Best spicy kung pow chicken, they use chicken breast, which is a major plus!!! Also my hubby can have his favorite Phở beef noodle soup. Very kind and quick service. Amazing BBQ pork fried rice. Lovely relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back for more.

Tried this place for lunch for the first time and I was highly disappointed especially after reading the good reviews. I ordered the totem lake combo and the chicken teriyaki was dry, tasted so burned, and had no sauce on it. The salmon sashimi was falling apart and the tuna rolls had an awful taste to it. The tempura also had an awful after taste and the sauce was poor. Too scared to try the egg flower soup. Super disappointed.

Truly quite good! The Chinese dishes really knocked my socks off. My sister got sushi and said it was pretty good. We have high standards of sushi, thanks to Izumi. So it’s hard to compete in that department. Loved the fried rice, not greasy or oily! And the orange style chicken(I THINK) is what I had is good cuts of meat, not weird and and grissley. I think they truly care about their food and their customers! Definitely a hidden gem that I should have tried YEARS ago! I’ve been missing out.

Came in tonight for dinner. It was just one family in there when we arrived and at the end, it was a total of 3 families including us at dinner time. The place is not bad biut not great or anything close to fantastic or great. Just an average OK place. The sushi taste was just not that great and we had better at other places. Other dishes were better but I suggest that you order a very small amount of sushi to try out for yourself before ordering a full order. Maybe it was an off day or something for the sushi chef but we will definitely not be ordering sushi from them again. Not sure if we will even try them again since the price of the dishes aren’t worth it for what we received.

Restaurant is not FANCY or modern. .. Not a chain, and it’s pretty clear it’s a mom-and-pop operation. The menu will explore the cuisines of north and south Asian food. It’s not clear whose influence will dominate the menu. The food is fresh. .. and taste good. Friendly and happy customer service. Reminds me of New York old restaurants with good food.

Came in for a late lunch and the overall experience was nothing great — nothing bad — just ok. The place was very empty — just two other parties, one which was finishing up and another which had just arrived. There was one person manning the front of the house. She was very friendly and nice and helpful in answering our questions about the menu. The food arrived a little slow in my opinion. Especially since there weren’t many people at the restaurant. The food itself was ok, nothing fantastic. I had ordered the red curry and the menu highlighted it as spicy. It was not spicy at all and I had to ask for hot sauce. One good thing is that the price is reasonable. But, the taste of the food was just not up to my expectation.

I was *STARVING* the other night and they answered the phone super close to closing and made me a ridiculous amount of food for one person. They were so nice and I was so appreciative. I will definitely come back.

Very good food and service in this unsuspecting restaurant. Fresh fish, sticky rice, great wasabi and soup. Even the Chinese-style kids’ meal was divine including crispy chicken and excellent pork fried rice. We will be back.

I wasn’t feeling well(diverticulitis flare-up) and wanted something light and easy on my digestive tract, so I was craving some miso soup. This place popped up on Unilocal as pretty close to my hotel(Courtyard Kirkland) with decent reviews, so I chanced it and headed over. What struck me most was the interior setting and ambience. It wasn’t cheesy Chinese, but very classy Japanese. Real cloth napkins, really nice chop sticks(and a ceramic holder). The lighting was modern, but not too bright, not too dark. The decorating was Asian, but subtle and tastefully done. The lady who served me(I can only assume was one of the owners), was very nice. I inquired about a half roll of sushi, but they only sell whole ones. She recommended the ‘tekka maki’ roll, basically salmon and rice and not very big. At only $ 5 and change, it seemed a safe bet, though I really wanted the signature ‘Ken’ roll, which sounded delicious, but I knew I’d pay for it later. I asked for the biggest bowl of miso they had, and when it came, I was satisfied that I received an actual bowl of soup(about the size of a bowl of phở). I ate the whole bowl of soup and 3 pieces of my sushi. If there was music, it was so subtle I can’t recall if there was anything playing, which was nice. For a first time visitor, I have to say that I would definitely come back if I’m ever in Seattle again. This place was awesome.

Hidden gem on the eastside. Family friendly Pan-Asian food with an exceptional sushi bar. Delicious variety, perfect location, reasonably priced, and great service. We’ve been coming here for years and have yet to receive a bad meal. They’re great about adjusting to dietary needs. Owners, Janet and Ken are gracious hosts and he is a superb sushi master. Highly recommended so give it a try. Oh and don’t be fooled that no people park in the front, as the parking is in the rear of the building.

This is a cute little place hidden in a totem lake strip mall, and at first I found the idea of a place that did Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese food all at the same time a bit dubious, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the chefs sushi special which was sushi, a sushi roll and a chicken katsu with rice, and all the elements were super tasty. The chicken was really tender and had a crispy coating, and the fish was tasty and buttery without having too much rice. Service was good and unobtrusive, and the staff were friendly and helpful even though the place was pretty quiet on a weeknight. I know other people have talked about how the location is weird and the place is quiet but I don’t mind if that means we will get served quickly with tasty food. We’ll be back to try other things on the menu!

Very reasonable prices. I had the Spicy Basil Beef and it was fantastic! The lady had the Beef Broccoli and thought it was. Portion size on both was great. There was a good amount of vegetables in both dishes. Flavors weren’t too heavy and had a lot of nuance. The service is so-so, but if you’re looking to eat and be left alone, it’s a good fit. Perhaps not a good fit for someone in a hurry or that is wanting highly attentive service.

Plus: Very good sushi, fresh and served at the perfect temperature. Ken recommended Aji just in from Japan as well as Toro, both really good. The Hotategai(scallops) were so tasty I had to have more even though my stomach was outpacing my budget by then. Minus: The Tamago was tired(nice way to say old) and the sushi rice was not prepared with enough mirin. the place was deserted on a Saturday night, probably because it has no atmosphere, with harsh lighting and a diner feel to it. With the quality of sushi served, an investment in an interior decorator could be easily justified. Parking is easy and prices are reasonable. If you like fresh sushi this is worth a visit but I wouldn’t take a date there until it becomes more intimate.

We’ve come here once a year for the past five years or so to use our Entertainment Book coupon. On our annual visit last month, we arrived at about 6:15PM on a Friday to find the place pretty empty(we were probably the third party there). We ordered the sesame chicken and mongolian beef meals. Well, the sesame chicken is what brought us back the second time in a month(say what?!). Not only did my husband and I love the sesame chicken, our children, who are famous for hemming and hawing if they have to eat meat, devoured it. The waitresses were extremely friendly. It was nice that when we came back the second time, one of the waitresses remembered us. The décor is a bit dated and the location might seem weird. But try the sesame chicken. It was a very nice surprise. Oh, and prices are quite reasonable.

I don’t know what the draw is except I don’t think there is another Asian restaurant close by. I had Phad see ew. Wrong noodles. Terrible flavor. Flavorless except for the spice which was good because I asked for 3 stars. Perhaps other dishes are better but this was no good. Didn’t even eat half. It is nothing like the traditional dish I have eaten many times.

Loved this place for years. I wish I still lived near it. Everything I’ve eaten there was good. I even brought him some fresh seafood I caught and he cooked it up right then and was delicious. Go see Ken.

Hamachi was excellent. Beer was large and frosty cold. Miso soup warmed me to the bone on a cold day. Servers were very pleasant.

A quiet gem, and one of my friend’s favorite picks for sushi. After going there myself, I understand why. Prices are abit high but you get what you pay for.
