Franks-a-Lot

Good food, typical Chicago style hot dog stand. Fries can be hit or miss as far as a touch oily but I enjoy Franks and usually stop in once a week for lunch. They are quick and if you like ice cream they have a good selection as well!
2 dog deal with a pop and fries is a good deal.

It’s nice to know that there is a place in Kenosha where we can go when we want a good Chili Dog and Waffle Fries. Price was good and didn’t have to wait long!!!

The food, prices, and service are all good. What made me add the «extra» star, was their ice cream selection. This isn’t the pre-​mix garden-​style ice cream, but honest to goodness, quality, (maybe even gourmet) ice cream — good stuff.

Chicago style hot dog was the bomb! Love the pickles! Friendly service and clean restaurant! I hope this place sticks around, I want to come back to try the ice cream! Nom nom nom!

Another place I really wanted to like… Maybe I need to set the bar lower when checking out new joints?
I picked up take out for the family, so I got quite a few different things.
Cheese curds were good & not over breaded. Jalapeño poppers & the waffle fries were good too. Even though I literally had only 9 waffle fries in my order… When I opened the bag it was pretty disappointing for the price.
Everything else was pretty much a let down. The Italian beef was dry. The bun was dry. The cheese was hardly melted. Flavors were decent, but this could be an easy fix if they melted the cheese and asked how you wanted your sandwich. Dry, Wet or Soaked.
I ordered a side of cheese for the fries (not waffle fries) that came with the Chicago dog combo. Blargh… Pretty sure this is the same cheese that comes out of a bag that you’d find in a gas station cheese sauce dispenser. I’ll definitely pass in the future.
That leads us to the Chicago dog… Exactly the opposite of the Italian beef, this thing was a soggy mess. Bun was soggy, tomatoes were over ripe & tough. Overall flavor was decent, but I’m not a fan of soggy hot dogs.
I know this place is new, so I’ll give it another shot in a few weeks to a couple months. I’ll update my review accordingly with any changes. I was looking for a «go to» place like this in Kenosha & based off my first experience this isn’t it.

Love the hot dogs especially the Chicago dog! Love the hot peppers and the green relish. Got family fries and root beer. Noticed they had ice cream, pizza puffs and beef sandwich. Good food for the money!

Just had the State line combo. Italian beef over and Italian sausage. was Pretty good. this store replaced the cousins subs that was on the corner. Decent prices and the foods pretty good. they alos have tomales and vienna hot dogs.
