Kensington Service Center

Great guys, great place. Totally trustworthy. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

My recent experience with the full service gas station was pleasant. One guy pumped the gas and washed the back window while another guy washed the front windshield. They were friendly and worked quickly. The whole place is like stepping back in time. The dials on the gas pumps aren’t even digital! As an added bonus, they gave the kids lollipops. The cost is on par with other stations but even if it wasn’t, I would happily pay.

For a gas station, this is cool place. Feels like Mayberry.

It probably sounds a little strange to love a gas station, but I love this little station! It’s convenient, has the friendliest employees and very reasonable gas prices. I whipped in there yesterday to fill up and never had to set foot outside my car — I needed to fill the car AND my gas can for the lawnmower which had just quit on me mid-​mow. Irritating…so I ran up to Kensington Service Center and they were nothing but pleasant — plus, I felt like I’d fallen back into the 50’s — the Esso memorabelia is wonderful and I believe original from when the station was new. Also noticed they did service which I’d never noticed before — convenient! Thanks for being so friendly and right around the corner!

There’s a small hobbit hole right by the train tracks in ye Olde Towne Kensington, where if you drive through with enough treasure in ye carriage, the trolls who live there will fill up ye tank for only a small fee.
Which apparently only works for people above the age of 65, or who can speak troll. Or West Virginian, or wherever these people are from. I pulled up there paid in cash (the only form of payment gas-​trolls accept besides elderberries and psilocybin mushrooms). Actually, they accept cards, but cash is the only way one can get the «special cash discount.» These trolls not only charged me more per gallon, but did so with nary a smile, nor a jolly troll dance. The gas-​troll, took my money — failing to fill my tank all the way — then disappeared into his little hovel.
I ended up saving 3 more cents per gallon than the Shell on Knowles and Connecticut, but not as much as the 15 pence cheaper-​a-​gallon I found at the Tiger on University. Although, I think that was a pricing typo or something.
Anyway, if you have an axe to grind against big oil, come fill up here — where the trolls make the vile fuel themselves. You can stand to save a few dollars maybe, but the downside is that you have interact with them. By interact, I mean you have to pay them and then you have to watch them stand by your car as they fill it up.
Being from California, having anyone you don’t know standing next your car for more then 2 minutes — in any circumstance — is an odd experience. Now imagine how strange it is having a troll pump your gas. JK Rowling couldn’t even write this shit.
