History

Established in 1987.

We are credited as the pioneers and key to the success of our neighborhood. The Armadillo was the first venture to open on an otherwise forgotten street.

The basis for our success is our supportive clientele and our involvement in the community.

As past vice president of the local SPCA and current co-founder of Have A Heart Animal Welfare Fund she couldn’t see people leaving their dogs in a car while they ate, the Armadillo has a beautiful, outdoor patio where well behaved dogs are welcome.

Merle founded a soup kitchen in Kingston. The soup kitchen is still in operation at the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church. As a Board member of Family of Woodstock Merle put into plplace a program that helps victims of domestic violence find safe haven for their pets when they leave their abusive home situations. They are reunited once they are in safe new homes!
