History

Established in 2013.

The Bicycle Fixer was born out of 35 years working in the bicycle industry as a mechanic, salesperson, and a race mechanic. I guess the time had come to venture out on my own!

Business Owner

My name is Joe Sandschulte and I was born and raised in Seattle, WA. I’ve been riding and working on bicycles since I was about 9 yrs old. Granted, the tools I used then were not quite as bicycle specific as those I learned to use in the forthcoming years. I enlisted in the US Navy in 1973 only to get my discharge in 1975 for a bum elbow. My first «official» bicycle position of employment was in 1978 for a local small chain. I attended college full and part-​time until 1985 before deciding working as a bicycle mechanic was my calling From there I worked my way through several local shops to being a service mngr in 1989. In 1987 I became a certified bicycle race mechanic working for the US national teams, race camps and owning NTS, a provider of technical race support to bicycle race promoters. Speed ahead to 2013 and the time had come to start my own mobile retail business.
