Chun’s Teriyaki

The service is great and the food is delicious. Every time I go to the Kirkland area, I stop by here to eat. My favorite is the zhajiang noodles. Yum. The staff and owner are very friendly, i always feel welcome.

The signs of a failing business are raising prices, and lower quality food. I got the teriyaki chicken on an empty Saturday night (I was literally the only one there at 6:30pm). I wanted to get the Garlic Chicken dish as recommended by a Unilocaler, but that’s $ 10 with no rice (small white rice is $ 2).
The chicken seemed undercooked, smelled rank, and the rice was soggy and overlooked. I was optimistic with the mystery soup but quickly put it in the trash after one sour, sweaty tasting sip. This place doesn’t deserve the stars it currently has.

Got the orange beef and it was gross. Soggy on the outside and a gummy chewy texture on the inside. I couldn’t even it eat it.

I tried Chuns Teriyaki after searching Unilocal for the best ja jang myun on the eastside. I didn’t see it on the menu, so I ask the woman at the counter if I could order it to go with an order orange peel chicken. I shared these with my daughter and there was enough lefted over for another half a meal. The ja jang myun was decent and filling. The sweetness of the orange peel chicken was a good combination from the saltiness of the black bean sauce. We’ll be back for more!

We are from out of town and found this little gem. The girls were all wanting Chinese and Unilocal had a great review. This small establishment was perfect. Friendly, fast service. All our dishes were great — highly recommend the potstickers. The portions were more than generous for the price. The girls loved the fun and complimentary orange to top off their meal! When are you opening in Portland?

Giant pot stickers. Very impressed with the service. Beef and broccoli was okay. Will return for the pot stickers.

Love Chuns. Everything we get is always great. Great selections. Teriyaki is yummy too. We always call in to go orders. Always ready when we get there. Great for take out that’s not too far from home.

I love this place! Great prices and large portions. Great customer service, so warm and friendly. I go here often because it’s close, fast and so yummy. The fried rice and chicken teriyaki are my go to’s but everything is good and I want to try it all. Go here!

This is one of our staple take out places. Consistent in quality, huge portions and great service. The owner is a humble hard working genuine man who works tirelessly 7 days a week in the kitchen. He is the one only cooking with no substitute cook.
Great teriyaki, Mongolian beef and chicken, moo shoo chicken, Jambong (Korean hot seafood noodle soup that you must try), Jajangmyon (black bean noodles, again a must), …
We have been coming to this restaurant for almost 10 years and will continue as long as we live in the area.

We had takeout from here the other night. Overall it seemed to be reasonably priced good Chinese food. The hostess was very friendly and helpful and the food didn’t take too long to cook. The one thing I didn’t like was the didn’t include chopsticks with our food, so next time I’ll have to remember to ask.

My husband and I are quite surprised by the great food that Chun’s has made for us. We’ve ordered take-​out from them three times in two months, and every single thing we’ve had has been delicious! I especially love their veggie fried rice, and the honey-​walnut shrimp… both are so wonderful! This is definitely our new favorite go-​to place for Chinese food on the eastside!

Quick service and huge portions for the price. But keep in mind that the beef teriyaki is kind of fatty/​gristle-​y, so if you’re not okay with that, go for chicken.
They have that delicious salad dressing you can only get at teriyaki places, too!

Best green beans and beef I’ve ever had. Earthy, garlicky, tasty and perfectly prepared.

I have been coming here for the past 5 years and still has that great flavor. Their customer service is excellent and they provide complimentary soup with the combinations and teriyaki. Great food, not too big of portions but they’re filling. Only one time when I had a bad experience. The chicken was undercooked so I suggest telling them you want it well done. Over than that everything is good. Great variety as well

I don’t quite know what to make of this place. It is officially one hour after I ate there, and I am not hungry again… yet. However, I don’t think I had real Chinese food…
The chow mein had a very skinny noodle that was almost like angel hair spaghetti — very strange… This was the first time in my life I was served chow mein that looked like that. I think I’ve seen pictures of that kind of chow mein on canned Chinese food in a grocery store, but never served in a restaurant. I wouldn’t have minded so much if it delivered on flavor, but it didn’t; bland noodles, bland meat, and bland veggies. Blah.
The rice looked like someone’s first attempt at Chinese rice; white and very sticky and mushy. It came out of the to-​go carton in one, giant, gelatinous brick. You could scoop it with an ice cream scooper, and it wouldn’t lose its form. I’m used to Chinese rice being more solid and the grains being separable. This rice was almost like sushi rice, but even mushier… way overcooked. It was also very bland and super skimpy on the pork. I had two servings of rice and only found three small pieces of pork. I couldn’t really find the egg either, but there were enough peas and carrots in there to make Forrest Gump giddy.
Side note: I personally detest when Chinese restaurants put peas and carrots in their rice. I think it’s a copout and a poor attempt to compensate for not using enough meat and egg to flavor the dish.
The only thing that tasted familiar to me was the beef and broccoli dish. But, the sauce they use was just too sweet. This was easily remedied by mixing soy sauce with the dish, but if I’m ordering takeout Chinese, I’m obviously in a lazy mood and don’t feel like seasoning my own dinner.
The fortune cookies sucked and had some kind of chemical orange flavor.
Overall, I guess I may order the broccoli beef again and I might try a different type of dish from Chun’s in the future, but mostly because of how conveniently the place is located to Juanita Village and because it’s one of the only Chinese food places around. But, I will probably never order their Chinese rice nor their chow mein again. This is disappointing, since these are the two most common Chinese dishes at any Chinese restaurant. They’re also the two dishes I crave when I crave Chinese food. Sad panda.

This place is very good for what it is. a casual Chinese dining experience. Don’t go in expecting great service (what little there is good, but not great) or five-​star meals. The food is cheap ($ 10 for a full meal), and it’s tasty. I got the chicken teriyaki with hot and sour soup. Both were served quickly and cooked well, though the chicken could be spicier (ask for extra spice upon ordering!). My expectations were low upon entering because of the décor, but I was pleasantly surprised. Go in with the right expectations, and this is a great place!

Very close to home so worth a stop but wished I had not. Had the General Tso’s Chicken and the Hot and Sour Soup.
The chicken had a not so good tasting sauce (I am being polite). No rice came with the entrée and I threw it out after a couple bites.
The soup was not much better.
I love fresh tasting Chinese food but did not find that here. Will not return. However you do get a considerable amount of food for the money.
I have not given a one star rating before but unfortunately Chun’s food deserves it.

My co-​workers and I go here all the time. The service is amazing.
The soup that comes before the main meal is a nice touch. You can pick from Hot and sour (my favorite), egg drop, and wonton.
Lunch combos are the way to go. Sesame chicken, mandarin friend chicken or my go to green beans and chicken.

jja jang myun is huge! I’m a big eater and I’m stuffed when I finish eating one of those.
The tang soo yook is ok but I’ve had better elsewhere.
They also have regular chinese food in addition to the Korean-​Chinese food.
It gets busy during lunch time but I always get a table anyway.

This was a frequent lunch destination when I interned a couple minutes away from this place. The teriyaki was meh, but the orange peel chicken was yummy!
I wouldn’t go out of my way for it, but if I found myself in the Juanita area I would definitely get the orange peel chicken here and swing by Urban Coffee Lounge for a vanilla latte afterwards!
