Do I even have to give this one star? Ugh! This is the most awful wine EVER. And I’m not being mean, this is just a step up from the neighbor who makes wine him or herself in their house. Cold hard facts are that the east coast just doesn’t have proper growing conditions(including soil, weather, vines, and winery’s) to offer a proper wine. There are plenty of wines to be purchased from great vintners rather than to buy this juice with rubbing alcohol in it. I’m sorry, that is kinda mean but they do kinda deserve it because they know they are offering a subpar product and trying to pass it off as a competitive wine in the market. In the wine world these wines don’t even register on the radar. They really are just juice, nothing more.

Have you ever been to the King of Prussia Mall? If you connected the Plaza and the Court(they do have a walkway, but if it were enclosed) it would boast more retail space under one roof than the Mall of America. The MOA has a theme park in the middle– the KOP is strictly business. Sometimes that business can be a little overwhelming. Sometimes you think, wow, a little nip of something could take the edge off this flourescent lighted shop-a-holic’s playland. Enter the Clover Hill Winery Store. Good idea! 5 samples per person of wines rated in sweetness from 1 to 4. Note that I hang out in the 3 – 4 range(with the rieslings et. al.) and gf hangs out in the 1 – 2 range(with the pinots). I tried the spiced apple, the vignoles, the concord, the riesling, and the catawba. In the winter they serve the spiced apple hot… which was interesting… it would have been better actually mulled than just warmed. I wasn’t impressed with the riesling… but the concord(a sweet red that tastes somewhat like classy communion wine) and the vignoles came home with me. Bad idea – having to carry two bottles of wine through one of the longest retail gauntlets in the country. I sobered up and then got a little cranky… and then asked gf to carry them… and that made me feel a bit better.
