As with Forever 21, Heritage 1981 is cheap and has some great clothes. I agree with other reviewers that some of the clothes are cheaply made, but it is easy to sift through everything to find the good stuff. Half of my wardrobe consists of items from this store, and they have all lasted me a good while. The style is definitely a more simple version of what Forever 21 has to offer, and seems to be more appropriate for casual work wear.

The first time I ever visited a Heritage 1981 store was in Minneapolis at the Mall of America. I was impressed there because the clothes I saw were somewhat nice. However, this particular location just sets me off a little bit. First, the customer service is downright awful. They come off as rude and uninviting. Second, the clothes here are generally nice, but poorly made. Most of it is rather thin and has poor stitching in «warmer» clothing. For example, a cardigan I bought had both pockets’ seams torn after a single day of wearing. However, their shirts are really cool and fun to mix and match with other clothing items.

Ok, Colt C, I saw your review for this and you’ve inspired me to Unilocal it! Heritage 1981 is a part of the Forever 21 family. I will say that I get nervous if I’m actually almost too old to shop here, because I’m definitely ‘Heritage older than 1981.’ But I digress. Girl stuff: I’ve been here a couple times this year, and the more recent stuff seemed very much a hybrid between Anthropologie/American Eagle. Not sure if they are changing directions as to what kind of stuff they carry or if it’s just this fall season. But they carried things like little floral dresses(hello guys, I mean, seriously, they can only pull this off in fashion shoots. I know we’re in the South, but, really now.), sweaters and Pretty much I could envision myself with hot cocoa and in a log cabin wearing all of this. Everything errs on the casual side — go to F21 if you’re looking for work clothes or ‘go out’ shirts. Boy stuff: I took my boyfriend here as we were returning home from a roadtrip. He finally got to see this Forever 21-ish place I’d been talking about for so long. But did I mention he also bought seven shirts for under $ 100, too? Enough said.
