’s old dilapidated toys tossed into a room does not make a preschool. I guess I should be thankful they didn’t add another creepy mannequin.
LAUNDROMAT/​HOME– Painted entirely pink, this room filled with toy strollers, high chairs and a laundry machine epitomizes the gender stereotypes the whole world seeks to escape. The most troubling part of this room– a sign on the wall that read, «Please do not plug in the fireplace». SERIOUSLY?!? They placed another dangerous appliance WITH a plug AND an available outlet in a CHILDREN’s PLAY area? IRRESPONSIBLE! AND– filthy! The laundromat had smudges and fingerprints that looked like it had not been wiped in weeks! YUCK!
CINEMA– Another creepy mannequin dressed as a ticket collector. FREAKY! Seriously looks like something out of Chucky. The Cinema itself had movie style chairs. The chair idea was cute, but not babyproofed for children under 4 who were constantly getting stuck in the chairs, falling through, or just trapped as the seat flipped up on them.
WORKSHOP– Cute.
CASTLE– What genius had the bright idea to set up guns that shot balls directly at the only entry/​egress to this room? A non-​babyproofed door combined with a printed out sign saying the room was only for 5 and up does not protect the children that play here, not to mention that a 5yo could easily be injured by these inappropriate guns in this room.
FURTHERMORE– Where the heck are the balls for the kids? How is there not a ballroom or bubbles or anything appropriate for small children.
OVERALL– Ridiculous. A good idea but extremely poorly executed makes this venue a NEVER AGAIN and NOT RECOMMENDED!

Love this place. Great indoor option for my seven year old to run around. Admission price is free for parents, 11 for kids. They have a little food area with pizza and nachos and stuff, a little pricey for snacks but it’s all good. All in all cute spot for they kids

We threw our 1 yr daughter’s birthday here. I was concerned about booking a place in the winter because of the weather. Of course there was a huge storm a week before her party, but there was a strong chance of snow to come the day of her party. I expressed my concerns and was given sarcasm and rudeness. I was not allowed to reschedule my party not unless it was 14 days prior, even though my guests were canceling. Yes, they would lose out on money, but it was a safety issue for us.
Reluctantly, we had the party. One of my guests almost got into an accident going home, and we had visibility issues driving home as well. And it’s not like I could ever know if it’s going to snow 14 days in advance.
But my complaint is really based on the sarcastic comments from one of the employees. She thought she was being professional but it was far from it, and as a paying customer who was never rude, I don’t except or will accept it. Just watch out for that fake bad weather policy because if Kidz Village is open, then you have to have your party whether you and your guests have trouble getting there or not. So risk your life if you want to, make sure you have snow tires.
Two other employees were quite nice and professional, but I will never step foot in this place again. I gave my free passes away.
Pros: Adults for free, not crowded like other younger children themed places; not too expensive
Cons: Cold pizza at birthday party; rude employee correspondence; slightly difficult to find

Went there today for the first time with my daughter and several of our friends and their toddlers. It’s a cute place, great option for a rainy day when you need a place for your kids to burn off some energy.
Pros:
Adults are free, cute activity rooms, clean, well staffed.
Cons:
On the small side, gets crowded and kids get trampled on.

Good place for older kids I guess. Went with my 18 month-​old since I was told there is an area for toddlers. There was nothing available for toddlers and the place is a zoo! Kids were running around everywhere and we had to leave. Thankfully they gave us a quick tour of the place, which was not laid out that great but allowed us to see whether it’s a good place for our daughter. Wasted drive since it far from where we live. Will be looking for more of a gym in the future so we can wear the little one down.

We attended a birthday party here with our 18 month old daughter. It was our first time and I was impressed with how fun, big, and convenient this place is. I like how open the space is. You are able to sit on the benches in the middle of it all and watch your kids play. There’s plenty of things for kids to do and enjoy. Our daughter really enjoyed the «grocery store.» the party room was also large enough to comfortably accommodate a large birthday party including lots of adults. The only negative is that the place got VERY crowded quickly. The arcade area in particular was very crowded and tight. Overall, our daughter had a great time and did not want to leave.

My little one (3 and half) and I have been here 3 times in 2 months. Kidz Village is a great time for the little ones. You can easily spend all day here if you have the energy to keep up with the kids. Although, 3 hours is my «No Mas» limit.
The indoor multi tier jungle Gym is definitely the Main Attraction. You can actually crawl/​climb through the thing with your child if you take your shoes off.
Beware, if it is a weekend and there are Multiple birthdays happening, this jungle gym gets crazy! I watch my kid because I want to make sure they don’t get stampeded in the Jungle Gym. The slide is really cool. The problem is that kids like to go down the slide in «Packs»
4 kids come down at once and it always ends up in tears. (Kids love it though)
not to mention kids that think its ok to lie on the floor directly under the slide exit (Parenting optional).
There are also a series of little rooms that have themes. A grocery store (empty plastic maxwell house containers, apple jacks cereal boxes) Kids love it
There is a 50’s Elvis 57 chevy themed diner with a little jukebox, its alot of fun.
The young people that work at the place are pretty nice.
I lost my iphone in the diner and one of the young ladies found me and returned it.
They also have arcade/​chuckie cheese type of games where they spit out tickets (skee ball)
We only had a few tickets, the girls behind the counter were sweet, tthey let my daughter have a 15 point candy necklace even though she only had 12 points.
I would definitely check this place out if you have kids 3+

Get pumped and get excited. Can’t even believe I am reading complaints about this place. Most moms on their daily momscapades will blow anywhere from $ 10-​only God knows. I know because I’m with you. First you need Gas, you hit all types of Walmarts and Dollar Hollars and at the end of that 3 hour trip you’re broke, sad, and disappointed that you have little to show for.
If the average mom has 2 ½ kids than your 3 hour trip to Kidz Village costs you $ 25. Now in order to stretch your dolla dolla eat lunch before you leave and get snacks there. Can’t bring outside food in so prepare to leave your A&P bag full of goodies in the car. It’s located in Kenilworth directly across from A&P. So on the way home you can grab whatever groceries you need.
Kids are most content when surrounded by their peers enjoying things that ids love to do like playing in pretend grocery stores and go on the jungle gym. Who cares if you like it?
