History
Established in 2009.
Coconut’s Fish Café was born from a wish to have high quality, healthy, ono fish served to neighbors, friends and ohana. That vision began to grow as word spread about a new, stylish, fast-casual eatery where the food was unmatched and the service centered on aloha. Now, we remain that same family business but with a much larger family to serve.
Our flavors play tribute to our Hawaiian home as well. Your bites can feature mango, wasabi, coconut, pineapple, soy, and ginger. Our signature, homemade coleslaw bright flavors are driven by coconut milk, an ingredient we use to make our coleslaw not only unique, but healthier. We’ve even incorporated some of our family recipes, with Founder Mike Phillips offering customers his mother’s Cocktail Sauce, Caesar Salad Dressing, and Seafood Chowder.

Mike P.
Business Owner
Michael has over 40 years of restaurant experience. At 13, he started working in restaurants and climbed his way from busboy to corporate trainer of one of California’s largest restaurant groups. He has owned his own businesses for nearly 30 years, operating several successful restaurants and retail stores.
In 2009, Michael opened Coconut’s Fish Café in Kihei. Since then, through his leadership and unfailing dedication to excellence, the business has grown from a single-unit restaurant into a growing, national franchise.
When you walk into one of Michael’s restaurants, you will experience uncompromising customer service and some of the best foods and flavors of your life.
