Sailors Choice Party Boat

This is one of the best with definitely the best crew out of all the party boats I’ve visited. The crew is careful to make sure everyone is enjoying their fishing experience and are always readily available to assist with bringing the catches in the boat fast. Also, if in a particular spot the fish are not biting, they are quick to move on to another spot. You are pretty much guaranteed to fish something.

My family and I drove down from South Miami on Memorial Day Weekend so traffic was pretty bad, in addition to the two accidents. We called Sailors Choice and informed them and they were very professional, helpful and polite. We booked on the website. Even though on the website it states that hey do not do rescheduling, they generously offered to reschedule us, if we weren’t able to make it on time. We arrived at 1:35 (1:30 was our scheduled time), hustled, got our tickets and jumped on the boat. We drove about 5 miles out to the deep sea on a beautiful day! The visibility was fantastic and we saw so much wildlife on the way to our fishing site. We saw several sea turtles, a sailfish, flying fish and other fish. Danny was fantastic and helped teach us how to work the fishing rods. Every time someone caught or thought they caught something, we would yell «Fish On» and he would help us bring the fish up, before we lost it. It was a very hot day and there weren’t too many fish biting, but Jamie our captain took us to several different locations. Between the 5 of us that went, 3 of us caught fish. So it definitely was a successful day. Even if we wouldn’t have caught anything, the crew were so kind and helpful and it was such a great experience, especially for my first time fishing. At the end of the trip, Danny cut the fish for us and we had ourselves a marvelous dinner that night.

This was one of the worst experiences ever. Everyone was onboard waiting to go out. The captain decided we needed to wait on two people who were late. Thirty minutes later we are still waiting. My suggestion — go with a business that acts professional and understands the value of the customer (over 20) who are on time and ready to go at the designated time

Went out on a half day charter. Had a wonderful time and between the three of us we caught 15 keepers. Devin and Doug were the guys helping all the people fishing. They were both very friendly and on top of things. The Captain was pretty funny trying to get the people pumped up about fishing. The crew cleaned our fish once we got to the dock.. Be sure to tip the guys. They work hard to make your trip fun and successful. They boat does have bathrooms although I did not use them. The boat also sells soft drinks and water.

Must say we caught a 25 pound cobia so it’s easy to say Captain and first mate Devin were the best. But I’ve been on enough party boats to know that the five star rating would be given regardless even if we caught nothing. In fishing there are no guarantees but it is a guarantee that the captain and crew will take care of you, making every fishing trip fun. Thanks Devin for breaking a sweat making sure we were taken care of.

Went out for a ½ day fishing excursion with our first mate, Devin and our Captain, Jamie. Unfortunately, the day we chose to go the current was really strong, but the fellas moved us around to several spots and found us some good fishing. Everyone in our party caught a fish, even with the tough conditions. One of our party got a little green around the gills and Cap’t Jamie was checking on her and made sure she got a gingerale to help calm her stomach. Devin was extremely helpful and was right there whenever we needed him and even filleted our fish for us at the end of the trip. Great trip and great staff.

Nice crew, nice boat ride but didn’t even get a nibble, and they moved the boat 4 times, only a few fish caught by all, wrong time of year? The boat the previous evening didn’t catch but about four. Really didn’t see but a few schools of small blue wha who’s

Great boat for people with zero experience in fishing as the crews are very helpful. Good choice for having few hours of fun too.

Best 40 Bucks ever spent! We had a great experience. The weather was perfect and there was only 16 people on the boat. The Captain and mate was great! We caught a lot of fish! Over all great time! I live in Miami will be back!

So I drive 1:45 min to find out the trip is canceled, then get told the next day it will be going out. Call and they tell me they don’t have a boat today… Confused I say that on the website it says clearly FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT. She again says we don’t have any charter tonight out next sailings is at some time I don’t give a shit about in the morning. Honestly what type of establishment is this? Some sort of joke where they can’t be honest. Disgraceful and pathetic I wouldn’t waste an ounce of gas going near this wretched place ever again. Get a better staff learn some manners and maybe then you’ll have enough people to fill your boat.

That was good fun! We both never fish, but these guys did make fishing very clear. The mate’s help and instructions were good and also funny! The captain will keep on trying to find good fishing spots in the short ½ day that is available. Good fun, but I imagine not for seasoned fishing veterans ;)

This was just an ok fishing boat/​crew/​trip. We’ve had better. The boat is clean. The crew, consisting with the captain and a his lone mate was helpful… when they got to you. But with over 30+ fishermen with 2 assisting, we often to wait to get assistance.
We would come back and give this company another try as the price is right… and we did have good Sunday FamDay out in the Atlantic.

Tell me how u are suppose to catch fish w the huge weight tied next to your bait only people that caught fish were the ones that brought their own poles. Won’t be back

I called and asked about pricing. A man I spoke with on the phone said nothing about an up charge for using a credit card. When I arrived without cash, an unpleasant and abrasive woman claimed there was no way I spoke to someone other than her and made me feel like I wasn’t telling the truth. I checked the number and I did speak with a man at Sailors Choice. If there would have been some clarity, flexibility or friendliness, I would have paid extra with a credit card (which is a hefty extra amount). Please don’t make claims that your customers are lying when they are not. The fishing is probably great!

What a great party boat! My fiancé, father and I went out on the afternoon and had a great catching fish. Capt Joe and mate Josh were friendly and enthusiastic, the boat was very clean and nice. Definitely coming back!

My husband and I fished with Capt. Joe and mate Jamie a few weeks ago and we cannot say enough good things about this party boat. We are fisherman and boat owners in Maryland and have fished on many party boats over the years. This is a really, really good one! Boat is very very clean and I have to say it has the cleanest heads we’ve ever seen. Capt. Joe puts you on fish and works hard to keep you on fish. Jamie works his tail off helping everyone. They both are very patient and professional. We would not hesitate to recommend this party boat to anyone!

Although we didn’t catch any fish, we had a GREAT time!!!
Be aware, you need to pay cash for the fishing.

The Sailor’s Choice is a 65′ charter boat that takes ½ day fishing trips daily. The fishing grounds in Key Largo are only a 20 – 30 minute boat ride away, and the water is crystal clear. Even fishing in 90′ of water, I could see my bait all the way to the bottom.
My wife & I went on a Monday and were surprised to be one of just a few families on board. About 20 of us, including crew. So, there was lots of space to move around. The crew could not have been more courteous. I wish I could remember the mate’s name, I want to say Matt. He was making lots of corny jokes, ensuring everyone had a great time, even though the fishing was terrible! (Not their fault)
½ day fishing trips are only $ 40, and they don’t charge for filleting your fish. The catches were sparse, everyone had about 1 – 3 fish in the cooler, and no one was interested in taking them home, so my wife & I took everything! I think they charge you a little extra for paying by credit, so bring cash.
