AVOID. If you pursue using this company, it’s your own fault. Misleading? YES. Underhanded? YES.
I had a quote of $ 625 that turned into $ 900, only to be told that my «contract» stated that nothing was locked in until the time of picking up your vehicle. Typical «bait and switch» tactics. Truly pathetic. The owner of the company gets on the phone, cusses you out for telling him of his unscrupulous methods, and tells you too, «too bad, I told you so». In addition, they collect $ 200 up front, and he let’s you know that you can not and will not get that money back. Surprise, surprise… Citibank gave me my money back. I’ll let them deal with the New Jersey Shysters. DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Absolutely the worst company. Took my deposit and said they were picking up my car that day. Never heard from them again. They did not answer phones calls or email messages. I disputed the charge on my credit card and they charged the card again. Stay away.

SAKS Auto Transport — –Do not by any means use them to get your vehicle picked up and hauled to you, they are crooked on The Soprano’s level, no exaggeration here.
Back in late July of this year, 2015, I had purchased a classic car up in Eureka, Montana.
Immediately afterward, I began contacting auto transport companies online looking to get a quote for what it will cost to get the car from that location in Montana, to my home here in Southern Cal. SAKS Auto Trans began sending me emails with the lowest quote – $ 750.00.
So fine, I spoke to the dispatcher there – Alex, who then said no problem, Eureka Montana to Northridge CA for $ 750.00. About four days go by, on ⁰⁸⁄₀₄ dispatcher Alex calls me saying he has a truck driver willing to go up and get my car, but he wants over $ 850.00 to pick it up and brought down to me. I then said to dispatcher Alex that I thought we agreed it would be $ 750.00. «Well that was only an estimate, he said». No it was not, I replied, but he talked me into taking the deal because it would be taken care of promptly. I was then told I needed to place my deposit of $ 125.00 to get everything rolling with the driver. That was on a Tuesday, and what a mistake that was. The following Saturday afternoon, my wife answers the phone, it is the driver saying he is nixing the run, it is too out of his way or whatever. I immediately left a message for dispatcher Alex to call me ASAP. He never called back, the following Monday, I had to call him. He than says that «every driver wants at least $ 1000.00 to take this job». Again I reminded him of his original quote of $ 750.00, and that if this was such a problem, then he should have given me a more honest estimate in the first place so I could make an informed choice. A week goes by and nothing happens. Finally I call SAKS wanting to speak to dispatcher Alex, I am told that he is out but they have a bunch of drivers all over Washington and Montana and that someone will be calling me that evening or the next morning for sure. This is when I realized that these people do nothing but tell you what you want to hear in a phone conversation, but never follow through. The evening came and went, the next morning came and went — nothing from anyone.
This was when I called later in the afternoon, the same person answering acted like our previous conversation the day before didn’t exist, so it was then I asked to speak to dispatcher Alex to whom I then cancelled the job. Again more BS that he sent the billing office notice to refund my deposit. Weeks went by and nothing. More phone calls to them about my deposit being refunded. More BS said just to get me off the phone.
Today is the 30^th of September, 2015 and after two months of nonsense with Saks Auto Transport and no money refunded, I have since have had to contact the Monmouth County Attorney to file a claim and a complaint on Saks Auto Trans in an attempt to get my funds returned. Probably won’t happen, but its a chance.
If I can steer away one person from becoming another victim of Saks Auto trans, it will be worth it to me. I hope everyone reading this takes it to heart and goes to someone else. The auto transport business is highly competative, there are so many other legit car transporters out there, you don’t need to give you money to crooked a-​holes like this. Zero Stars
