Dan The Handyman

We have used Dan twice, and can say that he has been top notch both times. Very professional, on time, personable, and does a great job. I usually don’t post things on sites like these but we were so happy with Dan that I had to figure it out.

Dan did a great job for us. We had a fluorescent light that was out and he came, diagnosed the problem, went and got a replacement fixture, and did it all efficiently. He did some nice things like getting both the replacement fixture and the electrical part. He tried the electrical part first so as to save us money and when that didn’t work, he used the fixture and returned the electrical part. He made some excellent choices with to our benefit. We’ll use him in the future.

We called Dan a few weeks ago. He told me he couldn’t get to our job for a few weeks, and I indicated I needed someone immediately. He referred me to Humberto to do interior painting for us. Humberto did an amazing job, so we hired him to do the exterior. Our house looks brand new now, and Humberto takes pride in his work and all the details. Thank you Dan for the amazing referral!

Facts:
1) Dan worked for me on my property and did a horrible job at that. I do not want anyone to suffer Dan, as we did.
2) Dan took our keys and refused to return them.
3) Dan regularly does not show up and does not return phone calls. Usually after he has been paid, but he will display this irresponsible behavior whenever he deems it necessary.
4) Dan creates (and leaves behind) a huge mess on the job.
5) Dan is confrontational and irrational.
Dan seems shocked that people he has mistreated are now coming out of the woodwork and comparing notes. How can he not realize that is the entire purpose of Unilocal?Brilliant.
There is no conspiracy to rob Dan of his ill gotten Unilocal stars. I have never heard of any of these Unilocal posters until they started to complain about Dan The Handyman here.

Dan did a terrific job at our home. His work was consistently excellent. He has a very good eye for design and aesthetics, as well as a great sense about how to get the most bang for the buck — in terms of material and fixture selection. The work Dan did (re-​doing a home office, kitchenette, and play room) required a pretty broad spectrum of skills and experience — electrical, plumbing, carpentry, finish painting. Dan approached everything with the same ‘can-​do’ attitude, and a genuine desire to do the job right. Dan was also a pleasure to work with.

He was GREAT!!! Scared about putting a posting up because I dont want him taken up with everyone else’s jobs. He is the perfect handyman that can do what a contractor do without the price, finds affordable options, big job, little job, makes everything so less complicated… he put up a close organizer, bathroom shower door, painted, cleaned baseboards, did a big touch up of this paint job I had done, put up blinds and spoke to home depot with me while at store about 5 times… etc etc etc

If you are looking for an amazing handyman you need to hire Dan! Dan recently moved back to the Bay area from L.A. where he was a painter and handyman doing all sorts of work on mega multi million dollar homes. I hired Dan to do some work on my apartment in Marin. I am truly lucky to have found him as he is honest, reliable, diligent, hard working and an all around great guy. He not only painted cabinets, doors and trim, but he did some electrical work, built furniture, installed a new front door lock, built and installed a couple of new shelves, installed a blind, removed a door, tacked down phone lines, repaired a table, installed a smoke detector and hung a bunch of pictures. He was invaluable and I can not recommend him highly enough as a painter, electrician and handyman.
