B & G Electrical Contracting

Garrett Davis of B&G Electrical Contracting did an outstanding job of managing the electrical, plumbing and carpentry work we needed to complete a home-​renovation project begun by a different contractor and to ensure the entire project complied with Kirkland city inspectors. The B&G employees and the subcontractors that B&G provided were all friendly, very skilled and competent, and fast workers. The rates we paid for the work were fair and the total cost was reasonable. My family is very happy with B&G Electrical Contracting’s work!

Project: Installation of 5 recessed cans (3 standard, 2 sloped) on existing switch in living room and installation of 4 sloped recessed cans on existing switch, ceiling fan, and ceiling fan switch in bedroom. No attic space above either ceiling.
After contacting the B & G main number, Garrett was quick to return my call and discuss my project with me. He gave me a quote over the phone rather than coming out. I was a little hesitant at first but he was very confident about his quote based off his 20 years of experience.
The electrician that came to my home was Igor (sp?). I could not have been more impressed with the work that Igor did on our project. He took the time to tape and spread out plastic covering all of the working areas before beginning which was great because anyone who has worked with drywall knows it gets everywhere. He was able to perform ALL of the work on my project in the given time except for mounting the fan which he would need to return to finish up at future date. After Igor left, the B & G scheduling assistant called me soon after to schedule a date to finish up the project. When Igor returned to do the fan at the scheduled date and time, he once again did a stellar job.
Igor was fast, efficient, and left my home with very minimal mess. Again, the minimal mess was impressive considering the amount of drywall work he performed. I was initially concerned with additional expense due to any necessary drywall damage to complete the project. Igor was able to complete the entire scope of my project with all but one tiny hole in the ceiling next to where he installed my fan. The only reason for the hole was due to the stud finder being off by literally half an inch (he took such great pride in the overall job he seemed genuinely disappointed that it happened). Otherwise, he would have completed the entire project with zero drywall damage (patching the hole myself only cost me $ 5 and 5 minutes of my time). I could not have been happier with the job he did on my home and he truly is a credit to the B & G Electrical team.
If you are planning an electrical project, I couldn’t recommend B & G Electrical enough. They were prompt, courteous, fast and very professional. At no point was I ever frustrated or concerned. They communicate extremely well and answered any questions I had. They will definitely be my first call for my next electrical project!

I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks ago and the day before the company was to arrive, I emailed to confirm. I received an email stating my appointment was not confirmed and the earliest appointment was a week later. I had an email that stating to book me for a specific date with the hourly rate. After several emails the morning of the appointment they were able to find someone to come. If someone wasn’t available how was this arranged? Based on the events that took place I decided to find another company.
I am sure they would have done a great job but organization and reliability are basic business fundamentals which were not displayed in this instance.

When we got the inspection form back after buying our house there were a bunch of electrical items that needed attention. Garrett was scheduled to come out and do an estimate but instead called me directly and let me know he wanted to make the most out of our time and said that what needed fixing were very minor repairs and said he could fix everything on the spot. I was booked a week out and he arrived on time. The office also called the day before reminding me of the appointment which was very helpful. Garrett was professional and thorough. He even helped me check to see if I had a gas line behind my electric stove, totally unrelated to his job, but he was still helpful. He also gave me helpful tips on updating my lighting in the house and recommended a plumber to help with a future project. Also the total bill was extremely affordable and now I have a peace of mind about our electrical outlets and can enjoy our new home. If you want honest, quality, and affordable work call these guys!

B&G Electrical Contracting was awesome from the beginning. I called to set up my appointment and they were able to fit us in much faster than the other electrical companies I had called. The technician (I believe his name was Brett) was on time, fixed our outlets within an hour, took payment and was out the door. He was courteous, informative and efficient. Will definitely call them back if anything else pops up!

Garrett came out to do an estimate, right before he got here we noticed an issue in one of our bedrooms. He fixed it on the spot for us, even though the purpose of the visit was an estimate only. Thanks Garrett! Looking forward to getting the estimate and resolving the rest of the items on the list.

Used them twice for two different electrical repairs. The first time the electrician suggested a repair that sounded fishy. I called a friend who is an out of state top quality electrical contractor and he said… run…that suggested repair is a big no-​no and a code violation. That same electrician found another solution at a reasonable cost so i was kind of happy but a bit concerned. Decided to give them one more try and the second time I felt overcharged. I have a pretty good feel for industry rates. I’m not looking for cheap, just for «fair». They would not adjust the bill and were not nice about it.

I had an issue with my kitchen lights… Brett was prompt, came over early actually, trouble-​shot the issue, fixed it and I’m very happy with Service Brett provided!
I’m impressed!

I have used them twice now for work that I needed to have done at my residence. Each time they were prompt, professional and up front. Would use them again.

I just got an EV charger installed in my garage from B&G and was very impressed with their work.
They were able to accommodate me on the schedule on very short notice. They mentioned that I was lucky though because they had a cancellation. Based on my description of the requirements (25 — 30 feet of wiring from the main panel to the installation point), they gave me an accurate estimate over the phone.
Tyler showed up for the appointment on time. He was very personable and professional and installed everything in 3 hours as promised. That included a trip to the nearest Home Depot. I was very impressed with the quality of work, finish and cleanliness.

We had B&G install a NEMA 14 – 50 outlet for our EVSE. It was right next to the breaker box so it was a pretty simple job. They showed up on time, did the job quickly and cleanly and even came in under their estimated cost (which was already way better than other companies’ estimates).

Had an estimate appointment setup with B&G Electrical contracting of Kirkland for Monday February 2^nd, 2015. I drove to the house (I do not live here full time) and met «Garrett» in the morning. I had to reschedule work around for this as most people do.
Garrett was nice and walked around in my house and pointed out things we could do to the place and what would fit my needs. He was there for probably 20 minutes and was very helpful. At the end, he said I would receive an estimate at some point and took down my phone number and I believe email.
A few days later, I had not heard anything so I reached out to B&G. I talked to a woman at the front desk who said she has no record of them coming out to my house. She said she would call Garrett right away and get back to me. I never heard from B&G again.
I realize that not all contractors want every single project. I realize that they may have been busy. I realize that sometimes projects aren’t worth the money. BUT, I don’t understand the lack of communication and lack of reporting. How come the front desk person was confused about her not seeing that Garrett was ever at my place? She said my name wasn’t even on a contact list of any sort.
I think it’s totally unprofessional to just disappear into thin air and not say a word. I had to rearrange work and drive up to this house to meet him and only to not ever hear from them again. A simple «We don’t believe we can do this project at this time» or «We don’t have time right now» would be much better so I can move on to other contractors. I waited hoping I could do business with them based on these reviews and how nice Garrett was.
So, B&G, I apologize for this review but you wasted my time and money. For those reading, try Mirsky electric in Seattle. I am working with them right now on my house in Lynnwood and they are fantastic. Plus they have great reviews.
Update: On April 2^nd, Garrett from B&G reached out to me via email explaining why I never heard from them. I won’t go into the reason as it’s a personal/​private matter…
Bottom line — If you hire B&G, you will probably get treated well and your job will be taken care of. My intention here is not to ruin any potential business for B&G. I’m just writing what MY personal experience was. And even after reading the reason I never heard from them, I simply don’t feel comfortable doing business with a company that disappears on you. Especially when it comes to contracting. Imagine if they split on you halfway through your project?
All B&G had to do was call/​text/​email and tell me that due to unfortunate circumstances, my project would be delayed. That would have taken less than 60 seconds.

Had a very positive experience with B&G Electrical. We needed to have several heater units replaced and quickly due to the cold weather. They were able to get us on the schedule for the next week. Igor showed up and was just great. He quickly figured out the best way to install the new units and was right to work. He explained the settings and made sure that all the units were working properly. All the areas around where he worked were spotless when he was finished. I appreciate that he took the time to explain some things, went over the itemized invoice (which was actually a bit less than the initial over the phone quote) and then he was out the door. Fast, friendly and very professional. Happy to recommend them.

I was very happy with B&G. Jake came out to give an estimate and gave me ideas about what to purchase for my project. When I was done shopping I called them back and had several items installed. They were professional, easy to work with and did a great job!

We needed an electrician on rather short notice. Gave B&G a call and they were able to fit us in within a few hours. Jake did an excellent job for us, was quick to solve the problem and fixed an additional problem we had which required him to run down a thermostat for an obsolete heater. Good value for money. We have put B&G on our list of preferred electricians.

I called B&G since I needed my sump pump hardwired to the electrical outlet. It was currently plugged in via extension cord. B&G gave me a quote and came out within 2 days. They did a great job and finished earlier than expected. I would highly recommend B&G Electrical Contracting.

These guys are legit, I definitely would recommend this company!

What a professional company putting the customer first! You don’t see companies like this anymore that really take care of the customer and make sure that satisfaction is 100%, no matter what.
Garret, was able to swing by on short notice address my electrical problem in my master bath remodel.
If you need experienced and knowledgable electricians, no matter the job size, call them first.

I called B&G because they were near my home. The initial visit was diagnostic, and Garrett found the problem quickly and explained what to do in the future. I had been told of a minimum charge when the problem was diagnosed. I expected that the company might charge that fee. Garrett said «we are neighbors, and hope that you use us again» The charge was nominal in comparison, you bet I will! AND they do more than just electrical, but plumbing, and most other handyman type of work! So glad I called B&G!

I needed an outlet installed above my fireplace (as I am mounting a tv there), and my baseboard electrical heater moved. After measuring it, I realized that I needed to get a smaller one. Josh showed up on time, with a new baseboard heater, and did an amazing job, and caused as little damage to the dry wall as possible. I was a bit worried in terms of using an electrician, but this company is prompt and honest, and will definitely use them again!
