A few years ago I stopped into this place for a free introductory class. I wasn’t able to sign up and take classes because the gym’s location was inconvenient to where I lived at the time, but having recently had an extremely poor experience with another gym I felt compelled to write about how incredibly positive my class at Precision was. From the moment I walked into this gym, everyone was incredibly welcoming and encouraging, taking the time to demonstrate the proper ways to shrimp, breakfall, etc. Everyone was awesome, but no one more so than Rob himself, who — despite me knowing literally nothing about BJJ at the time — made sure to give me personal instruction and answer any questions I had. The pressure to sign a contract was non-existent, unlike the other school I signed up for. And overall, I was pretty bummed that training at his gym wasn’t feasible at the time. If you’re in the KOP area and looking to begin BJJ classes I can’t imagine you’ll have a better experience anywhere else.

Though I don’t live close, and there are many places to train BJJ and grapple these days, Precision deserves to be up there with the best. I look forward to work assignments in that part of PA so I can stop by the gym and catch a class or two. Hands down my favorite place to roll in the state and beyond. The instructors are respectful and patient and the place is clean. Mats are cleaned after every practice. I have found that the head instructor, Rob, is always available for a short Q&A session. Every so often he’ll engage in a training session with me just to see where do I stand and where my weaknesses are. That sort of individual attention I have not found elsewhere. There is a yoga section on a lower level as well. Overall, awesome place at a low price. I just wish I started there as a beginner. In attempt to make this review bit more well-rounded I tried to find some faults with the school but after couple of years practicing there I am yet to find a down side or a training partner who doesn’t put learning first.
