While offering all new customers fast (12 meg) speeds at $ 19.99 a month they continued to charge retired and disabled customers $ 54 a month for 2 meg speeds with a 56Kbps modem for several years. When asked about that we were told our original contract (10 years prior) set the rate and there was nothing they could do. They refused to apologize for overcharging disabled people for services. They have since been fired. I get my internet service elsewhere.

DNS DNS DNS. Need I say more? Oh yes, SLOW SLOW SLOW! Thanks for crapping out completely on Thanksgiving day. Of course this one of only two crappy monopolized choices for Internet. Was better in West Seattle. Looks like for our Des Moines location, comcast may be the «better» of two evils. Better does not mean good. Oh, let’s not forget the throttling down when the bill is due. I thought that was illegal.

We are pretty easy going people who don’t like to complain, but ever since we signed up for century link we get a surprise charge almost every bill. We signed for auto pay and paperless to avoid the fees as told and they still show up. It seems that every time we talk to someone they give us a different answer. We recently did a transfer and so you guys offered us a free upgrade, we called to see what address it was being shipped to and the lady had no idea what we were talking about when I called on the 5^th and that’s the day we were supposed to receive it. I called again and talked to a nice guy named Derrick, he also did not know what I was talking about until he looked a little closer and said its on its way. We receive the package and so we wait until 8pm as it says to start self-​installation, we hook everything up and the DSL light goes red. So after a whole day of calling century link, we call one last time and had to try about 3 times until we could get someone on the phone at 12:04am. I continuously asked the lady if there was anything I could do to fix it since my roommate works from home and we have not had service for a whole week already. She said we will need a dispatcher to come out and I said okay how much is the charge she said if it’s in the building its a MINIMUM of $ 85.It’s not our fault the service doesn’t work so I asked her when that will happen and she casually says Friday which is a whole extra 7 days with no service. It’s not even about the money it’s the fact that it’s okay for a company to charge their customers for a service they are not receiving. I then asked if we could cancel since we need internet immediately and she pushed me aside to call a different number which I had to wait until the next day to do. I have never had so many little pop up issues that have not gotten resolved, don’t get caught up in a contract.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This has been the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had. It took a week to get a modem that doesn’t work, I called tech support and the only trouble shooting they did was have me plug it into a different phone jack. It took two weeks to schedule a technician that NEVER SHOWED UP. Oh, on top of all of this, I was sent an $ 80 bill. When I called and asked why I am paying for a service I haven’t recieved, they assured my it would show as a credit on the next bill, however, they «simply could not» send a letter or email stating this, I was just supposed to take the man on the phones word. I am usually a pretty patient and understanding customer, but this has been rediculous. PLEASE save yourself a headache and do not use CenturyLink.

Worse than comcast, if that is even possible, at getting someone with a pulse on the phone once they have you on autopay!!! They have been left on hold for as much as 45 minutes and when I pick up again it’s still the same sorry electronic voice telling me about ‘increased call volumes lately’ Well maybe if they answered one once in awhile the situation would self regulate. Funny how easy that was Mr or Ms Century Link whatever your faceless meme!

CenturyLink did send me a refund. How nice of them not to charge me for the time I spent attempting to get service cancelled!
Just received a «final bill» for $ 3.86 (!!!).
CenturyLink is so incompetent and this whole fiasco would have been humorous but unfortunately very painful to have to deal with @ a time like this. Contacting the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General’s office and hopefully another family won’t have to deal with a similar fiasco in the future.

Centurylink outsources their tech support service. I spoke to a tech support service rep who was somewhere in the Philippines. She was obviously reading from a script and my problem wasn’t on her script. She was, therefore, not able to help me at all but still tried to sell me other services. Calling was a waste of my time and very frustrating as I had to go through many layers of pressing 1 for this or 2 for that before I even got to speak to the brain-​dead rep. She didn’t offer alternatives and there was not a more knowledgeable person to help me. Useless!

Bad service. They say you pay $ 65.00 and I have been paying more than a $ 100.00. This is stupid and then they suspend your service and still charge you a monthly payment. I will never recommend centurylink to anyone.

The only reason I am giving this company a 1 star is because you have to give them at least one star. I only get internet from this company and they are trying to charge me 61.75 a month for just their internet service! Oh yeah did I mention that I have been a customer for the past 4 years… I called and was told that the only way to lower the monthly bill would be to sign up for auto pay-​which if I cancel before two years I will be charged about 200.00. I asked the lady when signing up for the auto pay if I could change my billing due date, she of course said ‘of course, you will just have to call in and set up the new date. So this afternoon I call and after talking to about 4 different people-​giving each one my personal information– I get told that the women that told me that was wrong and I was misinformed, the billing due date can not be changed. This has to be the worst company in the world and I really wish it would just go away. I will be looking into other service provides as soon as I finish this review. If you are a new customer thinking about going with this company-​DO NOT… find any other company but this one!

Toxic cable modem emitted poisonous fumes that made everybody sick. Headaches and vomiting for hours. We cancelled the service before it was even activated yet they still sent us bills for three months. Now they’re sending a collection agency after us _​and_​are ruining our credit rating. Calling them does no good, they never answer. Spent hours on hold for several days and never once got through.
We wish the police could arrest them for harassment, but they’re a corporation, they can screw us little people over as much as they want and get away with it.

After an hour and a half of being on the phone (mostly on hold waiting and listening to them BRAG about their excellent customer service they provide) I needed them to resend me another tech out for repair because the first tech they sent out didn’t know his ass from his hand, gave me 5mins of his time and took off. Wish I could say that this is the worst company ever but they’re all the same now in days! Nobody gives a shit and nobody does their job anymore. It’s all a bunch of b/​s and very frustrating!

They tricked us, fooled us, sold us product we don’t need, and then when we found out that they could just fix it for free, they want to charge us full cancellation fee without a single dollar off.
Spoke to about 10 people for about 5 hours combined. Everyone is trained to be a robot like, angry, team of imbeciles.

I ordered the Internet service and 13 days later having yet to receive anything I follow-​up with a call to find out that they never processed by order. Very frustrating, especially when they can’t even find you in their system and have to pass you around from a «specialist» to a «specialist». I cancelled my order.

I tried to send this to CLink but they required my SSN — I think not.
First: We couldn’t get the satellite service for TV because there are too many trees in our yard. Imagine that! Trees in Washington! and they have no backup online service.
Second: I have tried scores of times to «Customize» my home page. I select the things I want, but there is no ‘save’ or ‘done’ so when I leave and come back, it is the same as before I customized.
Third: Often the text is over the pictures or over other text or half out of the entry block so you can hardly read it.
Fourth: I keep getting junk mail telling me I am a heavy user, but if I change I will probably lose my $ 19.95 per month.
Fifth: My «$ 19.95» subscription costs me near $ 100 by the time you ‘bundle’ phone and internet service.
Sixth: When I click on the button to bring up my email addresses it stops about «P» and I cannot select the addresses beyond that. If I don’t remember a person’s name, they aren’t included.
Seventh: When I do enter part of a person’s name, like «Fre» for Fred, I get all the email addresses Fred ever had, current and obsolete, and I don’t remember which is his current one.
If it wasn’t such a hassle to change your email address, I would try some other provider.

Mixed. They are my phone and Internet provider at my massage business location. Nothing to rave or rant. I pay for the services, they provide the services. Then I decided to add just Internet at home. The connection was slow. So slow that the connection would time out. I inquired. They said connection was fine and no construction nearby to affect my service, so I was given a loyalty discount once I lost my bundle discount. The connection dropping got worse. Sometimes no internet for days. Called again. This time discounts or no, I was going to drop them if they don’t fix it. Tech came a few days later and found the wires went ad and got then replaced. So far, so good. I think I’ll stay with them a bit longer.

My experience with Century Link call center is disappointing at best. The associates were nice, but their systems of tracking problems, inquiries, etc. was horrific! I was passed from one department to another in a span of 2 hours to remove a fee on my bill for a product I canceled months ago. Today my mother had the same experience when she went to cancel one phone line and then put her name on my grandmother’s line. They deleted my grandmother’s line, which has been used by our family for 40+ years, then assigned her a completely new number. Unacceptable! What ever happened to classy and efficient customer service?!?

Do you like incessant service drops? Dozens of times a week. Do you like a company that makes it impossible to speak with a rep? CL is for you! I wouldn’t recommend this service to Hitler, even as a prank. Stay far, far away from this garbage.

It’s gotta be bad for me to take time to get on here and say something… and it is!
Everything is bad, but I think the online billing and account management is the worst of it. I feel like I have to go through a huge ordeal just to pay my bill each month!

Absolutely horrible. I’ve had to cancel 3 times and they’re still charging me. Stay far far away. Horrible evasive customer «service.»

Where to begin? Ugh… Centurylink is hands-​down the WORST internet provider in existence, not to mention the WORST customer service I have ever received from any business. Seriously, I’ve been treated better as a customer by McDonald’s employees.
First off; I pay for 12 mb service. Speed tests at any given time max out at 5mb (of course, centurylink’s specific speed test clocks 7! Hooray!!)
I have had to call twice a week to deal with tech support regarding this issue. Every time, it’s the same thing. Unplug the modem. Go into your settings. Holy crap — would it kill you to look at the notes on the account and realize I’ve already done this!!!
Then the real kicker; they wanted to charge me $ 80 to send out a tech to fix THEIR product that didn’t work! WOW.
In addition to this, no one in their call center seems capable of transferring correctly. I’ve been hung up on by this company’s representatives so many times it’s pitiful.
Not to mention I received threats that my service would be disconnected for «copyright infringement» and «piracy» because I view/​download content. I’m sorry, but I do not want to give my business to a company that micro-​manages how users utilize their internet like that.
Then when I call to disconnect, surprise surprise! I’m in a contract! Even though I specifically requested whatever service would be MONTH TO MONTH and was reassured by the sales woman that I would not be! Again, WOW.
So I call to cancel over the phone. Again, transferred incorrectly. Finally get through, and RETENTION (Yes, the team that is supposed to SAVE customer’s business) tells me «too bad, you’re in a contract». I ask for a supervisor, and this goon tells me there are none.
IN WHAT AMERICAN COMPANY CAN YOU EVER FIND WORKERS UNSUPERVISED? There isn’t a single call center here that does not have supervisors monitoring the floor!!!
Then I ask him to transfer me to customer care to file a complaint, and he hangs up on me!
After an hour on the phone I finally got a supervisor to cancel my account. He promised it would be without termination fees, although something tells me this won’t be my last angry call to this crap company.
Whatever you do, AVOID CENTURY LINK AT ALL COSTS. Their products don’t work, they censor/​regulate usage, and their customer service is beyond atrocious.
I can’t believe this company hasn’t been sued out of business yet!
