Kihei Alii Kai

After many many trips to paradise, from San Diego, I finally found the one place that made me feel comfortable and at home. This building complex is steps from the best beach in Maui. It also has terrific amenities including a blue tiled large pool and spa, sauna, several BBQ areas, tennis courts, parking, elevators, etc… If you’re looking for the best value in paradise, look no further.

This condo series is truly inspired. The architect managed to build 4 buildings (2 in front of 2) in such a way as to offer nearly every living room a gorgeous piece of the famous Maui sunset. We stayed in the D building, which is set farther back from A & B, but still had a decent view of the sunset (see photo).
The condos are clean and quiet. There are nice-​looking tennis courts and a stunning blue-​tiled pool. Barbecues abound.
We did have a bit of a snafu upon arrival. .. they didn’t know we were checking in that day, so we had to make our own bed (with clean sheets) and wait for house-​keeping the next morning to clean the place. However, the manager was extremely apologetic and the owner compensated us (fairly, we felt) by giving us a 1 night refund. Mistakes happen, and this one was handled in the best manner possible.
For their proximity to one of my favorite swimming beaches (Kamaole 1), the adept management, and the fantastic views, I’d definitely recommend this place.
P. S. Also close to Harvest Moon Natural Foods and Da Kitchen — 2 equally delicious extremes at opposite ends of the health continuum.
