The leasing process was straightforward enough, but the execution was poor and I’m left with disdain for this dealership. Asked my salesman about termination fees and he stated, verbatim: «We don’t do that». Mentioned that our first oil change would be free. Reviewing contract, I see a $ 400 lease termination fee (you pay $ 400 if you don’t get another lease when yours ends). I discussed with sales manager who was resistant, offered 2 free oil changes if we agree to do their Hyundai survey and provide «all 10s». I accepted because the experience was pretty good up until that point. He types something into his computer and says we’re all set. I’m OK because at least we’ll make it about halfway through the lease before we pay for any maintenance. 2900 miles later, we take the car to Hyundai of Kirkland to get the first oil change performed. Service has no record and asks us for «proof». We end up paying $ 54, which will be the last penny this dealership will ever receive from my household beyond the $ 400 lease termination.
There is something wrong with businesses like this. You can look at any review site and see that this place demonstrates a pattern of behavior like this. This is typical car dealership behavior, but it’s good to be aware of the fact that you need to pay attention to details here. Get everything in writing. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t see they included a termination fee in the lease and I didn’t insist upon something written about the maintenance. It’s more unfortunate that In fact, the lease contract has a clause that states the following: «I understand that NO VERBAL PROMISES will be honored; and that everything must be in writing.»
The car is nice. The lease process was relatively painless, but a business that can’t keep its word is not worthy of your hard-​earned money. Take the money that you work day in and day out for and give it to a place that works as hard as you do.

I bought my 2013 Sonata in Anaheim California, which is a wonderful dealership and the service department is top notch. While moving to Kirkland my car began smoking on the drive and my oil pressure light came on. The vehicle was rapidly burning through oil. I took my vehicle to the service department at Hyundai of Kirkland on my very first day in the state, in September 2015. They told me because I got my oil change somewhere other than a Hyundai service center prior to my trip that was likely the cause. They charged me $ 80 for an oil change. Well the vehicle continue smoke profusely, so I returned the vehicle to the service department. I was then told that it was burning oil and they would have to do an oil consumption test. They changed my oil and told me to come back in 1,000 miles, November 2015. Less than 1,000 mile later the oil pressure light came on and the vehicle was smoking like a James Bond spy car smoke screen. I was told the engine needed to be replaced due to lost compression in a cylinder, end of November 2015. Well after several attempts to get a update on my vehicle I was told that they mistakenly did not order the engine. the entire time I was footing the bill for a rental car. They finally agreed to arrange a rental for me and I waited, and waited, and waited. Finally December 30^th 2015 I was told my vehicle was done, a little over 30 days later. All was fine and dandy until yesterday. Less than 5,000 mile on the new engine the serpentine belt shredded itself into tiny bits while going up a steep hill. the vehicle was towed to Hyundai of Kirkland, and I walked home without a loaner or a rental what so ever. Received a call stating the belt tensioner was malfunctioning and they would have on delivered over night and my vehicle would be done by Friday afternoon. Friday afternoon call I was told they were sent the wrong part, not that I believe that story, and they could not get the part until Monday. Guess Monday we will see what excuse for not having my car ready they will have. I love my Sonata but the service department at Hyundai of Kirkland is the most unprofessional and unorganized service department I have ever been to, and this is Hyundai number 3.

went their for the advertised special, they said «its only if you qualify for the military discounts» why didnt your Ad say so then, total waste of time, the salesman didnt even try to offer me anything else or counter offer. weak !!!

This service dept. is completely inept. I had a shifting issue in my sonata hybrid. The rep. Steve says it will take a couple days to order a part. They don’t provide loaners so I had to get a rental. A few days come and go, no calls, no follow up, no correspondence. A week goes by and I have called several times by now. It turns out the car needs to have the transmission replaced, another week minimum waiting as the parts come by ground mail. So it’ll be a minimum of 2 weeks and I have no confidence it’ll be done. The rental car charges keep piling up. I will follow up based on the quality of the service work, but the customer service here is horrible. AVOID!!!

I went in for my 30k maintenance. I was shocked when I was told that it would be $ 479. I told them I replaced the wiper blades and the total was reduced by $ 20. Having no choice because if this is not done it voids the warranty I went ahead and did it. The whole thing took less than 2 hours. About hour and 45 min. When I recieved the bill it was $ 546. When I looked at the bill the parts were only $ 130 (mostly things like filters and an oil change). But under labor i was billed $ 339 and various other charges that I didn’t understand. For a total of $ 546! Even higher that what I was told. When I asked how much labor was I was told $ 130 an hour. When I asked about the discrepancy I was then told the labor was a flat rate. Huh?!? When I went home I researched different reputable places. They charged between $ 150-​$ 210. Less than half! I was contacted by someone at the dealership named Tom Olson who told me I would be credited if I found a better deal which I did. I never heard back from the individual even after two emails. The only time I heard back was when I reported it to the BBB and was told that other places use sub standard parts. Funny because I wasn’t concerned about the price of the parts. I heard dealership service stations get paid more the more money it brings in. Can’t say if this is correct but it definitely looks like it. Do yourself a favor and don’t get the 30k or 60k done here. You will pay more than double. A crying shame that people don’t charge an honest price for honest work.
Here’s an interesting update: I called Hyundai of america to file a complaint. They suggested I deal with a different Hyundai dealership. I called the one in Everett. They quoted me $ 260 vs $ 546 I was charged at Kirkland for the 30k maintenance!!! I was informed that because my Hyundai is a newer model that it didn’t need the higher price because it didn’t need all the additional work. Again what a rip off!!! I will be going to Everett from now on!

Had a GREAT experience buying my wife’s new Santa Fe here! David Kim was extremely easy to deal with and helpful. Drew in finance was also awesome! No high-​pressure tactics to sell overpriced back end like extra warranties! My wife and I traveled from out of town to buy this vehicle and for the first time EVER, the dealership had all our paperwork pre-​printed (as requested) upon arrival. Great prices, in and out in 1 hour! Can’t be beat!

I purchased a new Hyundai at a dealership in Chicago. One of the major factors was the respect and care that both the sales and service teams at that dealership paid to each and every customer.
If I was buying a car in the Seattle area I would have made a very different decision. Their service department will never answer a phone call. Even if you leave a voicemail they rarely if ever call back. Their front desk staff will continue to page you through to them and has no knowledge of the dealership itself. Cannot answer even basic questions.
When I had to have my car serviced here through my warranty they took double the amount of time (multiple days) longer than quoted and did not keep me updated at all. The only reason I knew not to come was because I called upwards of 8 times to get connected and ask.
Buy from a different dealer and avoid this service location if you can.

I took a friend of mine here (when recently moved to Seattle) who eventually bought a Hyundai Santa Fe sport. The sales person lacked basic manners and when I told him about a deal I got with Volkswagen, he told me Volkswagen (the car I drive) was crap. And when I objected to his language he told me to «shut up» and that he’d yank the deal. I’ll make sure I spread the word about the disgusting manners at this place.

I can’t speak to the dealership’s sales tactics, etc, as I purchased my car at a dealership in California.
I had a very early morning apt, and finding the service entrance was a bit of a fun puzzle, but I got to the service area on time. Chris was my scheduled advisor, and he was a ray of sunshine — I was really not awake, but he was funny and warm, and it was such a great start to my day.
The waiting area is somewhat plain in comparison to my LA Hyundai dealer’s, but I think they were a much higher volume dealership, so no harm no foul. There was coffee and tea available, and a comfy couch while I waited. I completely expected them to take over an hour to do my oil change, but lo and behold, I was in and out of here in a little over 30 minutes! Made my morning, and I was even early to work. Oil changes are usually a sit and wait for what seems like forever situation, so I appreciated being able to get in and out quickly!

Drove in to have the recalls for my 2011 Hyundai fixed and ended up with nearly $ 1000 of repair work. I will NEVER go back to this place again. Let me elaborate. When my car went in, I had no issues with putting my car in park, turning it off and exiting the car. Got the car back, and man, I could not get it to turn off. Funny thing, when I picked up the car I was told, your gear box is dirty — you dropped something down there and somehow it went into the gear box from the two cup holders. And sure enough, drove it home, had an issue. The next day tried to go to work, got to the office and the car would not turn off. It was a set-​up for sure. They did something to the gear box so that I would need to have it changed.
BTW this was only told to me when I picked up the car. When they were fixing all the recalls, they called to tell me I had the original battery ($ 180) and it was dying and I needed new front brake pads ($ 290). So they let me make what were not really necessary changes at a high price before presenting me with the real problem i.e. the gear box. They made sure I already spent $ 500+ before letting me know I would need a $ 600 gear box change. Smart aren’t they?
So gear box was changed, got the car back for the 2^nd time, and this time, when I locked the car, the lights no longer went off. Apparently they told me I was missing a hood switch. The dealer thought my car had been in a collision and somehow I lost the hood switch. So untrue — this has never happened, bought the car with 900 miles, after 5 years, it has 40,000.
Both these issues were new issues — and yes I had to pay to get the first one fixed.
It is just the way the entire thing was set-​up. I do not think they can be trusted.
Let me be clear, the only reason I even went there, I needed to get the recall fixes.
I will be reporting these folks to the better business bureau and Hyundai of America as I’m sure other people have.
BTW I visited there showroom in 2010 when I was looking for a Sonata and did not like them — bought my car else where.
My advice– do not go to this dealer. You can see the 2.5 stars for yourself.

I received excellent service on my car. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They do a great job of explaining exactly what needs to be done for your car and breaking down the prices accordingly. I really appreciate this. This proves they have nothing to hide and can be trusted. I will definitely be going back for my next service.

I dunno what other people’s experience was… maybe a bad day or not paired with the correct sales person… anyways
I don’t usually give a 5 review… it’s tuff for anyone to earn that… especially since i am personally in an occupation where i have to deal with the public. i give good service and expect great service.
With that being said… Jeff Wagner at Hyundai puff Kirkland is exceptional… seriously
Where to start? Well first i was shopping/​comparing the ford fusion hybrid vs the sonata hybrid… so i did my homework… scoured the internet for all comparisons… then checked prices… everywhere from Skagit to Puyallup… AND NO BODY even came close to the deal/​price i paid or was offered from Jeff Wagner@ Kirkland Hyundai… period! And i am not talking a few hundred dollars difference… i mean THOUSANDS less than the next less expensive offering…
Next, i did my research on my trade in… my 2012 jeep liberty… i knew what i owed, what Book and retail prices were AND most importantly what i wanted/​needed to be able to get the car.
Last Monday i called the dealer… got Jeffrey Wagner on the phone… explained to him what i was interested in and that i was really busy all day… I HAD NO TIME FOR BS… i just wanted his email… He was polite.nice.kind. and didn’t try to «sell me» or tie me up on the phone with salesman crap that we sell expect…
I then emailed back and forth… let him know what my expectations were… Prices and vehicle and trade in… i then informed him of the time that i world be at the dealership that evening.
Jeff Wagner was there. waiting and ready. car ready… and proposed deal… i got what i wanted… no stereotypes of bargaining… no arrangements… no «i gotta talk to my manager» BS…
EASY PEASY… Simple process and precisely the payment i had in my mind… i never told him… we just clicked… he understood my meds and delivered.

After the sale. Jeff Wagner even came in on his days off to deliver the vehicle to a place i needed the car… that i couldn’t do… awesome!

I’ve had an amazing experience with these guys over at Hyundai of Kirkland. Martin is one of the nicest sales persons, and Drew and Richard are extremely helpful and friendly. They managed to secure me the Sonata that I wanted even when there were some issues with financing, but they cleared it all out. The lease process was also very quick. Overall I had a very positive experience.

I wish I checked Unilocal before walking into this dealership.
I looked at a used Subaru during my lunch break. The starting price was fair, I test drove the car (with the sales man, first negative) and really wanted to buy it. The 21 year old sales man was friendly and fun to talk to. He introduced me to the sales manager and explained that I wasn’t able to come back the same day, but would like to purchase the car. The manager hardly had time to look up, but immediately started with low level pressure tactics. When the sales man walked me back to my own car, I told him I was still very interested in the Subaru, provided all my contact information and said the manager needs stop his tactics.
Here is what killed the deal. They never called me to schedule a time to come in, or returned my emails. I stopped reaching out because I felt like I was begging to buy their car.
Money talks. The «outstanding staff» at Hyundai of Kirkland missed out on a sale. I purchased a brand new and identical Subaru the next day from another dealer.

I am very happy with how patient David was with us as we took enough time on choosing a car and definitely the reason for that was their pricing and the different deals they had to offer. David answered all my questions in a timely manner and i never felt forced in making a decision quickly. I would definitely recommend him or the dealership to any friend what wants own a new car. I bought a brand new Hyundai Sonata 2015 and to my surprise it has just 4 mi on it.

I bought one car back in October 2014, and that went through relatively smoothly. My only complaints were that they didn’t bother detailing my car’s interior when the car was presented to me and they insist on going on a test drive with you. The car had been sitting in the showroom and had people dirtying it up.
Fast forward to June 2015, I tried to buy another car since I had a OK experience with the first car. I did my research and requested a quote for Costco pricing. After searching around I saw that Doug’s Hyundai had a much lower price than the Costco pricing. I asked David Kim to match it and he tried to but went around it by taking Doug’s discounts and applying it to his prices. It was $ 10 more than Doug’s… Really? Then he went on to tell us about the other discounts that apply. Being out of college, there was a college discount. Understood that it was a Hyundai Rebate, but it had to go through financing, really just a stupid idea as you end up paying it back in interest.
David then decided that I was arguing with him and just started arguing at the top of his voice. I needed to calm him down and told him I wasn’t arguing with him, but if I qualified for the discount, I wanted it.
I gave him my final offer and he put me on speaker phone with Tim (probably the most obnoxious one of them all). David told Tim I was arguing with him and asked Tim to talk to me. I told Tim my price, which matched Doug’s, and asked him to match the discount for college grads with no financing. He said «No» and hung up. We then got up and to walk out. As I walked out, I asked for my paperwork back with the SSns and income information. David just said «no no no no no non onononononono» you can’t have it back. You’re kidding me… I ordered him to shred it and he said he would. Really? It’s a photocopied form with OUR information.
They didn’t seem interested in working with us at all and told us to go to Doug’s where apparently Doug’s lies on their prices all the time according to David. We took his advice, and bought the car there.
The next day, David decided to email us and reduce the price more, too late Hyundai of Kirkland. If he was a little smarter he should’ve beat Doug’s in the first place. Lost the sale over a couple dollars and a return customer. I’ll be going to Doug’s Hyundai next time if I ever need a new car.

Do not use this «service» department.
Failed to quote me price, were extremely rude when asking them the price before picking up my car, «well someone has to pay for it!», yes, someone does, me, and I’d like to know how much…
Car is still broken, service department failed to properly follow their own Service Bulletins, and gave me back a broken car.
Filed a complaint, and they sent 2 emails, and are ignoring me after I asked what their plan was. No apologies, no understanding, no concern that they failed at the basic thought process of auto repair.

I appreciate the response on this social media platform, however, if you are having trouble «finding me in your system», I would recommend reviewing your complaint emails from last week, as I stated above. Heidi and Todd Ireland were both emailed with my contact information, and I have received no response in a week’s time, when quotes contact within an hour. You can also reference the complaint I’ve filed with Hyundai of America.
Even this response lacks a meaningful apology or concern. Implying that I «felt ignored» infers that it is my own feeling, when I have been, to this point, quite literally ignored. Again, quite rude.

I want to give a huge shout out to this dealership, and especially
David Moir who helped us find our new hyundai sonata! They made the whole process very smooth and easy. And David was great about really listening to our needs and wants and helping us find exactly what we wanted. David was great about giving us time to think over what we really wanted, and not trying to pressure or rush us. Very knowelge team, and a huge thank you again!

I don’t normally post reviews, but I wanted to this time because Catherine Lee was very helpful. We looked at several cars and I fell in love with the 15 Hyundai Elantra Limited. Catherine was not pushy and helped me make an informed decision. I was able to get a great deal with all the rebates. Thank you Catherine!

I just bought a 2015 Hyundai Elantra SE this weekend at Hyundai of Kirkland, the experience is amazing. My sales person is Catherine Lee, she’s very professional and nice! Everything is quick and easy, the whole process went super smoothly, since I already did some homework and research by myself before I went to the dealership. Catherine offered me an ideal price and helped me to get a low interest rate, she cares her customer thoughtfully!!!
