History
Established in 2009.
Erik, the founder of Computer Hale, was laid off while Maui was being hit hard by the economic downturn. With very little options available for computer work on the island, Erik began working out of the back of his truck doing computer repair. Soon Erik began to pick up a reliable list of clientele, including a few small businesses. At this point, he opened Digital Means LLC.
Soon after, he and his wife decided that Kihei badly needed a neighborhood computer repair and retail shop, and opened Computer Hale. As they moved from a small location inside of a friends mortgage company to a shop of their own, the business grew along with a reputation of providing fair, good quality computer repair and small business IT support. Shortly after opening in a 500 square foot location, they realized that operations had already grown beyond that location, they moved into their current location in South Maui Center.
Now, after 5 years of business, they are one of the top computer shops in Maui.
Meet the Business Owner
Erik M.
Business Owner
Erik started out working with digital audio engineering, but soon found a deep interest in computer technology. He began fixing and building computers for friends and family. After receiving his first computer certification, he started his professional career as a helpdesk technician for Verizon. He quickly moved up the ranks, then over to Maui where he honed his skills working for the Grand Wailea as an IT analyst, then to the Four Seasons as Assistant Director. After being laid off, Erik decided to branch off and create his own technology company… Digital Means, which is not Computer Hale Inc.
