WorldMark Kihei

The location grew on me as it turned out to be perfect. Real close to a pretty good beach, and seemed to be close enough to everything.
Parking here is super easy and the resort in general was in pretty good shape. The above average pool and hot tub area was just active enough not to be boring, but not over crowded at any time. The temperature of the pool was perfect. Our group did use the BBQ Grills, they were well maintained and clean.
Front desk and office staff was kind and welcoming, but I thought it was odd they recommended ABC store or Food truck when I asked about a place close by to eat. Both were close by, but there are other great options close by as well, including Ami Ami which is very very very nice, Fred’s that was Very very very Fun, and Maui Fish and Chips that was tasty and very very very cheap. The ABC Store close by is a cant miss, It’s awesome they have everything including beer, wine and liquor. The food truck always had a line.
Our particular unit was nice, very clean and well appointed. There is a full kitchen loaded with enough to cook meals with ease. There is also a stacked washer and dryer, That was a nice surprise. We had a group and several units and they all were just alike. My balcony had a partial ocean view and was nice in the morning and evening.
Some tips for those unfamiliar with Kihei:
During the day it’s HOT and/​or WINDY be prepared
Kihei is long an narrow. There are lots of choices for dining and drinking including upscale and fast food, and there are at least 3 grocery stores and a big drug store.
Kihei is all beach and has many beach parks, explore them all.
Don’t drink and drive, and be alert, others do.

Having AC is really nice. The staff is stingy on giving towels tho. But walking distance from the beach! Can’t go wrong! If you want a somewhat good view in a two bedroom, you have to push the two twin beds together which is uncomfortable to sleep on :/​but at least the pool is nice and hot tub

As a WM owner of 23 years it’s great to see my maintenance dues being put to
Good use in the upkeep of the properties. Their was some noise but understandably so, they put in new carpet, ceramic tile floors and new furnishings in the units. I have stayed at this particular location perhaps 5 times and we love the location to soany things without having to get into a car. For the first time, a food (Not Affiliated), but endorsed has great Hawaiian food if you don’t feel like cooking or spending a fortune at a restaurant, the average plate is $ 14 and I personally recommend the Coconut Shrimp plate. Being just step from your room we ate in out unit. Yummy!

Great location. 2^nd time here. Everything was as expected. Had a room with a decent view. Staff was pleasant. Pool is nice. Nothing went wrong, was just very relaxing. The TV situation is kind of a joke. Half the channels are static but you kind of get that at a lot of hotels. Plus you don’t vacay to watch TV all day. It’s just maui doesn’t have much of a nightlife. Lots of places close at 9 so what else are you gonna do? We stayed in building 8 which is in the back. Walk to the beach is literally 5 mins even with a toddler. Street noise can be a pain in the morning but I think life starts here at sunrise so it’s kind of to be expected.

Second time here. We had a couple of issues in our unit that were handled expediently. The location is very nice. Except for having to cross the street I actually enjoyed our stay here more than the two nights that we stayed at a fancy resort in Lahaina. The beds are really uncomfortable though. The Murphy bed was more comfortable than the bed in the bedroom. There was construction going on in our building which I could never hear, and the workers were very careful to let us pass/​use the elevator first. I did NOT like the location of our unit. Building 8 on the top floor. It felt like a hike to get to the pool or the beach. The elevator is rather slow and needs to be updated.

The rooms are great. Our ac in the bedroom is a little noisy. Our family had 5 rooms over the condo unit. They were all nice. We wish they would have been able to put us together. It was difficult because we arrived at varying days.
The pool is awesome at night. The hula lessons given are a must! My daughters made their own kukuki leis. The extra activities are wonderful.
When you arrive check out the luggage room. Other patrons leave behind items they have bought and don’t want to take with them. We were able to get sand mats, boogie boards, rock shoes, and chairs. We bought a few things and will leave them when we checkout as well.
The only drawback is the rooms do not have a view. My sister with a small room had a peekaboo view of the ocean. I still recommend this place. The beach is across the street. Get out of your room and go to the beach if you want a view:)

Great location across street from ocean. Office, maintenance and house keeping staff are excellent, helpful and friendly. Only downside is the marketing staff. As with other Worldmark resorts, «owner update» is really high pressure sales attempt to get you to buy more points. We decided to never attend another «owner update» after an awful experience at the Worldmark Camlin location but decided to attend the Kihei «owner update» after office staff assured us it was not high pressure like other resorts. After being insulted by the «owner update» person we said the «update» was ended. NEVER AGAIN will we fall victim to another «owner update». Except for that awful experience, we like our Worldmark membership.

Yay– Great location, friendly staff, poolside massages for a great price, free items to borrow to takers the beach first come first serve (chairs, umbrellas, etc), friendly staff, awesome food trucks & shaved iced truck park right by the condos everyday/​night (close at 8pm), abc store on the corner, beach across the street, located near everything, housekeeping was quick to deliver our extra items we needed everyday, bbq grill was outside facing the beach near our corner unit, pool was awesome and clean.
Boo– got a 3 bedroom condo and only one room had a TV/​DVD player (the other one was in the living room), units are showing their age with some of the kitchen counter chipping and also the bathrooms are dated, wifi sucks (I got a refund), an overzealous timeshare staff constantly trying to get us to go to an update meeting, no garbage cans at the pool area that we could see, all rooms have poor lighting and Murphy bed location was awkward and no storage for the person using it.

I’ve been here numerous times and this visit was EXTREMELY disappointing. Upon arrival the living courtiers had a mold/​old water/​sour smell. When we called the front office wasn’t very helpful. We had to ask them to send someone to come and take care of the issue. They sprayed febreze around the perimeter. We left to have dinner and came back to the same horrible smell. We bared with it for the night and called in the morning to report the smell again. They brought in the rug cleaner to try and help lift out the water from the rug. It may have helped a little but the smell still lingered during the duration of my stay. With the warm and humid weather they should make sure that the carpet is fully dry before locking up the unit for a guest to check into. Trying to get that smell out of clothes or just sitting in a moist unit. Isn’t how one/​family should have to spend their vacation.
I hope not to experience a future stay like this ever again.

Just got back from a week here. Our second time. To be honest, because of certain things showing their age, I would like to give it 3.5 stars.
A special shout out to pool guy Lance and his wife. Had a lot of interaction with Lance and even though he was nursing a recently broken collarbone, he was always cheerful and helpful. Even when he was enforcing rules around the pool, he was very gracious with the guests. Others in my group interacted with his wife who directs numerous craft sessions and they enjoyed her.
This time we had a unit in building one on the first floor that faced the street. Was worried about street noise but it was not a problem at all. Spent every morning sitting outside, sipping coffee and watching the local rooster and other birds come through. At night, the outside light was turned on and there was a gecko looking for bugs that hung out with me.
The complex is about 15 years old and the unit was showing its age. There were a few spots on the counter where the formica was chipped and the dish washer had a couple of broken tines. In our unit, the A/​C was wall mounted and not central. This actually was kind of nice because each bedroom could be controlled to the occupants preference. One staff member told me that they are going to be updating all the units this year. Am going back next year so I will see if they were being truthful.
The comment about the units with a Murphy bed being in the middle of everything is accurate. Better placement, or going with something smaller than a queen might work.
Lastly, the resort charging for WiFi access is kind of dumb. However, this is a corporate decision.
Regardless, will be going back with another group in September 2015!

This is an older resort but the location is AMAZINGLY great. So close to the beach! Didn’t try the massage due to my awful sunburn. I even became a co-​owner with Wyndham as a result of how great this location was. The units are a little older but everything worked perfectly. Nice pools and hot tub!

Just got back from another one week vacation in Maui, and we continue to love this place. With the exception of the somewhat aloof and snooty Danielle, everyone in the front office and support was fantastic, friendly, accommodating with the Aloha spirit enthusiastically showing. The facilities is impeccable, and units very clean with updated appliances and TV’s. This place is so nicely situated across Kamaole Beach #1 and close by stores/​restaurants, that you really don’t need to go elsewhere. The serene and magical early morning strolls at the beach, and the just as beautiful sunsets, makes this our favorite vacation spot. Special thanks to Lia, Ronald and Tammy (sales), for making us feel extra welcome. Can’t wait to get back!

Good property. Typical Worldmark location. Really close to beach and amenities. On site massage, either in your room or private tent in the pool area. Decent simple gym. The pool is beautiful.

We have stayed at 4 other WorldMark locations and this by far has been the worst experience as far as the room goes. The staff and location has been great, but the room is in need of some attention. We stayed in room 7301 and here is the list of issues.
The freezer didn’t make ice until day 2 that we were here, the dryer got too hot and stopped working for about 2 hrs, the AC in the living room was dripping water, all over the TV and over my headphones and DVD cases, the couches are in serious need of replacing because they aren’t comfortable. There are no TVs in the other bedrooms except the master, the guest bath toilet would just run until you opened the lid and fixed the plug, the fridge was set to the highest setting and did not get nearly as cold as it should. Overall, this room was horrible.

Really nice place, close to just about everything. The rooms are clean, beds are decent, water pressure in the shower isn’t very good, but most hotel showers aren’t very good. The view from our room was awesome and the staff were very helpful and made you feel welcome. Would recommend this place to anyone.

This is more like staying at a condo complex than a resort. There’s no room service. Some of the buildings have been rennovated, others have not been renovated. There best thing about it is the location. We could watch sunset over the ocean from our balcony or take the 5 minute [if you’re slow] walk to the beach to watch it. There’s an ABC store and several restaurants within walking distance. Upon early arrival there was no secure luggage storage, however, there is a free area where people leave beach stuff that you can use. This is a very chill property, most people are friendly at the pool, but not looking to make best friends. It’s a good launch pad for exploring the island.
Oh, and even in common areas they charge for Wi-​Fi unless you’re a higher tier member… REALLY??? Come on, let’s just make Wi-​Fi free.

This is one of mine and Mr. Kupcakes favorite Worldmark properties to stay at. Sure it helps that it’s on Maui, but it’s more than that. The other Maui Worldmark is no where near one of our favorites.
This one is always very clean, close to so much and if you happen to get there early, they have a big room you can wait in or get changed to use the pool. We really liked having somewhere we could freshen up and wait the last half an hour before our room was ready. Sure, we’d prefer to be able to check-​in early, but it’s nice that they have another option besides just telling us to come back or go wait in our vehicle.
The staff is also very nice and helpful. They always go above and beyond when we visit. Whenever they find out we are there around a special occasion for us, they even have a box of chocolate macadamia nuts delivered to our room. Gotta love that!
My only complaint for this place is that they don’t usually kick the children out of the pool and hot tubs for the last hour even though it’s supposed to be adults only. I need to be able to enjoy a swim without a bunch of children trying to jump on my head sometimes and really look forward to that adult swim hour.

Attention WorldMark Shoppers — the WM at Maui is an awesome location, a decent room and the typical good and bad of all WorldMark properties.
The staff is a little snarky, the room is a little rundown. The location is way better than most. It’s an easy walk to one of the better public beaches in Kihei and several local establishments for food and shopping. It took some «special worldmark magic» to get the reservation, and if you’ve been a member for long you know how to work the system.
My wife and daughter went — we had a great time. The room was clean, the air conditioner was welcome if a bit loud.
I recommend it as a place to use some of those points.

This is not a luxury resort, but I was blown away with size of the 1 bedroom. I agree that t’s more like a nice apartment complex than a resort. The bedroom itself wasn’t really that large but the living room, kitchen and bathroom were all spacious. I also like the fact that it was across the street from the beach and in walking distance to stores and restaurants. We went home with clean clothes in our luggage thanks to the washer and dryer in the room. With a full kitchen and refrigerator, we decided to make a Costco run for food and drinks for the week and we were set.
