History

Established in 1980.

Doctor Mehta has been in practice since 1997, and in the current group since 2001. Dr. Mehta has an office practice in Kenilworth and performs endoscopic procedures at Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, and The Glen Endoscopy Center. Anesthesia is available routinely at St. Francis and The Glen. The more typical conscious sedation is used at Evanston or Glenbrook, although special arrangements can be made. A lifelong Chicagoan, Dr. Manoj Mehta performed his medical school studies, medical residency, and gastroenterology fellowship at Rush-​Presbyterian-​St. Luke’s Medical Center in the west side medical campus.

As a University of Chicago faculty member, he is active in the training and education of Evanston Hospital and University of Chicago residents and fellows. Dr. Mehta’s interests include inflammatory bowel disease, obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, small bowel disease, bowel stenting, and management of complicated reflux disease. He has advanced training in small bowel capsule endoscopy.

Dr. Mehta is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a firm believer in patient education and patient participation in health care decisions. He will typically lay out his thinking on a specific case, the available options, and help the patient to arrive at a treatment decision using a team approach.
