Extended Stay America – Seattle – Kent

I’m not sure I could give this hotel even a one-​star. We found this place through Expedia. This was my first time staying at these hotels and will be my last. We arrived fairly late and went up to our room. To our dismayed it was a smoking room. I don’t smoke so we went down to the lobby and asked for a new room. According to him the place was sold out and there weren’t any non-​smoking rooms available. I kind of find that hard to believe in such a large hotel. Instead of apologizing he just said that was our last room and if we still wanted it. What a joke.

I realize that some people need a low budget hotel however I have been traveling for 28 years and I have never seen such a poor concept that they really missed the concept of a low cost model.
The secrete is to have the customer still feel they got value for money.
I stayed in the hotel for two nights and it was a shambles.
1) the receptionist must have been on vacation when they were handing out personalities as she was miserable.
2) I did not know that they only clean the room once per week which is disgusting.
3) you have a full kitchen with no equipment not even a coffee maker, you have to go to reception if you need a cup.
4) free breakfast is hilarious, I will let you see that for yourself.
5) I used the iron and it spat dirty water over my clothes so I took the pillow case off my pillow to protect my trousers, the pillow was covered with yellow saliva stains.
Take my guidance don’t check in, sleep in your car in the car park and you would have a better night sleep.

Let’s see I’ve been staying here every week for the last six months and while it’s been fine.. The last 2 weeks in a row I haven’t had my room cleaned… and my crews complain that they never get their rooms cleaned.. It’s like wtf. they don’t value their long term customers.

I don’t know how to classify this place other than a dump. No ironing board and iron bled out a red color that stained my shirt. Who knows what it was! Room smelled musty…
I called the hotel after I was unable to wash it out and they told me, I wouldn’t get any kind of refund since I didn’t report it when I was at the hotel. I told them it was a $ 40 shirt and wasn’t looking for an entire refund of the room but rather, a recoup of the cost of the shirt and that I wasn’t going to even bother calling if it could have washed out. Still no budging by this low class hotel.
My co-​worker stayed there for the week and he had the pleasure of having a comforter with a cigarette hole/​burn in it.
Pay the extra $ 20 and stay somewhere that’s clean and cares about your visit.
It’s the last time I ever stay at this chain.

We checked in on Sat 13^th with our small snake pet and a cat. The front desk person was a bit hesitant and needed to check with the manager; after getting the approval, she allowed us to check in our pets with the usual pet fee per day + deposit.
On the following Sunday, the front desk called us and told us that they would not clean our room because of our pet. They refused to do our cleaning because we have a pet snake in a tank which they were fine with and accepted money for; we were willing to work with the hotel to move the snake, and our cat out of the room while they do the cleaning but the front desk did not even offer to work with us and instead said «there is no way my cleaning person will go and clean your room» and «willing to look past our issues». We ended up having to change our own towels and sheets and they told us that if we needed any cleaning, they can give us their vacuum and other cleaning supplies. The staff had entered our room multiple times before for security check and had had no problems with our snake.
We filled out a customer survey about our stay when receiving an email from Extended Stay America. On the following Wednesday, the district manager Bonnie called us and told us to remove our snake from the property either today or tomorrow since it is against policy even though there is nothing on their sites or notice from staffs about such policy and they did accept our money. We could not leave our snake in boarding so we had to find another hotel with higher rate due to short term notice. On checking out, they only offered to to refund us the current day.
I would not recommend this place at all. We felt super cheated and the staffs are not very friendly and will not work with you until you filled out a survey after which you might got kicked out of the hotel for. Oh and the internet is the worst ever, think dial up even when you pay.

We have approached the front desk several times for assistance. Every time it seems they are too busy or unfriendly to assist us. The shower head in our room is terrible, the FREE wifi sucks and I did not try the $ 14.99 version that should be free, the refrigerator barely is working and will not freeze anything, the TV remote does not work and was replaced with… you guessed it another remote that did not work. We are as far away from the front door as we can get too and of course they are soooo busy they cannot bring one up. There is a cum stain on the bed skirt, one elevator is broken and we had to take a smoking room even though we requested a non smoking room during our reservation and were assured it was available. The hallway smells terrible and I know it is a smoking section even so it is bad. All the staff seem to have a bad attitude. I was upset at check-​in about a discount that was not on the registration that was also assured to me. This is the most unpleasant stay I have ever had at any hotel.. This is my third night out of 7 for $ 590 I wish I would have stayed at a motel 6 at least they are friendly and the fridge is cold. This hotel states it was recently remodeled but they must have forgotten this room. Is there anything Extended Stay can do for me to make this better? Obviously the staff here could care less.

The rooms are nice BUT the service is really inferior. I have been disrespected by of all the people, the guest relations manager, who is obviously not about guest relations at all and even the housekeeping woman is not not nice, she has refused to clean my room because I am here or because of my cat and it is supposed to be a pet «friendly» hotel. Well, it is a people and pet unfriendly hotel!

This place is a real dive. I stayed for a week, as part of my Seattle vacation. I should have left after the first night. The toilet chain broke (I checked it, it was corroded) the fridge doesn’t work, absolutely no cold air, half of my groceries went in the trash after two days. The bed sheet had cigarette burns on them, and some old red stain had dripped and dried to the box spring. Some of the folks that stay here look pretty shady, the vehicle noise from the freeway next door makes it impossible to sleep. The room next door was a continual cycle of a sex fest, squeaky walls, obscenely loud moaning, my bed shaking from their «movements» followed by the two people arguing about money and slamming doors. Food options are limited as the hotel is in an industrial area. I asked for a dish set, the cups had black mold inside them. So unless your just swinging by for a quick nooner, drive past this one. Worst vacation ever! Will not be going back.

My husband and I stayed here for two weeks while waiting for our house to be ready because it was near his new job. Although very greatful that his company was very generous to house us, this so called «HOTEL» is ridiculous! I encountered one employee on a few occassions that was very accusatory regarding towels and even became rude with my 13 year old step daughter who asked for some extra toilet paper. I went down there to advise her that I didn’t appreciate her gruff attitude towards my step daughter and she assured me that she wasn’t rude, I told her that I’m assured that since she was so rude to me when asking for extra towels that I’m assured she was rude to her also. The hotel elevator smelled of fire and smoke on one of my trips to the car and upon advising them, they had to close down the elevator for a few days, I would stick to the stairs if staying here. They have a room at the end of each hallway called the trash room and you can smell it from down the hall as they do not empty it nearly enough! I do not recommend staying here! You’re not exaxctly treated like your welcome. Don’t expect your room to be thoroughly cleaned either, I stayed here with pets and found 3 different types of pills on the floor in different places that we couldn’t identify and weren’t ours!

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again will I recommend anyone in my company or in my personal circle book here. I was misquoted on the price — my credit card charge is different from what my reservation says and now getting an itemized copy of the receipt has taken me more than 1 hour, 6 phone numbers (most of which don’t go anywhere and leave me on a constant loop) and 9 people (none of whom can provide me what I need)…oh and I STILL don’t have a receipt. Ridiculous.

It’s a smelly dump. If I wasn’t visiting a friend I’d never go near the place.

Put me in a smoking room despite booking a non-​smoking room. Vents were dripping brownish-​yellow and crud-​encrusted, smell was revolting. If only I hadn’t been too tired to try to be relocated.
Woke up in the morning sinus-​congested and nauseous. Only *then* did I notice the huge brownish-​red stain on the side of the mattress cover I’d just spent the night on. Coffee? Blood? No idea. Staff — who didn’t seem to want to be there any more than I did — didn’t know either. Delighted to never stay at an «Extended Stayamerica» hotel again, ever. You’re better off sleeping under a bridge.

I only paid $ 63 plus taxes ($ 73 and $ 69 per night for 2 nights) through Travelocity’s secret room program. So the 4 stars are based on that. If I had paid full price, I’d give 3 stars.
It’s clean and the bed is firm. All you can ask for in a basic motel.

I stayed here for two weeks and it was a reasonably priced and quiet place with an adequate (for the price of the room) complimentary breakfast. There were two problems — during the two weeks, they never once cleaned the room and put me in a smoking room without telling me it was a smoking floor.

I have stayed here many times on my trips to WA. It’s clean and decent, easily accessible to all major roads and minutes from the Sea-​Tac airport.
I love the kitchenette rooms and the availability of the laundry room on the first floor.
The prices are normal and the service is what you would expect from any extended stay.
Last time I visited the attendant was not at the desk and she answered the phone with a huff when I called, she came to the desk smelling of marijuana and kind of gave me a cold shoulder from supposedly interrupting her smoke.
Besides that little hiccup, I continue to stay here every time I am in the Seattle area.
