Big Mike’s Golf Carts

I have a law firm in Kent and saw that Big Mike’s golf cart shop was near me. I was looking for a Club Car that I could customize. I drove down to Big Mikes and met with him to get a quote. He’s very friendly and knowledgable, and can do anything you want to a golf cart. He took me into his shop to show me the process and meet his mechanics. The quote he gave me was extremely reasonable and he gave me some good ideas to get the most value.
I decided to do some due diligence and got some quotes from every other golf cart dealer in the area. Here are my findings: Big Mike’s was the best quote and most responsive. One of the other dealers wanted $ 1000 for a back seat-​crazy! Mike was very personable and always got right back to me with answers to my questions. He was also the only dealer who explained the quote in detail, had a 12 month warranty and guaranteed satisfaction before full payment – he really wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied.
The cart was finished in one week! I got new paint, stereo system, new seats (including back), lights, wheels, tires, dash kit and new batteries. It was delivered to my house with a new charger. The mechanic who made my cart personally delivered it to me to ensure that all of my questions were answered and I was satisfied.
Big Mikes had a couple of bad reviews, so I was very blunt with Mike that I was concerned about that issue. I will give him credit because instead of giving a bunch of excuses, Mike admitted that he let some customers down and he has made adjustments to address that. He has hired an office manager and extra mechanics to keep up with orders. He really wanted to prove to me that he could earn my business and trust – and he did!
Bottom line, Big Mike will take care of you and give you a fair deal on a great cart!

I’ve had the WORST experience with a company I’ve EVER had in my life with Big Mike’s. I believe all the other negative reviews and wonder about the validity of the positive ones– if they were generated by consultants for hire that specialize in trying to fix bad on line reviews for poor businesses… It’s not logical to have so many 1 stars and then 5 stars. Something seems off… I bought an electric golf cart with some minor modifications (nothing fancy or difficult) Everything was agreed upon in writing on the contract, and I paid a 50% deposit. It was delivered many months later (instead of weeks later as promised) missing ½ of what it was supposed to have (ie: seat belts that fit, reflectors, horn, etc.) but most importantly I discovered that the batteries had been switched out from new batteries I ordered to old, worn out batteries! I had purchased new batteries which was spelled out in the contract. (That’s the largest cost of an electric cart is the batteries & the most important part) The local battery supplier confirmed that the batteries were many years old & I’d been shafted. The delivery guy said he would be back to pick the cart to re-​do it soon as they had 1 other customer at Suncadia and 2 at Lake Chelan that also were unhappy with their carts! Seriously. When I called Big Mike he exploded on the phone dropping F bombs, cussing up a storm. It was scary and awful. From there he continued with more lies, said he couldn’t find my cart, and so I just asked for my deposit back. He’s agreed 5 times that he will refund the money (as has 3 of the bookkeepers he’s gone thru since July) but still NO REFUND. I strongly warn you– do not think your experience will be different. (be sure to read the reviews that Unilocal has hidden too)

We were looking for a golf cart to get around our property. After looking online for months we found Big Mike’s and made the drive. Totally worth it. He was great to work with, helped us customized it to our liking, and communicated well through the process. If your looking for a custom golf cart for the best price and service you won’t find a better place than Big Mike’s. Highly recommend.

They claim to build custom golf carts, but we ordered a cart he claimed would take 4 – 6 weeks. No major custom build, just the usual, no radios or extra special details. Its been one excuse after another with no parts, ball cleaners on back order, tires were lost, etc. We had to prepay for the entire cart, and 4 months later we still don’t have it. They’ve promised it over 4 times that it will be «next week» for months.

Big Mike barely squeaks out 2 stars. The ONLY reason I give him 2 stars is because his price on custom carts is very competitive.
Unfortunately, EVERYTHING ELSE in dealing with Big Mike is a big hassle. From what I can tell, Mike makes it a habit to deliver carts that are not complete or finished as agreed upon to customers. He is extremely disorganized, forgetful. Mike gets so mixed up, that you feel like he is just liar, but he is so totally out of it, sometimes you are not sure if he is lying bold face, or just totally out of his mind.
Mike promised me that he would have a Cart ready for me by Christmas last year. He missed the date be about 3 months in total, and I NEVER got a complete cart from him, after months of complaining and going back and forth with him in person and on the phone. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I have gone through lately. There were times where I thought the guy was just a con artist and I would never really get a cart. I could go on and on about what a total cluster it was to try and nail Mike down on what he promised, and how he time and time again would SAY he was going to fix everything and wanted me to be happy, but never delivered.
In the end, I did get a decent cart — not what I had ordered — and not at all as good as I was hoping it would be. For a pretty good price.
I would have rather paid a bit more, got exactly what I wanted, and not have had to have the big hassle of big mike.
If you do buy a cart from big mike, don’t pay any money upfront. I recommend NOT doing a special custom order, he just won’t deliver everything promised. If you can pick a cart off his small lot, and it is exactly what you want, at the price you want. You should be in good shape. Otherwise, I highly recommend going someplace else.

Customer service? Mikes rocks. My wife bought me a club and ball washer, but an ugly green was all Mikes had in stock at the time. I took it back to Mike and he kept me informed on new stock coming in and exchanged my green box for a standard black without question. They build and modify carts like I’ve never seen. I went to Mike’s to find a basic used cart. We always wanted a customized cart but could never justify the additional expense for the kits to make something special. Fortunately, Mike pointed out that he had one he was willing to part with at about 50% off. I can’t say that that will happen with everyone, but Mike was very accomodating. Not a huge issue, but there was some communication issues with the delivery time and we had to go there three different times to finally pick up the cart. They made things right though. I would recommend them to my friends, but just make sure to get a very clear timing on delivery.

It’s golf cart season and Mike is busy! Being busy, he’s terrible at communicating but, I’m really happy with the cart I ordered and received. When you’re buying a reconditioned cart at a terrific price, you can’t be in a hurry. I ordered a cart on a Saturday, Mike delivered it on Thursday but it wasn’t exactly right — yeah i’m kind picky about little things. I asked him to come pick it up and make it right. He said «sure thing» without hesitation. Like I said, they’re busy! Wayne picked it up but not until Friday night at about 9pm — he was still working that late :)
Mike got it back to me the next Wednesday and it was better than I had expected — beautiful back pearl with 14SS rims — it’s a sweet ride!
I had forgot to ask Mike to include the matching sand bottles I saw on his shelf when I ordered the cart so I figured I’d drop by and buy them — my bad for forgetting that part of the package. When I got there, had to remind him who I was but when I asked to buy the bottles he said pick out the ones you want and he just gave them to me! They’re like $ 30 each on line.
Mike is a great guy but is doing a lot of things at once so sometimes stuff slips through the cracks but, he’s a stand up guy and will take care of you!
I’m going to be ordering more stuff from him as time goes on.
