Food was good, atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. We were the only diners in the restaurant at dinner time. TV on the wall was showing an action movie, viewed by the workers. Kind of awkward feeling. Not cozy.

Horrible food. Phở is from instant pack noodle you get from the Asian store. Will never return.

Surprise, surprise! There’s a Vietnamese Restaurant in Kings Mountain. Although I’m not quite sure since there were a lot of Thai items on the menu. It could have also been the Vietnamese take on Thai… Went with the whole family including Mom on a Friday night. Most of the people in the restaurant were waiting for take out. I was a little turned off at first by the 91.5% sanitation rating, but here goes. The décor is sparse but clean. A sign on the door said free WiFi, but there wasn’t any. For starters we had hot tea(my mom deemed it Chrysanthemum tea that was«delightful») and I had Thai Tea. The Thai Tea was sweet and creamy like it should be and had a nice smoky taste(Lapsong Souchong maybe?). To Eat: Steamed Buns — the good, the combo of black mushrooms, egg and pork was very rich but good — the bad– they were served covered in saran wrap — once you took that off and started to eat them, you realized that there was also paper stuck to the bottom that you were now chewing. Summer rolls: just okay — a little bland even with the peanut sauce — also way too much lettuce — after two bites the rolled up lettuce pops the whole thing open. Tom Yum: the good — great flavor with some heat and tartness from the lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves — nice amount of chicken and onions — the bad — picking out big pithy lemongrass stems and lime leaves — finding two pieces of canned pineapple that did not really add to the soup experience. Pad Thai: Pretty good overall but a little sweeter than I normally have experienced. Lai Mein: No I didn’t spell it wrong — maybe their take on Lo Mein — great smoky flavor and light char — with a variety of veggies and shrimp and beef = very good. Yellow Curry with Chicken = good but not great — not as thick or intense of a flavor compared to ones I’ve had — I’m also spoiled by having white meat(eg Thai House) whereas this had dark(probably thighs), but I’m sure the dark meat is probably more authentic. The staff(one man) was friendly and helpful although there were many uncomfortable lags/gaps in the service. Had to request silverware and plates as well as water for some of our party(I still tipped 20% — don’t worry). Give it a try and judge for yourself!

Although I come here A LOT, it’s not my #1 recommended place in all of NC. I have eaten a lot of the same food from home, but whenever I want a quick tie-me-over, I stop by this place. It’s good, but more just good enough. I still recommend the Pad Thai(fried noodles) because that will always be my favorite dish anywhere! It’s one of those places where you absolutely have to check out for yourself! Great service, good food, sanitary bathrooms. Everything’s all good!

Phở tasted like it came from instant phở packages you get at the Asian store. Broth does not taste authentic — if you want delicious phở then drive to Charlotte, there are many places there that are worth the drive

Decent prices, great food, and fast and friendly service. I visited once when I was passing through the area. I love their fried chicken wings and Pad Thai! Chicken was seasoned well and fried to a crisp. The Pad Thai was also no overly sweet like most places I’ve visited. Will definitely be back if I am in the area again.

I have eaten Phở a lot in Chicago, I have to say that Phở 98 makes a really nice bowl. The beef is seasoned well and thinly sliced. The broth has a nice flavor. All the usual add-ins are present. Steaming hot when it comes to your table. There really isn’t anything not to like.

Mr. Hoy speaks again! Two friends(not on Unilocal) from Charlotte Area had told me about this place and how good it was! Based on one dine here and only one Chicken Dish(Bun) I’ll say they barely get Four stars compared with Vietnamese in Charlotte, still I’m giving them four because the Bun was better than some Vietnamese I have eaten in Larger cities and I’m guessing they are the only place to get Vietnamese in the local vicinity! The Service was very kind and fast! Next time I’ll order Phở!

I have to agree with another reviewer, i’ve definitely had better Vietnamese…, however for the area this isn’t bad. I wish the menu had more Vietnamese selections(bun to, broken rice, etc), a lot of it seemed more thai or chinese in nature. I’ve heard the Phở is amazing, but I did not try that. If i was in the area and needed to eat, i would go back. Very sweet staff.

Okay Pad Thai. Service was fine, but TV was loud and on any annoying show.

The phở is good. The food is good not the best I’ve ever had but definitely not the worst. It’s the best in the area that’s for sure.

Excellent vegetarian dish here called Mi Boun wth tofu. You can order most anything with tofu instead of meat. Prices are very reasonable! Try the mango and sticky rice for dessert, it is a generous helping. A+++ in my book!
