I had a veggie paninni and it only had spinach and tomato and provolone cheese(warm but not hot) … sent it back and got the bison burger. It was good but not great. The service was good and atmosphere was nice.

We love Rails at the Depot for many reasons. One is the great personal service and consistent feelings of being taken care of. The food is always good. .fresh, tasty, presented well and a choice that is not readily available in Kerrville. We drive 70 miles each week to have Saturday lunch. Fresh, tasty, beautiful surroundings and great service. What more could you want?

Great food, service, and atmosphere. It’s a small place… maybe fits 50 ppl. but very nice. The food was delicious and just the right amount on the plate and for the pocketbook. We left for 75(with tip) after having 2 teas, an appetizer, 2 main courses and a dessert and we didn’t feel overly full. Walked in a little skeptical bc it seemed fancy… i will say the shrimp for our shrimp cocktail were not quite«jumbo» but still good. Chicken and penne was really good. Not too cheesy or slathered with heavy sauce. The pesto & portabello with chicken was perfect. But probably one of the better meals we’ve had in a while. the service was great. Go here for sure.

Stopped by after taking the wives on a Harley motorcycle ride through the«three sisters» hill country. We were a bit damp from the rain, saw the 4.5 star rating and decided to redeem ourselves with the women. Pulled in to an empty lot at 5pm, stepped inside, upscale vintage motif and very very kind maitre de. We definitely made the right choice. Starter of mushroom quesadilla, awesome! Stephanie, our server, was the Mary Poppins of helpfulness, Practically Perfect in every way. Beef tenderloin salad, tenderloin and carmelized onion panini, beef Marsala, and shrimp cocktail, all excellent! A bottle of Cabernet, brownie cake, Carmel butter pecan cake, key lime cheesecake and no sugar peach pie … All great! Highly recommended!

We were in town to ride motorcycles. We stopped by to eat dinner and our waitress was pleasant, however the rest of the staff was rude. The food was good, price was good.

There were 5 of us for lunch. We were greeted very nicely and seated outside on a fabulous day. Our waiter was very attentive and waited very patiently while we chatted away and never interrupted, which was something that doesnt happen very often any more. He kept drinks full and got our food out really fast. I cant say enough great things about him. The food was fabulous and everyone loved their food. Highly recommend!!!

What an amazing meal. My chicken curry salad is just what I was craving. It’s a big scoop of chicken curry salad,(the chicken salad itself was not mixed in with raisins, or cashews, or anything; just chicken salad) with raspberry dressing, big ol’ walnuts, feta, dried cranberries atop spinach. Oh yes, mandarin oranges too. It was a beautiful salad, reasonably priced. Do not miss this restaurant, you will not be sorry. Located in a very old building, the dining room boasts of high tin ceilings and dark wood furniture, tall windows to let the light in, and pretty chandeliers to add some softness. I didn’t ask what position he held(owner/chef?) but Sam came by the nearby tables to tend to lighting candles on the tables, and we struck up a amazing conversation about spices, Houston, etc. Excellent service, attentive yet not hovering. Everything about this place was more than pleasant. They should change the name of this place to Quality. We will DEFINITELY return.

I can say with confidence that my wife and I(in 44 years of marriage) have not had a better meal! The food was fantastic and the service was top notch! What a special evening and I wished we lived close so we could eat there every week! Brittany helped us out, though our waiter was a balding fellow that made us laugh! The two, the mood, the food and quality exceeded all expectations! Thank you and we will be back!!! SEM

LOVED this place! We ordered many things and all were good. The shrimp alfredo was the best. What is unforgettable is the irish cake. Oh yeah, get it! We loved our waiter too.

Awesome place. Built in an old depot station with a cute outside patio. Lunch was fantastic. We had a beef panini and a pork shank dish. Both were extremely good. You cannot leave without dessert. This place is a true example of kerrville charm. Highly recommend.

This restaurant was highly rated so we chose to have dinner here. It is a nice classy establishment. The food was very good and the service was excellent. My lady had a stir fry special and I had a grilled chicken, pasta, pesto, portobello dish. Both were very good and were more than we could eat. Our server was exceptional and all the staff seemed like they were well trained and attentive. I would love to go back and try some of their other dishes.

We eat great meals often but rarely do we get an overall great experience. Last night we went to Rails for Valentines on a mini vacation. We were so very pleased with the choice! The bacon wrapped medallions and shrimp were wonderful & and the service was even better. We were greeted at the door like we had walked into a friends home & they were glad to see us and they continued to provide the same level of excellent service thoughout the meal! Even handing us fresh cupcakes to take back to our room as we left. Perfect night!

Rails — Kerrville’s favorite restaurant! It’s easy to see why. I’ve never had a bad meal here, nor has anyone in my family. It’s a great place for a family outing, a date, or catching up with friends. Upscale(and very tasty!) American-Italian food, great rustic atmosphere, and top-notch service. I still have dreams about the creamy poblano soup they served me once. The servers are generally quick and thoughtful and know their menu well. I have allergies and they are always very diligent in communicating my concerns to the kitchen(I know because they’ll often come back with a question from the cooks!). The only downside is that they are not open on Sundays!

Service was top notch! Food was pretty good, however the pasta was a bit overcooked for my liking. Our server was wonderful knowing we were on a time crunch, so expedited everything. He even gave us cupcakes to go to share with our family. Will be back if I’m back in the Kerrville area again.

OMG… I just had the best soup ever(Italian Wedding Soup)!!! We’re in Kerrville for the Triathlon festival and wanted to try a new place… Wow… There were so many great choices on the menu, and we choose the Bison Burger and the BLTA(Bacon, Let, Tom & Avocado) Panini… Crispy pickles and crisp Kettle Chips. Can’t wait to come back!

Had the pork tenderloin special. Pork was served lukewarm and the meat was very bland and smothered with a homemade bbq sauce as if to cover up the fact that the pork was otherwise bland and flip/flopped to warm up. Only 4 small and thin pieces were served. Not much price to value in the entrée. The side sautéed zucchini was served hot as were the red potatoes and both were well seasoned. The Caesar salad was very good but small and was served with lots of cheese which was good. Service was attentive and experienced. Overall the entrée was quite a disappointment and a poor value.

We absolutely loved this place. It’s a small-ish older house, nicely decorated. We were seated right away and found the menu to have a great and varied selection. I had the spinach salad with salmon and my husband had a special mediterranean salad. My salad was simple, but fantastic — baby spinach with mandarin oranges and just the right amount of honey mustard dressing. On top was a wonderfully grilled piece of salmon. I finished every bite. DH loved his, too — baby spinach with olives and fresh chunks of mozarella and a nice dressing. They brought the dessert tray around and, wow, what a selection. From dulce de leche crème brûlée, to banana pudding, to lemon meringue cake and many more. DH had the banana pudding and was in heaven — light and mousse-like — he devoured it. I had the pineapple coconut cake and it was outstanding. Wish I had that recipe. Not heavy and sweet, just perfectly made with a light cream cheese and coconut frosting. It was great and the coffee they served was really good, too! Service was with a smile and very good. I sure wish they’d open a branch of this where I live… If you’re ever in Kerrville, Texas, stop by here for sure.
