History

Established in 2011.

Owners Bill Burkhardt and Lorraine Boyd moved to Key Largo in early 2011 to pursue a lifelong dream. Life for the family stopped for five years while supporting Bill’s wife, Lisa, in her courageous fight against breast cancer.

fter Lisa passed away, the family decided to fulfill that dream by opening up Category 3 Bar and Grill in the Florida Keys.

Why Category 3?

Because Lisa’s breast cancer was at Stage 3 when she was diagnosed. Naming the restaurant Catgory 3 honors her memory.
