Kern River Fly Shop is full service fly shop with all the latest fly fishing gear and flies. They offer guided fly fishing trips on the Kern River in California and they also offer classes and instruction on fly fishing and fly casting. Their guides are Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Fly Casting Instructors as well as licensed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. They are also bonded, insured and have CPR and First Aid cards. They are the premier fly fishing outfitters and educators of fly fishing in California.

History

Established in 2000.

Federation of Fly Fishers certified casting instructor and guide Guy Jeans started the fly shop and guide service in 2000. He is the only fly fishing outfitter permitted to guide on the Kern River in the Sequoia National forest and Golden Trout Wilderness.

Business Owner

Guy Jeans, owner/​guide/​instructor, is a Certified Casting Instructor with the International Federation of Fly Fishers. He guides, lectures and teaches over 250 days a year all over the Southern Sierra, Sequoia National Forest, Golden Trout Wilderness, Domeland Wilderness and South Sierra Wilderness. He also guides and teaches «Fly Fishing in the Surf» classes along the California coastline. He is an Elite pro staff member and instructor for Redington Fly Rods, Hatch Reels and is a Simms Guide Ambassador. In 2012, Guy received the «Lee Wulff Award» from the International Federation of Fly Fishers. He has fly fished all over the US and Canada and loves to catch all species of fish on a fly. He is also host of the critically acclaimed show and DVD series «Sierra Fly Fishing» and he writes articles about fly fishing, for magazines and newspapers throughout the west. He is a contract fly designer for Solitude Fly Company and his Kern Emergers and other patterns are sold internationally.
