Specialties
AKFSC teaches two styles of Kung Fu to kids and adults: Tibetan Lama Pai and Choy Lay Fit. We also specialize in full-contact Chinese Kickboxing and Fitness Kickboxing.
Lama Pai is an anti-grappling style that seeks to evade and strike an opponent from long range. In contrast, Choy Lay Fut is a 10-animal style combining movements that emphasize close range fighting, grappling, and throwing.
We specialize in Sanda, which is full-contact Chinese Kickboxing. Our Sanda fighters learn punching, kicking, grasping, and throwing techniques that prepare them for fighting in the Sanda and MMA arena.
Our fitness kickboxing program (Kung Fitness) is a great way to get in shape by increasing your cardio stamina, toning your muscles, and burning up to 650 calories per class! Sifu Russel is a great motivator and keeps the classes fun, intense, and always different.
History
Established in 2012.
AKFSC offers a fine balance of martial arts techniques, philosophy, and professional Kung-Fu instruction that makes our training unlike any other in Georgia. Students, ages 4 and up, can enjoy the physical and mental benefits of getting in shape while learning the ancient art of self defense in a style of martial arts unique to Sifu Russel and the Atlanta Kung Fu & Sanda Center.
With roots dating back thousands of years to Tibetian Temples and the Shaolin Temple in China, the Chinese Martial Arts of Lama Pai & Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu offer a perfect balance of powerful techniques and philosophy rich in the traditions of respect and inner strength.
In addition, we also offer Sanda (Full-Contact Chinese Kickboxing) and Kung-Fitness which is similar to a cardio-kickboxing class with a Kung Fu twist. You can enjoy the benefits of a fitness class while learning actual self-defense techniques.
