Was passing by this place when I decided to stop in for some take-out and a beer while I waited. While sitting at the bar, for the one beer, the bartender dropped the F-bomb more than a dozen times. She also went on a rant about a 6 yr old child asking about having white rice while dining with his grandparents. She called him a «fat spoiled brat», «rounder than he was tall», «a little fat piece of shit». She then went on the attack of the grandparents. Calling them«old…really really old», «too old to realize the kid needed less food». This was said loud enough for patrons to here while they sat and dined and watched here. «Then she goes on about her breast feeding tactics and a new hat for her baby. Oh with details about the hat… it looks like a breast. How does a restaurant put the queen of white trash out in front for customers? Not only the vile language but also the face piercings! Now while sitting for my order, the beer empty and waiting to pay for the beer, she takes a Facebook break and explains that it’s going to be a long night with no one coming into the bar, so she’s going to knit/crochet the baby breast hat. Then decided to rant on current and past employees, and then told a story about how she used to answer the phone in a very derogatory manor about her employer. The food was okay, however thinking about a woman going off about a 6 year old really got me thinking that the food could have been better. And to think… she’s breeding. Guess I don’t have to think very hard why the place will be empty

Sadly, just another pleasantly appointed restaurant that has no clue how to properly cook Tofu. Very dissapointed…

I stopped in at Mei Le Wah in Kennebunk for lunch takeout recently. I ordered the L1 Chicken Lo Mein with Pork Fried Rice & Spring Roll($ 6.50 plus tax), which was all set to go in about 10 minutes. The good lunch size portion of food tasted very fresh. The lo mein dish had a mix of soft noodles, big soft boneless chicken pieces, scallions, & onions, slightly oily texture. The fried rice was soft and had a mix of peas, carrots, onions, egg, & roast pork pieces. The spring roll(thin wrapper) was crisp outside filled with a mix of cabbage, carrot, & ground pork, similar to egg roll filling. I would order again from Mei Le Wah if I’m passing through the area.

I ate here a bunch, as a kid, back in the 80s — was sad to them them go, but now they are back. Most recently I had the Szechuan Tofu, which was delicious. The other entrees we ordered were also very, very good. Don’t let the first review sway you away — the food is good and consistent!
